It’s friday night and I was sent this video and allowed to post it here.

This is the same catback that is on A6V8s car and the same that a few other guys on here have as well… It just has the cats still on it Vs headers and no cats. In A6V8s video.

As I’m sure the guys who have this can tell you. Video isn’t as good as it is in person. I heard this in person and it’s hard for me to not go pick up a V10 right now just for the sound over my V8.

Some quick thoughts. I went for a ride in this car before it got the 3" exhaust. What the owner of the car did first was to remove the resonator and mufflers. The car was loud and it was not enjoyable inside the car if you were just normal driving. The ouside sound was nice but it was really broken. The tone was nice but the exhaust wasn’t sharp.

After the catback 3" with X pipe was put in the response and sharpness was there. The car actually sounds close to stock on the inside. You can hear a light humm with the bigger 3" but its quieter then with the resonators and mufflers removed. From the outside the 3" sounds to me much nicer and sharper.

Performance and sound. Its a very nice combination. Cool stuff coming out for the V10 guys this year.

Pretty sure the car in that video just has the catback and not the headers.

Anyway we can get this on YouTube :slight_smile: also a little thrown off by the statement, “It just has the cats still on it Vs headers and no cats.”

Does that mean factory headers with cats removed or? Also if he did the catback did he also do the tune? Want to hear feedback on that too :slight_smile:

Sorry guys in my excitement I didnt make the post that well.

The exhaust in the video is just a catback. 3 inch.

I know a few guys on here have it. It is a custom built set up. I believe there is another guy getting one built right now Im sure he will post a video of his exhaust as well.

The exhausts are built local here. If anyone wants more information let me know. I dont know what information I can post in the open forum.

I took that to mean

this car (S8 5.2) has just a catback along with stock headers, stock catalytic converters

not to be confused with the other exhaust video we recently saw for V8A6 who has an S6 with headers and a catback

Just now able to watch this. Sounds pretty amazing. Looks similar to my setup but 3" vs. 2.75", I think I see some resonators as well, I didn’t have those either.

I would be interested to see some videos from inside the car to see how loud it is at idle, cruising, light/hard throttle. Hopefully there isn’t too much drone at 80 MPH

I love the WOT part. It’s ridiculously good sounding.

The car seems so restrained up until then, like it’s jonesing to explode. Then it finally does. Pretty wild hearing a V10 at 6700 RPM or whatever it is. I can only imagine what 8500 would sound like if this had the R8 5.2 engine and this exhaust chain

I have a friend who winters 2 hrs from you guys with an R8 5.2

I have ridden in the car in the video, and I can tell you that in person it sounds absolutely incredible !!!

Roughly 3K for the exhaust which is the best price I have seen so far on the market.

Labor time is roughly 6-8 hours.

We are making a video of the before and after etc… and I will post a snippet teaser hopefully today or tomorrow! I will make a new thread for it as well to not clutter this one.

Man that sounds good.

I love the sound of v10’s. Favorite sounding one still has to be the e60/e63 m5/6 with an eisenmann race exhaust.

Maybe I’m off but start of the video looks familiar… is that near Woodward ave?

I actually like the exhaust sound of the 5.2 audi v10 over the 5.0 v10 in the m5/m6 on most occasions. The audi also sounds much better in person compared to the bmws.

Personal opinion, but it just sounds deeper/meatier; the bmw one is just so high pitched and F1 that it is almost impossible to fly under the radar…which I guess is a good or bad depending on what you are looking for :slight_smile:

lol yes that road.

After cruising down woodward, my buddies and I would make some noise through that underpass you see in the beginning of the video before hopping on the same freeway for some pulls… This was a few years back before law enforcement really stepped up on woodward. Now its Milan or nothing for me

Sounds very nice like my Milltek system, ill have to do a video when i get my new gopro camera in the coming weeks
