JAKE : Not sure if the difference in the Box Code numbers between mine and what is shown on the JHM Browser has anything to do with it.
The last section of the Box Code Differs from My ECU Number
On the Browser it ends in - S0010… Mine just ends in - 0010 (No “S” Preceding the last four numbers).
Why are you manually selecting an ecu? You also need to select a cruise control type.
S0010 is the software revison
I only tried to manually select ECU after everything else failed.
Normally I just select transmission “Manual” and Cruise Control “Does Not Matter”… Then hit “Continue Burn”
I’ve tried selecting both of the cruise control options but still the same.
Before hitting continue burn, go to the drop down to see what files it chose for you without checking the manual select box. If nothing comes up then we will need to put together a file for you.
Nothing comes up Jake
(Really Appreciate you taking the time to help)
Regards Jim
Talk about fantastic customer service. On a Sunday no less.
One GOOD reason why I went with JHM.
Ok, so we have an issue, but what great assistance Jake has been attempting to resolve it.
Cheers Jake.
There may not be a file available for your ECU then. I will have them take a look at your extraction tomorrow and get that file made for you!
Jake… Your a Star
Many Thanks
Jim
No problem!
Jake is a superstar. Jim, R box has many different software updates. JHM has every ECU box code for the 4.2 motors, epically the B6 and B7 S4, RS4. In that long list a few of the boxes have different communication and sub updates. The R box you have, falls into that category. What all this means to you is, we need to make sure you have the best update and adjustments for your location.
Many thanks for that information, I’m a good mechanic, but when it comes to ECU programs I’ll leave that to you guys and take your advice.
I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.
Regards Jim
Did the flash myself but that was back in February.
Went without a hitch, wish I could remember the procedure to be of some help to you.
I know this does not help but as said previously you will see a visible progress bar on the screen as it writes to your ECU’s.
Also loaned my cable out to a guy from RS246 forum less than to weeks ago who carried out the flash without any problem.
Jake and the rest of the team will get you sorted though.
Couple of screen shots from my burn which you will be viewing very soon on your own laptop.

Best of luck Jim hope all goes well.
Thanks, that DOES help me, at least I know what I’ll be looking for once the guys at JHM let me know I’m good to go.
Regards Jim
have you tried your launch assist?
I don’t think he has the file for his ecu code yet.
Hi Kiwi
Yep, that’s the problem … apparently they don’t have the file for mine, but Jake and the guys were working on it, been a while now, but really hoping they can sort something out for me as I wouldn’t want to go with any of the UK Based Tunes from some of the companies in the UK, they just haven’t done the development that JHM have done.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for a message from Jake or the Guys letting me know they’ve sorted me something and I’m ready to go.
