Updated Vbox list.....

Nice! You’re one of the cars I want to see #'s on as I think you will do well…

It’s the last Wed. TNT for Thompson this year and the weather looks decent… As long as I don’t get held up at the office or have to p/u my son I’m there… Semi called out by an older gentlemen with a cammed/full exhaust/sprayed(100) 01/02 TransAm… Was at my buddies and his neighbor came over to check my car out… As we were looking at the car and talking he casually asked “hey did you ever consider taking this to the strip to see what it would do”… I was like yeah it’s been to Thompson for a few hundred passes to which he looked at me a little like WTF! He asked what it ran and when I told him he flat out didn’t believe me… lol I didn’t have any slips in the car so I gave him my youtube username and told him to see for himself… He then told me he would rather run me and wanted to know if I would go to Thompson on Wed. I said sure if I can make it and I told him I would let me friend know either way… I later found out that he ran 12.0 at 120ish with a 2.0 60ft time since he is only running DR’s, at least that is what he told my friend… Was a warmer day also so probably not the best DA… Cars a 6-speed as well so he has to be on his game… If I go I’ll try to get it on vid…

You should beat him in the S4 first then the TTRS on race gas after.

Here’s my graph from a dig into 5th so 4 gear changes… Can you spot the shifts?

DA was -115, temp 59 degrees.

You have nothing on jwow’s tune… Itguy, you know an employee went 10.3 60-130 in 3351da :stuck_out_tongue: ::slight_smile:

Bet there wasn’t a slope and the file says the same… Lol. Make sure to ask him for his 1/4 mile slip… Oh that’s right he won’t have one… Lol

Those look like pretty normal quick shifts. Is there something I’m missing?

On a long wide graph over quite a bit of time the shifts always look very slight. Do a graph of 30-70 mph which will take about 3.5 seconds. The 2 shifts will be quite obvious.

Sorry but that time was done with a decline lol

+3300 DA and 70F temps LOL

hater… ;D

Ok that’s gotta be a joke.

Nah, I would refer to it as creative marketing… IE bullshit…

He said it was turbocharged. Not sure any of it was serious.

Anyway, good of him to post it. Now we can see all of their files, since that URL isn’t protected. The files are inexplicably hosted on a subdirectory of a website for a Turkish American comic named Shayma Tash.

Anyway…

Here is a random DSG I dug up at work computer (no clue the location though…1000 ft elevation, think they might be Ron’s runs from his track day when he had pbox)…

there you go. You can see those two shifts pretty easily on the short graph.

It’s interesting that you’re still accelerating while shifting 1-2 and 2-3. The 3-4 tends to be losing MPH though. 4-5 is really losing. I guess the dynamics of fighting wind resistance are a helluva drug at high speeds.

I also start going slightly uphill in the end of the run which probably has to do with that.

Wasn’t referring to you since the graph tsivas posted only shows 80 mph.

I’ve noticed it on my own graphs. It’s just interesting. You can see the slope of the shift is quite upwards on the 1-2 and 2-3 but if you get a zoom in on a 3-4 you see it plateaus and the 4-5 it actually drops.

The RS4 was reasonably slippery , drag wise. Wonder how the B8 S4 compares in that respect.
