ya… I wanted to include all three branches of the gov’t. so missed executive. So the legislative and judiciary as the senate and house respectively. Misspoke, my bad
Uhh, don’t want to be the stickler for details here but Congress IS the Legislative branch (which consists of the House and Senate). The Judicial branch has nothing to do with the House of Representatives.
LOL I’m not a teen, I’m a second year med student, good try though. I thought liberals were supposed to be the party of peace? Land of opportunity is however you make it for yourself, not to be handed to everyone like the liberals would like it to be…but good job at diverting everything relevant in my post to personal attacks.
If you want to talk about relevant health care issues I would be more than happy to discuss it since I have hands on experience with the USA healthcare problem. My question for you is where is the tort reform in the American healthcare system? If there is anything to model off of the Canadian system it is two things: 1- tort reform 2-allowing the states (in Canada it is providences) to control their own healthcare. We have 300 million people here and you really think the federal government can regulate healthcare effectively? Obamacare couldn’t even get their website right the first day it was available. Heck they are going broke over mailing letters…come on now, be realistic. Ambulance chasers are a major part of the high cost of healthcare whether you would like to believe it or not.
Sure, I’ll just have to completely disagree with you guys. I’ll leave it at that. Can’t have a discussion with people who can’t use logic or live in their own bubble.
This part is true and why physicians spend 80% of their time now documenting. Another ridiculous expenditure is end of life care keeping patients alive for those few extra days-months who are in a vegetative/comatose/terminal states
At the same time we can’t just pull the plug or you’ll end up in jail like Kevorkian. I’ve written quite a few right to die papers as an undergrad and the only way the system can change what you mention is if it mandated everyone to have a living will and directly state medical procedures you approve of.
But the ambulance chasers go further than just forcing doctors to document, they have been doing that for since day 1. The difference is the insurance companies are forcing doctors to take “extra precautionary procedures” in order to save themselves from law suits, ie: more tests than necessary to rule out the .01% chance of something. What does this do to insurance prices? They rise, and all companies do so at the same rate and there is nothing you can do since the market is an oligopoly. So doctors lose, patients lose, insurance companies break neutral, lawyers can keep making money off non-issue suits. So the question becomes: are insurance companies the only ones to be going after to lower HC prices? So far Obamacare proves that is not the case…
Not all states, for example in OR there is patient assisted suicide. Physician supplies the method and the patient admins it. Still illegal for the physician to give the euthanasia
The thing I don’t understand about the suicide person is the people who try and commit suicide for some reason they don’t die and that’s it. They stop trying. Why? Why don’t they just keep trying? What has changed? Is their life any better now? No. In fact it’s worse because now they’ve found out one more thing you stink at. Okay, that’s why these people don’t succeed in life to begin with. Because they give up too easy. I say, pills don’t work? Try a rope. Car won’t start in the garage? Get a tune up. You know what I mean? There’s nothing more rewarding than reaching a goal you have set for yourself.
Lol, you don’t want to know my outlook on suicide.
It was hard dealing with suicidal people in the military. That is the last place they should be, but if you are suicidal there were no repercussions. I’m not saying a person should be punished, but they should be treated and discharged because they honestly have no purpose to me or anyone else in a leadership role if they aren’t mentally prepared to deal with some of the stresses we have to endure.
End Rant.
On a side note, did anyone see that the Amber alert site was shutdown, but Michelle Obama’s “let’s move” site is still up and running. I guess they’d rather keep kids from getting fat rather than protect them from kidnappers and rapists.
