Time to get Supercharged JHM style.

First of all Im new here and this is post#1. I posted this on AZ but was told you guys here might also find useful.

My car is a 2011 4.2 S5 Prestige. Its at JHM for the Vortech ikit lnstall. Cars other mods are the FI cat back, JHM 382MM BBK, RS5 GRILL, VOLK G2’s, HFC’s, lightweight flywheel, stage3 clutch.

Welcome and wow what a great first post.

AR is a more technical forum with tons of members that left that other site to do drama and just plain BS. Its a little slower of a site but its much more helpful and much less drama.

The S5 kit really has a ton of potential if for nothing more then the air intake. All the other cars have to get the air intake through a much smaller cramped space.

The S5 blower has the intake facing the front of the car where there is tons and tons of cold air.

We are all excited to hear more. but from the looks of it. You have a great mod list and it looks like all the right parts.

I know the B8 has a much different flywheel design then the B7 and the S5 falls into the B8 class. Is the stage 3 using the R series clutch or is that something different.

I like how these sneaky fuckers at JHM are already installing a supercharger kit on a customer car. That means they’ve done about 2 years of testing on their own car. Also means they’ve been to the dragstrip a minimum of 5 times while supercharged…and have run something excellent. And aren’t telling us shit yet.

Thanks for bringing this thread over here to AR. I knew that the guys here would enjoy seeing this!

The car looks great! Those are some huge brakes and it is cool to see how the SC is mounted on the S5. It is mounted backwards when compared to my B6 S4 so the inlet can really get air rammed into the SC. It is such a tight fit for those high flow cats.

BTW… this kit is also on a Sprint Blue S5.

I will say this though. We have SEVEN Passes (not all at the same day) that had same ET and TRAP. Talk about consistent.

Sneaky is a good word. After reading your post I went looking on here and I found the thread on here from 2014 where the JHM stage 1 car went 11.8 thats Rs4 stage one numbers with all the proven results from that platform the S5 seems to be backing it up. Cant wait to hear more.

I don’t think much has changed in terms of big visuals. Its a lot of the smaller things like running vacuum lines etc…

This is awesome, thanks for posting!

It looks like this is a setup without an intercooler
I wonder where would it go if one was to add it. In the place of the airbox that is gone now?
Not sure where would the air filter be located. Is it going to be in front of the radiator? If yes it might make replacing/cleaning the filter quite a job

Great opening post, can’t wait to see what the S5 with the SC will do. I love the styling and looks of the S5, and the SC is just what it needs! Congrats on what I’m sure will be an amazing car!

BTW, when do we get to see more picture of why the inlet is now 90degrees to the side? Look forward to seeing the new intake design.

I stopped by the shop today for a peek. They had just fired it up. I heard from the other end of the parking lot and it sounded mean but still sporty and now with a little more whistle up front :o. I’ll update again early next week.

We have run high 11s super consistently with our entry level supercharger kit.

I heard the S5 kit MPHs really well. better than the RS4 kit.
