Auditude… you realize he was referencing the b5 s4 with 10k in mods… not the b8 s4.
You’ve misread his post. He was complimenting the b8 s4 in saying it was easy to make it beat the b5, which had 10k in mods… and then threw in the rs4 as being capable of easily beating the b5 s4.
He is not saying the b8 s4 needed 10k in mods, which I think is what you are assuming.
Regardless, rs4 runs low 12s with tune/piggies, simple lol.

I’m not hating on you or fighting with you but just want to make sure you understand that you have a tendency to knock the S4 and raise the RS4 on a pedestal in posts all the time.
I had a B6 S4 and my dad had a B7 RS4. Trust me I love Audi V8’s and I’d rock an RS4 in a heartbeat. Just making it clear that an S4 doesn’t need more $ in mods than an RS4 to run good times, in fact it needs a lot less.

This all started Pete because you didn’t read what I wrote. I mentioned that a B8 modded like the video car would run mid to low 12s. A b5 S4 with $10,000 in mods could barely hang with it at low speeds (through the quarter mile for example). A B7 RS4 would also run mid to low 12s with barely any mods.
You turned that into
me saying the RS4 is a B8 killer (I never said anything of the sort)
me knocking the B8 S4 (all I did was compliment the fuck out of it for being able to sit beside an extensively modded B5 S4)
me artifically low balling RS4 mod prices (I never did anything of the sort)
me saying that the B8 needs more money in mods to match an RS4 (this is fucking laughable…you just straight made this up)
I put together that giant quarter mile list on the site, entering every data point with my own keyboard. Don’t forget that I know more about B5 S4, B7 RS4, B8 S4 quarter mile times than you ever will.
I have no problem with Saki. I just wanted to clear this stuff up. We’ve been on good terms and I’d like to keep it that way since I feel both of us are good contributors to the forum.

I’m a fan of all automobiles especially all Audi’s and the last thing i want is to bash other Audi platforms. I always give credit where credits do, and the RS4 is an exceptional machine and runs very well. But so does the S4 and both do with similar money in mods.
You can’t go wrong either way, it’s just a matter of preference.

You never “knock” the S4 however as soon as you throw a compliment it’s way there’s always reference to an RS4 with minimal mods matching it’s performance.
You always in every thread give low ball $ for RS4 mods. Like a piggy/tune RS4 running low 12’s when there’s a 12.4x on the list and that’s it.

Yeah it might be $1,800 for a tune and pulley but the performance were getting IMO is worth the money. That’s just my opinion of course.

A JHM tune + piggies RS4 will most certainly hang with any tune and exhaust B8 S4 (a mid to low 12s car) in a quarter mile run. If you want an $8,000 modlist on the B8 S4 to make you feel better, that’s cool. Can I spend $8,000 on the RS4 too? if so, let me dial in a JHM Vortech V3 supercharger kit ($7900) + piggies (free). I will run in the 11s on california 91. Do you really think this is going to go well for the B8 S4?
So, to stay on topic, I will say again: tune + exhaust B8 S4 = tune + piggies RS4 = most stage III B5 S4 (K04 or equivalent turbos).

$8,000 in mods in the B8 S4 and all the RS4 needs is the blower but all the supporting mods including the clutch is not included in that price. Tsivas doesn’t have a clutch so Saki will add that on and say 10k in the B8 S4 when realistically I put 6500 into my car including Testpipes and a clutch and it was 6500.
I brought it up because Tsivas $8000 modlist becasue he was boasting about how he beat Tony’s car. Seriously? Tony is literally not even modified, and Tsivas has just about everything thrown at it possible. Who cares what the race result was? You asked if a lightly modded RS4 could really hang with a B8 S4 with tune etc. and I said OF COURSE> I asked you to remember your dad’s REVO tune, the most aggressive tune of them all, and Tony’s RS4 which hung in there really well. He wasn’t even fucking modified.
I asked Tsivas to remember racing Paul to 130…where they were tied…when paul was barely modified. Tsivas had tune + whatever else.

you don’t need a clutch on an RS4 to run a stage 1 supercharger. This is simple stuff man. I explained this earlier. $7900 for the blower, piggies are free DIY. Bam…you have a very fucking potent car that will put up 117 mph trap speeds easing out of the gate. On 91 california gas. You really want to argue this point? It’s a cfuge. It’s not a TVSr blower. It’s not adding 200 WTQ at 2000 RPM. IT’s adding loads of top end. It doesn’t hit like a ton of bricks, and cause your clutch to explode.
The stock RS4 clutch is VERY strong, unless you’re a shit driver (see mickf29 et al). There’s really no reason to argue this point. You don’t need a catbcak. You don’t need JHM downpipes. You don’t need LW rotors and a shifter. You need NONE of it to put up a car that would obliterate tsivas or you on 91 octane. It wouldn’t be remotely close from a dig or from a roll. That’s the only reason I mentioned it…it would be like clubbing a baby seal…which is what Tsivas vs. Tony is.
Again, I said mid to low 12s cars. Not 11 second cars. Not $10,000 modlist cars.
Mid to low 12s can be had for under $1000 in an RS4.
It can be had for $3,000 in a B8 S4 (liike that guy in the video).
It needs $10,000 in a B5 S4. The B5 S4 is dead.
I agree with you that it will be an awesome car and a very fun car indeed. I just don’t think it’ll last very long on all other 100% stock components. Otherwise people wouldn’t be running JHM clutches with bolt ons and APR wouldn’t have ran their DXD clutch kit on their 1/4 mile runs.
I agree and disagree. Again this is my opinion and after my dad had clutch issues with his RS4 I find it hard to beleive it will last…
I’m sure you have perfected the 1/4 mile on your RS4 and maybe you drive it so perfectly (which I believe 100% with your knowledge on the platform) that you don’t have issues. However I don’t think that speaks for the masses
