This should get a rise out of you.

not me…my contention was always that it was the tuning holding them back…and that the turbos are suited for high boost high octane high speed travel…i.e. somewhat useless on a DD.

Yes, it ran 11.4 @133

Deal!

11.4 @ 133 is awesome. Reckon you can squeeze any more out of the RS6 setup? I only ask in the context of JHM’s weird RS6-R 10.8 run which was followed by silence lol. You getting closer to 10’s would wake them up!

Those super secret jhm turbos are in another league. I’d like to see a pass on a fully tuned car with no issues since that one had throttle body issues.
the rs6 car has 10’s in it as it sits… never got a clean pass on it.
if you notice the big 133 trap that speaks to the power it’s making.
the only thing we could do to get more power at this point without melting a turbo is to add some n20. which may be happening on the 770 setup ;D

How many of these 770 cars have made it into the 10s? 60-130 times and dynos like crazy but finding 1/4 times isn’t easy. A link would do. I’m not trying to get in a big discussion I just want the info.

lol

none of the 770 setups have even made it into the 11s, let alone 10s. That’s why you can’t find the info…because what info there is, is terrible. 12.2 or 12.4 @ 128 is the best Tial 770 result. Decent MPH, but for a 600-700 whp setup on meth, that’s not so hot frankly. As you can see above, an RS6 car recently went 10.8 @ 131. A dozen or so RS6 turbo’d cars have moved deep into the 11s at more than 128. It’s very odd. Sure he’s a shit driver (as he admitted here) but the trap speed is still horrendous. Looks like that car might trap 133-134 if it shifted well and ran in good conditions but that’s not exactly setting the world on fire.

They have an ‘official tial 605 results thread’ on AZ…which was started by EPL, the guys partnered with AMD to tune the Tial cars…and was all dyno results from EPL and AMD’s dyno. Wow…great information there.

So I started a similar yet opposite thread looking for real results, not spreadsheets.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/436068-Official-TiAL-1-4-mile-results-thread-(no-dynos-no-FATS-no-60-130-no-tricks)

Despite all the Tial 605 setups with the great 475-500 whp dyno results flashed around in the thread, NOBODY had run a quarter mile time any faster than a plain jane K04 car on pump gas.

During the development of that thread, one car ran 11.98 @ 116. That’s still the fastest ET ever posted by a Tial car.

I don’t know of any.

Wow. In that case I like your conviction jude.

No wonder you’ve been beating the drum Saki. Just trying to save some people some money until someone proves the product is worth it. Pretty much everyone does that in the b6/b7 black sheep section of the Quattro S world. “You wanna sell me something? Show me the results.” The product is either backed with worth while data (ie not house dynos) or laughed off the forums.

well yeah…let’s see stuff work before we rave about it and give it the trophy.

Hell if you want to buy it before it proves itself, by all means…go nuts! Just don’t proclaim it to be the greatest ever when it hasn’t even beaten the little K04, let alone RS6 or GT setups.

what was that???

with the supercharged b6 and the 770 b5 on the o34 dyno.

lol, thanks. I don’t sell tials, nor am i affiliated. I have just tuned and driven a few different tial setups. I wouldn’t just say I plan on running 10’s without a little first hand knowledge, and from what i have seen this car will run mid to high 10’s @ 135+

Cool to see the 2.7T in the B6 body. While I agree its not the best motor it is a very clean looking job.

to address the off topic side of the post.

I think the B5 has taken several steps backwards in the past few years. While the product line has grown there has been a large disconnect from builder of products and testers of products.

The large issue with the tials is. The people that build them don’t know how to test them and the people (other then present company) that are testing and tuning them don’t know enough about them and possibly how turbos work to talk about them and what makes them good and bad turbos.

People have been building then pimping products WELL before there actually tested. This is what has led to the failure of the tials and thus the backwards movement of the B5. Seems the B5 lacks pioneers and has more parts pushers with dollar figgures other then hard facts. Its not hard to see why the 770 cars are failures in the 1/4mile.

The JHM RS6-R project is meant to be a rerun back to actual product testing and building. The day I was the first person to put a RS6 turbo on a B5 was the same day I contacted the top 5 people I knew for testing. There are several RS6-R cars out there testing now. This is a throw back to how I believe things should be done. More testing then talk

What people don’t know is that before JHM sells stuff to the public its actually tested. Not just at the track but mechanically tested. Why don’t people hear more About the RS6-R turbo cars. Because there testing. Right now 3 sets of turbos are getting the bearing sections looked at after 8000+ miles of abuse to see if there is a need to upgrade parts.

The fact that there is a big disconnect between the parts and the people is what is causing TIAL to be put as a failure. At this point the B5 scene had degraded to 3rd gear data and dyno sheets to try and tell the story. That information is seriously lacking if your looking for real world data and completely lacking if your looking to see how your going to do in the 1/4 mile.

I agree full force with CV.

AMD is a major filure in this game. They pimp and pimp and have no clue nore can they talk educated about it. I like to see fonz tweak and tweak the tune as I think that is a major part of the failure as well. Still with no actual hardcore technical people left really in the B5 game that can talk on both sides of teh fence. This has made for a parts paradice and not for actual factural paradice

Also I don’t see too many if any 770cars going 10s without NOS. The miost impressive thing a 770 car has is 3rd gear and 30+lbs of boost. I think people forget you actually need to start out in 1st gear at the track.

why aren’t there Tial 605 or 770 compressor maps? I find that weird.

CV hits the nail on the head.

I tried to aquire them myself but it’s a secret. The guy running the show won’t hand them out even to dealers.

lol that’s usually good news

idk why anyone would keep it a secret. maybe some money exchanged hands early on to keep it that way.

iirc I saw some posts about concern over replicating the turbo by using the compressor maps… granted anyone who could do that work probably doesnt need a compressor map to do it

Put me in for 1 more Agree with CV

I agree. Keeping this quite is poitless. If someone really wanted that comp wheel. It wouldn’t be hard to get it. Its not like this is some revolutionary turbo.
