Hope they realize the time slip .

Maybe it’s a weird angle but it looks like a 6ft rollout

interesting lol

65vette, how is the swap coming?

Its up and running, hopefully Ill get to take it for a bit of a drive this week. Need to get to to the shop so they can finish up my exhaust and I can get an inspection.

Swap?

oh yeah, clint style. Didn’t read the whole thread, but what turbos are you using? Who is tuning it?

It’s going to be interesting to see what a 3950 lbs avant with a 2.7T performs like. I reckon you could end up in a 12.50 @ 112 car on pump gas if you’re K04 or similar sized turbo on stock motor.

I’m running a single 5858, same set up as Monty had last year before he built his heads and went to a bigger turbo. I am hoping for a 12.5 or better out of it but I am using the 0A3 which isn’t geared the best for the power band from my understanding. Should be a fun car regardless.

That’s an interesting approach. What about the tuning?

Will you hit the strip with it?

I wanted something that wouldn’t require a engine pull to do work on and the 5858 has a great mid range power band. I plan to DD the car so Ill be in the 2-6K rpm range far more then 4-7. With the single set up and the B6 engine bay, I can reach virtually anything on the engine that might need replacement and potentially could swap out the turbo for a large one in a short amount of time if I so please. Definitely plan to take it the the track for the hell of it. Lee (british turbo) is doing my tuning as well.

what requires an engine pull to do work on? You mean K04s or traditional twins? Yeah, that design is a bit of a bugger.

How’s the B6 engine bay with a 2.7T vs. B5 engine bay? Any easier or still a nightmare with twins down underneath?

Anyway, you shouldn’t really ever need to pull your engine on a 2.7T with twins if everything is set up properly. Unless you plan on blowing turbos…?

We had a customer trap 120MPH on a stock 2.7T with our RS6-Rs and Tuning/Fueling. With the right driving that would be good for a high 11s low 12s.

on pump?

I think he had 104 in it.

Hunter did better than that. Stock 2.7T internals etc.

Yeah it was his first time at the track. His MPH was continuously increasing as he was learning and getting more aggressive with it. He had to leave after 4 passes though. He also had the boost set at about 20psi

He is on this forum, if he sees this maybe he can post up his slips!

Its definitely more open. Heres an old picture before wiring and everything was in. My goal is to have it look like that when its done. Right now the engine harness is all over, vacuum lines etc. Im going to build another harness that accommodates the new set up more. Monty ran a 12.0 on this set up I think. Avant has a few hundred pounds on the b5 though. I do have upgraded internals though so Ill be able to max out the turbo.

It might be the angle, but damn it looks like that motor sits low in there. If so, that’s gotta be nice for handling considering they both weigh roughly the same when in full trim.

Very cool and ambitious build. It will be cool to see it come together. Seems like you’re actually taking your time and using decent parts, rare in the 2.7tt world these days. Although, while the single turbo is cool, I’d have a hard time ever doing something different than JHM’s RSRs
