They didn’t have a file on the system for mine when I went to flash. It took around 4-5 days before the file was uploaded to the server.
It shouldn’t be long now I would think.
Cheers Kiwi
That’s appreciated, It’s a real pain having to wait, but I know it’ll be worth it.
I dropped Jake a PM to see where we are, but with the time difference, I’m sleeping when he’s working… LOL.
jIM
I would give it a minute. I personally know more then a dozen European guys with the jhm tunes. I don’t think there is a reason to worry. I’m guessing it’s something server related.
Email sent earlier today with file name ;D

Well, at 4:03am California Time (I’m in England) I downloaded my JHM Tune (93)… With no problems at all, download went perfect.
Took the car for a run and after about fifteen minutes driving, It threw the engine warning light on (Yellow) and went into limp mode… Nothing ever goes right first time for me, but I’ve got used to that. As always I have my VAGSCANNER with me and pulled over and downloaded the codes :
18008 - Power Supply (B+) Terminal 15 Low Voltage.
17748 - Camshaft/Crankshaft Position Sensors (B2) Out of Sequence.
After checking the codes (Always keep my Error Code book with me too… LOL), it came up with the two fault codes above.
Decided to erase both of the codes, there and then to see how long it would go without throwing them again.
Disconnected my VAGSCANNER, left it a few minutes before switching the ignition back on… Started the car, running perfect again with no Engine Warning Light.
Off I go on my drive, a mixture of country roads and motorways (Freeways), a mixture of driving from cruising to hard acceleration and on and off throttle… PERFECT, and pulling really well, certainly better than it used too when standard.
Been driving it for about an hour and decided to go back home, checked everything and still running perfect with no fault codes or no Engine light. I have a drive of over 200 miles tomorrow, so keeping my fingers crossed.
One Strange Thing I Did Notice… On my drive I needed some fuel, so topped up as usual with Shell Super Unleaded (Or whatever they call it now… It’s changed names so many times), and although I filled up to the brim, my fuel gauge was only showing 3/4 full… First time this has ever happened. But if that’s just a glitch with the Download, I can live with that.
Big Thanks to the encouragement you guys have given me and BIG thanks to Jake.
Any ideas on why it may have thrown those two fault codes immediately after the download (Never thrown them before) and after deleting them, it’s ran perfect…
Glad you were able to flash!
As for the CPS code, you likely got it dirty when rebuilding your engine. Or it just happened to fail. I would take it out and clean the sensor off.
Jake
Cheers Jake
Many Thanks for all your help and patience.
Really Appreciated.
Car been running great for the last couple of hours, so will pop out CPS when I have a moment and give it a clean.
Regards Jim
Glad you are enjoying it!
Not a problem man. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
What would throw the other code…
18008 - Power Supply (B+) Terminal 15 Low Voltage.
Never had issues with the Camshaft/Crankshaft Position Sensor before, but its still running fine after another 40 miles of varied driving. But I’ll check them and give them a clean.
Any ideas on the fuel gauge suddenly registering 3/4 of a tank when it’s full to the brim…
Other than that, everything is fine.
Most obvious and noticeable difference is accelerating out of sweeping bends from 3k - 5k… a noticeable increase in power/torque. I love the torque of these engines rather than revving them to the limiter, but I may get tempted to explore the high end of the rev range more regularly.
.
If the car died on you it usually will throw that fault code. Sometimes when the car is off it will do that too. If you clear it does that code ever come back?
Have you tried restarting the car to see if the fuel reading changes? Your float could be stuck. That is pretty random and not something that has to do with the tuning though.
Jake
Jake Your A God among God’s…
Yes the car did die on me, when I was getting used to the difference in the throttle response. I have to admit “I stalled it”… Arghhh, and NO… The code hasn’t come back. She’s running code free for the last forty miles.
Have a 200 mile drive tomorrow so will see what the fuel gauge does when I fill it up again. Must just be a coincidence it happened today.
Haha, sounds good. Let me know how that goes! ;D
If you like it now give it a day or so. The tube adapts and just keeps feeding more and more power. The real formula for power is catless dps and a good strong 2.5 exhaust with a x pipe cross over. That will unlock even more midrange. The top end starts to choke up a little. That’s when the jhm intake manifold comes it. It really opens up and lests the car breath.
The fuel gauge isn’t linked to the ecu it’s a body control device. Check codes there.
Hi Jim,
Great news that you have finally got the tune flased.
Is launch assit part of the S4 tune?
JUSTIN : Already got decat down pipes (Piggies) & a Full Cat Back Exhaust (Milltek).
I do believe mine should have the launch assist, but not had chance to check it yet. Can someone remind me how to use it, I know you have to press one switch or another prior to launch… LOL.
Car running code free which is great news… Having said that, it was before but your always expecting something… Well I am anyway… LOL.
Looking forward to tomorrows long drive.
Does it adapt to your driving style ???
- Turn off ESP
- Clutch Pedal To the Floor
3)Gas pedal To the Floor - First Gear
- Release Clutch Pedal Rapidly
- …HOLD ON!
Shouldn’t he put it in gear first before hitting the throttle?
Tsk tsk
You don’t want to hold it on the Rev for more than a second. Half a second if you can. I used to just wait for lights to start dropping on an amateur tree at the strip, then crank the accelerator to the floor, and let the clutch go once it frapped once or twice.
Like this. That’s mistro. Still too long holding it for me. Half this time is ideal.

wow, those few tenths of a second faster mistro is looked like a lot more from that angle.
He just needs to be in first before the clutch is released:)
