Will it blend? (BritishTurbo build)

BT, how long until the 3.0 liter block gets put in?

the gap is evident in your third gear pull pseudo dyno above…a big gap in your powerband from 0-5000 RPMs.

That’s a bit of an exageration… lol
And besides the largest rev drop (given my ~8000 rpm shift) is from 1st to 2nd, which is a drop down to around 4500 with the sloppy shift at the track… which with the nitrous is right back into the power band… so I think you’ll be surprised what the car will do with nitrous and clean shifting

I don’t know… I haven’t worked on it much given all the stuff I have been working on with the car lol

I was just clarifying that for 1 and 2 you are up against it with that powerband you posted above. If you don’t think so, we will agree o disagree. If you are launching from 3500-4000 RPM, you’re launching with 200 lb ft of torque. a.k.a. like an A4 3.2. That’s not very dynamic. Then you’re shifting into 2nd gear pretty quick because there’s not much of it, and are falling out of boost again. Then you’re back on to boost but now you’re at the 300 foot mark and have spent 25% of the track fighting the odds. That’s a huge gap in your powerband, and as I said, the nitrous will hopefully help you out early. You don’t need much help on the top end, although it’s falling off hard at 7000. You don’t see too many dynos where a car hits boost at 5000 RPM, make peak HP at 5500 RPM, and then lose power to redline…which is 2500 RPM later.

I don’t think I will be surprised what a B5 S4 with clean shifting, nitrous, and 35+ pounds of boost will do. Have a look here…I compiled all of the data in this list. I’m well aware of what cars should or shouldn’t do.

Let me know if you want me to add the 11.7 @ 132 to the list. It’s a good data point for non-nitrous, single turbo not at your biggest boost level.

If you leek at this image:

You’ll see I launched at around 5000… and shifted at over 8000rpm each time. The Red line is rpm.

And yeah I’m going to get you that info to add to the list lol sorry been busy

btw I see my MPH would be 2nd on the list already… lol not too shabby ;D

#3… sorry

Dude…stop yiur suposed to be the staacceleration the b5 guys not more of the same…

Its not called the 1/4 mph list. 3rd best mph and 21st slowest time. Your 60ft isnt going to get you into the 10s. Your 3rd gear fats times just showed the fats time is a joke when it relates t0 1/4 mile atime… seriously dump all the wasted b5 back seat partisipation medal bs…

Come on man…you showed a 1.9 but a 11.7… your power band is taking a beating due to some lag issies and your on E85 your spooling has evdr best chance now that your adding 40% ectra fuel…

You can put njtrous on a 11.7 1.8t car and get it to wake up quite a bit…its nitrous. …

Here is my point. …you didnt do too bad… you knkw where your at with the set up…11.7 is about stajdard range for all stage 3+ b5 cars…the mph just says you took a different approach to tbe power band…keep at it bt style not b5 style…

lol wow, actually what all the data tells me is that when I learn to drive the car at the track - including launching properly, shifting well etc… is that the car will do 10’s. If you choose not to believe that then so be it.

Oh and the spool was better on pump gas actually… but then the E85 tune isn’t dialed in yet at all.

Don’t pretend you know how I drove the run from the ET… because you can’t see all the time that I know I lost by driving shitty, which I know cause I was the one driving lol.

I guess I’ll just show you when it happens. Carry on

As far as stage 3+ B5 cars… here’s an overlay of my car vs a very well tuned FT21 car.

Wow this is all a fail…congratulations on being no different then everyother b5 failure. … what you need is more logs and graphs to help show us your 11.7 car is a 10 second car…I would say good luck but its alreaey too late and you have the same book of excuses every other b5 guy does…dude do you seriously expect us to believe you drove all that way and took your family to the track so you could run your untuned b5…sure dude its the tune… ::slight_smile:

BT your a pretty cool guy, but don’t turn into “my car is definitely a 10sec car because of the trap” type of guy.

I like your statement about “showing us when it happens” That is exactly what you should do…shut us up with a 10 sec pass and we will congratulate the hell out of you.

Did you get any other diehard B5 guys to make the track trip with you?

I agree…im a big fan turning into a big waste…more of the same as everyone else…graphs excuses

I’d like to see how BT improves the tune and irons out the other kinks before lumping him in with typical B5 owners.

I’m guessing here but I’d like to think he was excited to give it some shakedown runs. He did put this build together rather quickly, I think anyone would be eager to get it to the track regardless what phase the tune is in.

8ur’s is still trying to locate his ecu but still has many claims left unclaimed. BT didn’t claim anything plus he is on a temporary setup.

I think I’d be patient with this one.

We werre and still are patient… the onky comments came out when the graphs and excuses started to fly atter wanting a pat on the back for a mph and the 21st slowest time…

Being honest… bt has said he tunes for people but can’t put together a solid tune…after you brag on how you tune and saying you have tuned other e85 cars that makes no semce…or he is a liar…we saw his graph he posted…he went to the track on the tune… if he didnt think it was a sokid tune then why did he go to the track… he went to the track because he saw his graph and thought he had some goods…he does…still the story isnt eny different with his build… put a turbo on thats too big and you get impressive mph and the same results as the other big hp cars…mid to high 11s

His point of we will be impressed how much faster the car is with nitrous is nice but this isnt AZ most of the guys here know there shit…so actually no one is going to be impressed… on the bottle if he works more on his set up then his excuses he should be able to kjock down a solid time…

Is shifting and 60ft going to make this 11.7 time a 10.9 time. No… thats a solid .9 of a second he needs

With that said grest build… great time great mph…better then others have done but he was on e85 and even tial turbos can be made fsst on e85… im all for bt doing better and its clear he has some tools in his bag to help him

Ssying it again to be clesr…I still think the project and bt are and I do think there is more…bt I dont think is going to stop with this 11.7 time…my issies have nothing to do with me thinking this isnt still very impressive… for me man to man…once the graphs excuses and oh look I did something that puts me in 3rd place came out my impression of bt went away with them…that simple…I expected a much different response from bt not the typical participation excuse fest…I know it wasnt full blown but I did expect a different line frok him…

BT, next time you had better take a picture of you family in your car so the people on internetland can see ::slight_smile:

And your car is really slow BTW :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think him bussing a buss load of nuns or his family cbanges anything… oh my bad ur a b5 guy tooo… its part of the make am excuse play book for you… I dont think you need to b5save BT tho…he Iis a smart guy he can do ok on his own…the issue isnt anything other then bis responces to his results and the responces to the counter points made… the bu8ld and his talent there still look grest

Wow relax guys.
First of all I haven’t done any E85 tunes for anyone else. Some have asked and I said not until I have a good feel for it.
I went to the track with my 3rd revision of my E85 tune I think.
Why did I go to the track? Because the car is pretty damn fast and I wanted to see how it did and to get some seat time that’s why.
My goals for the track were 11s and 120+mph. So I met my goals.

As for the mph Omg I just pointed it out for fuck sake. What I’m not allowed to be proud of it? Geesh

And since when was studying data and logs a bad thing? How the hell are you supposed to tune and go faster without logs and data? Like really.

And so now my goals are 10s and 140mph. What’s wrong with that?

Anyway… some data to stew on. At the track I didn’t run nitrous. Without nitrous the fats time is 2.4.
With the nitrous the fats time today was 1.88.
That’s a significant difference in response in the 1-2 and 2-3 shift zones so I know it will go a lot faster next time.

And yes the car is tuned well enough to drive the family around. it doesn’t mean its 100% perfectly dialed in lol.

Anyway… enjoy this little video I took in 3rd.

Cheers guys.
