Let me play this out for you.
If The race will go down and he will say he won. OR he will say it was close but then say the other car had more mods…NO one will be able to varify this and the end its going to be a cluster fuck. Guys like him that go aginsed the grain and are so fucking stupid that after a nearly 20:1 raito of people giving the JHM Tune great reviews and a good section of those guys SWITCHING from the Uni tune to the JHM tune and then mentioning the differece in the switch was great…come on.
He is one of those guys that wants to try and show the public how smart he is. He is going to go out of his way to make it look like he made the right move on his chip. While some of his posts sound like he is attempting to down play this you can expect that he is going to start making a push to try and make him self look smart for getting the tune.

Yep. I’ve only seen one instance of a uni chip beating a JHM tune, cant find the thread but the other car had a bunch of supporting mods and was significantly lighter? I’m sure someone on here remembers.

Yeah interesting post… I assume a full bolt on JHM car means the works, headers, tune, IM, proper cat back and some light weight goodies. Even if he was just going against a JHM piggy car with a good 2.5 cat-back I don’t see this guy having a chance. His mod list says it all…
Corsa cat-back - pretty sure it’s 2.5 so that’s a good start
Piggies or aftermarket DP’s - no mention of any so I assume he’s on stock DP’s
Evoms CAI - probably loosing some pwr there
Uni tune - weak sauce

So uni tune and CAI?? wow I have to agree with chrisK. Thats two of the mods most everyone knows are not worth the money. I have to agree that this race will have to be about trying to convince himself that he didn’t waste his money. so you can expect a jump in the race.
Ill behonest thats how Ive done it before. Even if you don’t have a big ego you don’t want to loose. when you know you spent money on BS parts and its too late to go back and you can’t get your money back you can bet he will be jumping on the start to try and make this seem like a good investment.
don’t forget his 20 x 9.5 inch wheels . Those things SCREAM performance minded

A real head to head race was never on the table. He was just going to do a dyno run along with his buddy who had other bolt ons.
Claims 282 hp and 284 tq. In the end though, that pretty much means nothing as every dyno is different.

So beem was on a tune from probably 1.5 years ago so let’s keep that in mind. Even with the LWFW and LWCP, the car with 2.25 catback is still down roughly 25hp. That is HUGE.
I don’t believe the m-dub numbers. I’m pretty sure even the JHM stock DP cars are not putting down that much.
I agree Joe. Something doesn’t seem right. I would love to hear from the other person that was “upset” with the numbers. A JHM car with an intake??

In the end. It really is a win for the JHM car. Not to mention the fact that this debate has happened several times now and the JHM products have come out on top everytime. I don’t see this any different.
As it was stated. V8S4Ryan has a intake (hot air?) so thats not helping. and then look at the 2.2 AWE no X catback. This is going to be a serious issue especially when you couple that with catless dps that have no restriction/back pressure you have no proper back pressure to help make more power… and yet still the difference was large in the favor of Ryan.
16whp and 20wtq on a NA car. let alone who knows the condition of the motor. Thats a huge win for Ryan and JHM. Its also not the same mods same car so the end result is pointless to a degree but if your looking its good for ryan.
I just found it funny. A flywheel isn’t going to help your dyno numbers. Light smaller rims are going to hurt your numbers. So to a degree is a LW crank pulley. All these three things is going to help the car accelerate but when you look at a dyno its going to give a negative impact.
what happens is. The heavy wheels and flywheel will help keep the motor momentum when the dyno loads up to test resistance. The inertia of the heavy parts helps keep the tq up. Not only that but the one guy being a wagon if they didn’t adjust the weight that is going to effect the results as well.
If your not spot on with the weight your not going to get a proper reading either. There is just so many things to add.
In the end. I think this has exposed more of M-dub trying to justify his purchase at Ryans expense. when in fact it just made M-dub look stupid.
yeah my tune was from Feb 2009. The catback is gonna to really limit what those other mods can do, especially compared to how my catback was constructed.
damn news spreads like wild fire!!! lol i was going to the dyno to see what it made he (m-dub) was the one making this into a big deal. i will run him at the track all day no worries slammed on the ground. lol!! on my two hour drive home thinking about what the issue was. it popped in my head my catback blows so im going to fix with something proper. now i do think his wheels are 19’s also but not sure. oh and he posted some crazy number i made 299awhp and 298awtq. (not 302awtq) so whatever. i will say he was bragging that he was only 20 whp behind me and how jhm wasnt worth the cash and my resopnse was i got launch assist do you?? answer NO!!! thanks for confirming that the exhaust is my weak point. i will dyno again with proper 2.5 exhaust. and im going to the track in a few weeks to compare my old 1/4 mile times with my huge wheels of 14.0 time lol.
your catback exhaust sucks…so it’s kinda killing the good work you’re doing with the trexturk catless downpipes and the JHM intake manifold. Not the end of the world, and sorry to be the 9th guy to slam the awe part but hey, it’s true. It sucks.
DESPITE this…you still made about 40 whp and 50 wtq over stock…and you made 20/20 or so more than the Unitronic stage 2 car. Doesn’t this guy (who was talking all kidns of shit) know that, in dyno terms, for an NA car, he just got FUCKING OWNED? I mean what’s he mean saying your parts aren’t worth anything? Just wondering…where did you guys dyno? Are they a unitronic dealer?
I imagine with a proper Fast Intentions catbac you would dyno closer to 315 whp/310 wtq. Hell, I’ll give you $10 towards the dyno if you want to go back.
I have to say though ryan, I’m disappointed. An audirevolutionary, and you didn’t do pulls with Mbud? WTF dude?

Also, one thing just to point out that has been in question before. ON A DYNO, the “hot air intake” MAY perform better as it’s in ideal conditions with the hood open and fans blowing air to it compared to the OEM air box which is meant to use the real world driving situation to create performance. On the strip & real world, it’s not even a question. But I think this was the result in B8 land to some extent as well.
sakimano I will be going to the track with him to settle this. I dont care if he gets catless dp before then either its not going to give him 20/20 more hp. Or a good tune. So I shoyld still win. But I will take him down at the knees watch!
