Nice times Ron. Let me know the DA so I can add in. I’ll let you post quarter mile stuff. We definitely had a much better (much lower) DA than you.

I believe Prime is going back for another round.

When I get Vbox back (b/c Richi is so nice :stuck_out_tongue: ;D), I have a few DSG cars I need to log.

Revo 100 DSG
APR Stage 2+ DSG 93 tune
Stasis DSG/6MT?
GIAC DSG possibly

Neat

Not much difference down low but up top Ron’s car makes hey.

Any chance you checked what the pbox said the 1320 was done in? Also, take the mph at 1320-66 feet…then take the mph at 1320 feet…then average the two out to get an approximate ‘trap speed’.

p.s. interesting to note that Ron’s track is actually on a slight decline. From 60-115 mph (115 is where he trapped at 1320 feet distance travelled) it goes from 1018 to 1008 feet, which is a 10 foot drop over probably 1100 feet (330 foot is 4.9 seconds on his timeslip…60mph is likely at like 275 feet…that leaves about 1050 feet and his track went down 10 feet. Not sure what it did from 0-60 mph. Would be neat to compare to other tracks.

The Vbox quarters were off for some reason. I don’t know if 1 foot roll out was enabled. Dont really know what happened.

Per Ron- actual times were much better than what Vbox software calculated. He was running 11.8-12.0 for three runs. Something was def off.

The two runs I could get…

1/4 mile 12.39 @117.59
60 ft 2.45
330 ft 5.56s@ 75.35

1/4 mile 12.31 @116.98
60 ft 2.16s
330 ft 5.39s@ 73.24

Third run wasnt even readable from launch.

I just used the 20 mph on data as car is already moving and less chance of error.

that happens…sometimes the data comes out fucked from pbox (another reason I don’t think the 60-130 times mean fuck all on the other forums).

own one of these and you realise real quick…they’re fun, but not a replacement for dragstrip.

p.s. you can see the data on the chart you posted looks ok. The rollout was working because it shows at 0 feet/time, he is already going a certain speed. That means he had the 1 foot head start. By 115 mph he was about 11.8 seconds.

First off thanks Tsivas!!! Sorry for the delay guys my PC took a dump over the weekend and our helpdesk still has it… I am on my groups spare PC so I don’t have any vids, slips, etc. hosted… I tried to use my wifes PC last night but damn Eaton won’t let me download certain applications… grr… So that is why I sent the files to Tsivas for help… Not to mention we got another bat in our house so I have been dealing with that fiasco!

The DA was 1248 per dragtimes as it was 57F, 30.12BP, and 42% humidity… We were fighing drizzle all day and they kept drying the track but it wasn’t working… I’ll get details on my runs later but here are the numbers…

11.89, 11.96 and 12.05 - Not sure why the Pbox times are so different?

I dropped pressure all the way down to 32 in the front and 26 in the rears to try and prevent spin but it didn’t work to well… I believe I only had one 1.6x 60 and two 1.70 60’s… MPH’s were 115’s…

If Rich and Tsivas don’t mind it is supposed to be low mid 40’s this Sat. and I want one more crack at this… I think I will post better numbers… I also have some good vagcom logs assuming they didn’t get screwed up when my PC crashed? The new tune is not dumping ANY boost…

Prime- use as long as you want. I doubt Rich minds.

nah man have at it, hold on to it as long as you need

Thanks guys! I see Marty has his pants in a bunch over on that other forum… Tsivas, feel free to include my files… I’ll also send you the vids of the passes, timeslips, and vagcom logs… I can barely use the damn device let alone manipulate the numbers… lol Which is why I go to the dragstrip to gauge #'s and post slips and vids when possible… He doesn’t even have an S4 and gets so worked up… maybe he is upset he bought a BMW???

lol yup

That dude is a dbag… bc adding an AZ name to a run posted makes it legit!! some guys asked that I don’t post their name. I figured it doesn’t really matter at this point who the f’s name is on it. I have the DBN files and I have recorded who has which run. Not that hard to do.

He made a big stink about Auditude’s 60-130 time and then swallowed his tongue.

I am trying to have him come out with his BMW to get mopped by that Revo car. He has been hiding in the bushes since we posted those Revo times.

He thinks guys are emailing you saying ‘this is what I ran’ and then you’re posting it up. Basically he’s saying 'how can YOU trust the data…let alone us trust it when you post it"

That’s what I think his issue is.

Of course that’s not what’s happening…the guys all ran same place using tsivas’ pbox (on loan from richie rich) and he’s just sharing the info.

Its not ‘the official 60-130 for b8 s4s’…and tsivas isn’t selling anything. Its just some neat data for us to look at.

marty is questioning the practice of leaving names out (remember, he’s questioning the method, not the validity of the data or tsivas).

Now this all stems from his saying you guys need a pbox list , and I guess he wants it to be just so.

The 60-130 list is very popular among people scared of the dragstrip as we know. When Marty showed up to the ATCO day, then parked his car and didn’t run it, it was pretty clear that he’s a paper tiger and a bench racer. You (b8 land) don’t need a pbox list…you need a quarter mile list. You kind of already have one with like 40 results on it. My only concern with THAT is that it is administered by one of the tuners selling stuff…and as we have seen that fervor for cars powered by their parts saw Arin adding a supposedly apr tuned car without verifying fuck all…and without even seeing a timeslip (just a crop of about 10% of a timeslip).

To that end Audirevolution site admin (god as we know him) is working on an online quarter mile database for us that will include all a/s/rs platforms and can be searched and sorted as you see fit. Pretty cool stuff!

Tsivas thanks for posting all this data, I really enjoy it. I’ve been loving all your stuff, from the very first dyno day posts.

This would be awesome.

I’m glad to have found this place. AZ makes me sad for humanity.

Thanks man.

We will be doing more vbox runs in future and also trying to do a new dyno day and track day.

You should check out Island Dragway in NJ, maybe try to set something up soon before it gets too hot. Looks like its 35/40min from the GWB. Friday night is Street Legal night. There is also a 100oct Sunoco Station on the way

I’d love to see the B8 guys get another northeast dragstrip day going. It’s always fun to meet up, and even more fun to get some runs in to settle grudge matches, see what parts are doing what, etc.

tsivas might even run his car for once

im def down

Yep can’t wait to see my 60 foot times lol

launch at 3000 RPm
launch at 3500 rpm
launch at 4000 rpm

find what works best. Repeat that one after fine tuning it (i.e. my car was 3800 RPM last time I went). Don’t slip the clutch. Just go.

You’ll be fine.

I launched a B8 S4 at about 3300 RPM and it ripped pretty good on asphalt. I’ll be driving my friend’s B8 at the strip soon so I’ll share whatever I learn with you guys at that point. Not that I’m any good at driving but at least it will give people some mock-experience.

My best (1.88) 60’ times were launching around 4400 with all aids off. Nothing like PT’s of course but the higher rev’s helped a bunch.

What happened when you did that? A little spin and then just go? Bunch of spin and gradual acceleration out of it? Or just grab and go? Probably didn’t bog at that level.

That’s getting kinda high for a stock clutch on an AWD Audi to be honest. The inertia is tough to overcome (4000lb car, quattro).
