UBLY Results April 26th 2014 - GIAC Stage II B8 S4

Hey guys,

Here are the results from the day. Made over 35 passes. I am running the new AWE coolant pump and needless to say it combined with the Cold Front System is WORKING big time. I’ll let the slips speak for themselves. The guys at the track could not believe the car did over 30 passes in a couple hours back to back and was flawless. I think they have a new appreciation for Audi’s.

This is with a 1.7094 60’! if I could have landed my best 60’ of the day which was a 1.6628, it might have been perfect.

Nice work Jeff! Looks like you were able to hot lap which helps as you’re aware… 60’s suffered a little probably do to the cold temps… Little warmer with a better BP would have been optimal but take what you can get… The highest I ever trapped was 119.4x and bear was slightly higher if I remeber correctly, and then you have the EC trap of 120.xx if you think it’s valid? Any vids? Logs? Can you let me check them out, please? Congrats on the time!

I have vids of every single pass lol. No logs though.

:o

Can you explain why hot lapping would help?

define vids…like incar vids?

also be sure to post your results in the database update thread so that I remember to add them

Video updated in first post

Done

You would have run even better without all that gas! Lol

By the time I got to track I had a half tank. So, yah, it could have bee better. I am satisfied with the car though, it is unbelievable how strong it feels.

I even had some fun with an F10 M5 on the way home  still on race mode spraying meth with 93 and e85 in my tank. Hahah fuel cocktail.

What wheels did you have for setup? Look like 18s? Conti tires?

Updated first post

That’s a nice 40 lb setup!

Tires ~22lbs
Wheels ~18lbs

Nice job man. I think with <1/8th tank gas you would have had it.

Yah,

Unfortunately, I am putting my summer setup on which is my 19’s and VMR’s. However I am getting coilovers so maybe I can help get more squat.

My lowest(recorded) 60’ is 1.628. It is amazing how many things have to come together for the perfect run. I have a new found appreciation for drag racers.

Pretty awesome to run that fast for so many runs, not many cars can do that.

Why did you mix in 2 gallons of E85 with your 100oct? I’ve always read that the many people think E85 has an octane rating of 105, but the truth is it’s more along the lines of 94-96oct. Just curious.

Actually,

E-85 cannot be measured by typical octane methods. If it could, it would much higher than 94, much higher.

I run the 104 tune, 100 octane is not high enough. When I mix in two gallons of e-85, the cooling properties, and resistance to detonation is high enough that my car will not pull timing and ends up having slightly cooler exhaust temps.

My fastest 60’s of the day were obtained using the launch control. My fastest pass however I used the side step method.

Any number of things could have made up the difference. Any 1.66 or lower was obtained with launch control. Side step I was averaging 1.67-1.70

However, due to the violence and sheer power of the launch control, if I was not lined up properly in the “groove” and didn’t have the right tire pressure or glue. The tires would break free and I would abort the run at that point knowing it wasn’t going to be a fast one.

Good job Bud!

Awesome. Is this the latest GIAC tune?

Yes it is, I will be making a post in AZ shortly.
