It’s a bit weird that AWE is doing nothing towards stage III. I’m very surprised because if you’re buying a 4 year old high mileage B8 S4 today for $28,000 and htinking of your modification path, it’s pretty apparent that a GIAC/AWE route is a dead end, based on what the companies have said.
There are 3 types of car modifiers
- those who will go stage 1 or 2 and never get deeper, and don’t plan to
- those who will go stage 1 or 2 but leave things open to going deeper down the line
- those who will definitely push the platform as far as they can take it
GIAC has basically shot themselves in the foot for groups 2 and 3, because smart money is on APR if you’re one of them.
Of course then there are those who might go GIAC and switch to APR, but that’s a small portion of the market. You don’t build a business plan around that little group.
I’m pretty sure GIAC or AWE knows what I just wrote…so I reckon we will start hearing about GIAC/AWE stage III pretty soon.
