Thank you, I most certainly will! Good luck! I will be following closely to see where this goes!
Any updates ? Pics? Videos? Sound Clips ? I’m anxious!!

on my youtube channel a guy with user name Davis Turner just posted and described his S6 R8 swap
When I asked him what he meant, he said he got an R8 5.2 V10 and swapped it into his S6. Based on the totally different oil system etc. that’s pretty crazy as builds go. I asked him to post. Hopefully it’s legit.
I REALLY hope it is legit. That would be incredible.
I did a lot of research on the R8 v10, and I dont think it will be lightyears ahead of an S6 with headers/exhaust/tune/etc. I can’t remember where I read it, but someone somewhere said the cams are the same. There was no proof, so I didnt post.
Would the S6 transmission be OK with the raised redline? I think that is where a lot of the extra HP is coming from, along with a single stage intake manifold, tune, and a much better flowing exhaust.
Hopefully the guy can join and fill in the details. Especially, in regards to the engine bolting up to the trans, and the oil system. Those were my two main concerns with the swap.
That’s the thing, it’s probably not much faster, but would be more reliable and stronger for handling future power.
The guy just replied to my invitation to join here and said he’s not into social media etc. Which is weird, because he’s an active poster on youtube lol
Could be someone fantasizing.
Yeah, that is probably more likely.
You can’t get a running R8 or Gallardo 5.2 v10 for less than $25k. And at that price, you’d be way better off getting JHM to build you a motor, that would be much stronger. And for anyone else, it doesnt make financial sense to install the R8 motor, unless the it is stolen, or was in some other way acquired for free.
I’m still hoping he’s for real, but the odds are against it.
That would be very interesting indeed! He have any vids of his build?
I Agree. Odds are against it. Most people with money but no knowledge are easily taken. I don’t see any benefit from putting in a R8 motor. You can get a OEM new v10 S6 motor from audi for under 10,000.
Hey v8a6, dont suppose you caught this recent post over on RS246 - http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=114989
I was aware that B7 owners were modding the phaeton brake duct to aid disc cooling but i didnt realise it was quite so simple on the C6 RS6 so might well be as simple on the S6.
Disc cooling has been a real issue in my years of ownership with discs lasting on average just 18 months even though i do very few miles. I did manage to find a local company that had equipment to skim the discs on the car recently as they had warped by 0.4mm causing an annoying vibration.
I have also got into the habit of using the parking brake whilst stationary rather than sit on the pedal as embarrassingly i only recently found out the parking brake auto disengages upon touching the accelerator.
Great info on the Phaeton ducting. I had heard about that mod for different cars, but had not seen the C6 RS6 install. I can’t see why that wouldnt work exactly the same on the C6 S6.
The project budget is very tight at the moment, but Ill see about having that added. Looks like the parts cost should be fairly cheap.
Well, I think there’s plenty of anxiety, excitement and studious individuals here specifically on this thread; I’m one of them! I’m glad you scooped me up from Audizine and brought me to what is essentially the go-to Audi S6 database. You’ve not only encouraged me to discard the idea of an Audi RS6 attempt but also making wise modifications to an Audi S6 I intend on getting within a year’s time. I can’t wait to see how everything goes, and if it does, I’ll be following in your footsteps.
Keep up the progress, v8!
Good to hear! This is definitely the place you want to be, if you have any interest at all in the v10 S6.
+1

I can’t wait to see a finished project so I can start on mine. Already opened an account to save up for mods.
Yep - I am selling Audi parts with all profits going to the S6 fund
P.S. Buy my parts

But seriously, everyone’s welcome to a reduced price from me if you need anything for your S6.
OK, so here’s the deal…
There may be an opportunity to get a set of v10 S6 headers, just like the ones on my car, for a limited time. If you want a set, PM me ASAP.
In case you have forgotten what they look like, here are some pics

lol, I haven’t even owned my car a month yet and I already have the mod bug. I was hoping to see you Get that beast back on the road see and hear her run. Get some numbers and Hopefully then I should have some $$ saved up to buy something. Tho I am awfully temped to see what I can scape together.
That was originally the plan. However, getting a shop DEV car to build future parts is proving difficult. So, essentially, we are using my car instead to build the parts on and test fitment, so that everyone who wanted a set of headers is guaranteed a chance to get one right now.
After my car goes back together, we will provide results. But, I’m not sure if we’ll ever be able to get a shop car to make future sets, and at that point I don’t want my car taken apart again.
PM me details on the headers
jsut got my wheels photos soon with them on the car ;D ;D ;D
