what’s the point?
anyone doing this swap is wasting their time money and sanity. Or they’re doing it for someone, and taking people’s money and wasting those people’s time, money and sanity for their own profit.
a 4.0T is a V8 and is a cool engine but
-
it’s massive compared to the 3.0T. The length alone will make this retarded and will result in removing the firewall or some other sketchy detail that will make you scratch your head
-
the 3.0T is delivering incredible performance as it is…we’re seeing guys running in the low low 11s @ 120+ on race fuel, and mid-high 11s @ 116-117 or so on pump. A 4.0T will certainly be faster, but not enough to get you excited
-
the money, time and effort required will make you say 'why didn’t I just buy a 4 year old S6 and tune it?
All in all it’s one of those silly projects that isn’t worth it, thus won’t get bought, and thus won’t get done.
Someone will say ‘don’t be a hater’ or something retarded. That’s fine. You put up the $25,000 for the S4, the $15,000 for a crate 4.0T (on sale) and the $10,000 in work/fabrication and ruining of your 3.0T to end up with a 4.0T 2011 S4 that cost $50,000…the same price as a good used 2014 S6.
Here’s one…low miles and has warranty and audicare.
Can’t even tell it apart from a B8 S4 anyway lol
