Updated Vbox list.....

You will never see the 4.0T in a RS4 or RS5… It’s too much for the car and is un-needed. Also it doesn’t need that to compete with the M3/4 which is released and a disaster IMO.

BMW is epic fail. My cousins M5 has been in service more than on the road, my moms old X5 was a piece of shit and my good friend is a tech there and hates all their cars also… Matter of fact he has a 335is that he leases for close to nothing since he’s an employee and consistently tips on it…

Audi is far ahead of the game…

I’d take an RS5 over an M4 anyday… Have fun modding a M4 it’s a 335… I’ll take that high revving B8 anyday thank you very much…

I don’t DD the 997 at all and it doesn’t work when I have the baby with me. I have an SUV as well for winter/towing. I doubt the S6 idea will move forward, but it is appealing at least on paper.

That’s unnecessary. Buy a low mileage B7 RS4 4.2 FSI for $40,000. That’s for a minter. The 4.2 FSI in the RS4 comes with forged internals, revs to 8200 RPM and (so far) has handled 600 hp (crank) pretty comfortably. Then put a stage 2+ JHM supercharger on it, and no S6 on the planet will be within 10 car lengths of you unless he puts $20,000 into his car for a not-yet-existing stage 3 kit. THe Rs4 will be on 93 octane by the way. With the extra $20,000 you have in your pocket you can line up a serious pile of maintenance costs for the 5 year old RS4, if that’s a concern.

It’s the 4.0T that impresses me the most about the S6, not really the looks/size of it. I’m not married yet, nor do I have kids, and i’m only 5’8" so I definitely don’t need the space… it’s just that damn engine. I really hope the 4.0T makes it to the next gen RS4, and I think it should if Audi expects to compete with the next gen M3/4.

Salmon you have even more choice in awd machines hahaha.

I think your S4 is a pretty sweet ride, considering the lap times you can cut at the track.

With my 5 and 9 year-olds they have no problems in the S4, no need for anything bigger, and we travel a lot. If they’re alone they are supremely disappointed if I don’t take the NSX, especially my 5-year old girl who likes to shift. I keep waffling between looking at buying a GT3 or 997TT since I know they would LOVE to both go everywhere in the TT.

The way I see it in a couple years the 997TT will be a family car for you.

Auditude 2.0T —> 3.0T —> 4.0T?

The question that I asked about BMW 3-4 years ago was : how will BMW, who have NEVER had a turbo charged motor in their history, handle the reliability and maintenance issues that converting their ENTIRE FLEET to turbos within 1 refresh cycle will bring.

So far, not so good.

All the base models (320, 535 etc) are turbo
All the upgraded model (335, 550 etc) are turbo
All the M cars are turbo

Or… Auditute 2.0T —> 3.0T —> 2.5T —> 4.0T? ;D

no, 2.0T, 4.2, 2.2T, 3.0T, 3.0T, then whatever happens

Actually his dad was the original auditude…auditude4.2 or something (A6 4.2?)

I like the way you think

My dad was AuditudeA642 lol…

I went from:

A4 2.0T
S4 4.2
A4 2.0T
S4 2.2T
A4 2.0T
S4 3.0T
S4 3.0T

I actually purchased the RS4 from my dad after he did the 20’s and suspension bc he preferred it stock but I ended up selling it to a friend 3 months later so I never really got to have much fun with it…

My dad gave it to me for a really good deal and my friend ended up giving me good money for it so I split that profit with my pops and that’s when we both got into the B8 world.

Wow lots of cool cars there. Is that vtt car mental? Wonder what it would do at the strip. It’s the same blower jhm uses. What level of boost do they run it at? Edit 8.5 just saw

P. S. tsivas ever launch his car?

I have Saki. Few times with bad results. Slips pretty bad. Tech said I should be looking for clutch soon (~55k miles).

M3 is insane. Pete drove it. He said down low it wasn’t that impressive but after 6000 rpms - the thing was an animal. Especially 4th gear.

Good stuff guys! Yeah that M3 seems pretty damn fast… I’m sure traction would be an issue from a dig but if that thing could hook, look out… 335 seems pretty stout as well… Who’s S6? Has it been to the strip? Oh and the DA you guys get just kills me… So jealous…

Really they come on at 5000.

Fortunately 5000 on that car is midrange, rather than what your mind tells you 5000 is. When I first drove an rs4 I was shifting at 6700, leaving 1500 rooms untapped. You have this reference point of what xxxx rpms means but then you’re in a high raving v8 and you have to readjust. If your car has a 7000 rpm redline, 5000 on the bm is like 4100 in the b8 assuming speeds in gears are the same.

Not impressive down low is interesting. That thing makes ~300 wtq at 3000 and 350 by 4500. The top end power levels of 500-550 whp changes your perspective and probably makes it feel slower earlier on. That blower on the rs4 works well. Makes a bit more torque earlier on and just carries it endlessly.

Was the guy tuned for meth or just 93?

On pump that m3 would likely be good for mid 11s at 125. There was a shop car in new york/new Jersey that went 10.x on pump gas. Not sure if meth
