World's Fastest B7 RS4?

Congrats to JHM! Looking forward to the results over the next few years on this platform and the RS5 for that matter… IMO DSG cars will perform that much better…

Also, glad someone went the centrifugal route… I loved my Vortech on my Mustangs, IMO very well suited for the drag strip…

it would be nice to see after JHM full release for both companies to meet at common ground and do a shoot out… that would be fun and interesting…

also just want to confirm did both run pump gas or race fuels for these pulls?

lastly to shed some light away from the RS4 for a second, the stage 1 kit Axel’s running is still putting out a great deal of fun but like everyone i would like to see more… Could this stage 2 setup potentially done on the S4 without the motor build? if not power wise could we at least see the cooling option become available for it?

It was also mentioned they tweaked the tune… is it possible the S4 guys may see a revision on the tune as well?

from what I recall a stg2 kit for the S4s is planned, similar a-w intercooler, fuel system and a new pulley. its intended for built motor cars.

an add on intercooler for the stg1 cars would be a nice option for someone doing road racing

Twit…this is very simple. Nobody is lying but you.

We said that the AMD density was -850, based on what the B8 S4 owner posted about the Wednesday night test and tune Density.
We said the JHM density was +100.

The AMD density was in fact -433 because they ran earlier in the night than the B8 S4 owner.
The JHM density was in fact +664

The difference was 1097 feet. A huge difference. In fact, the difference is MORE than we originally posted. -850 vs. +100 is actually 950 feet. The difference was, with timeslips etc to pinpoint the times, 1097 feet.

Nobody is fucking lying. Well you are. You are straight making shit up. ‘I calculated -270’. No you fucking didn’t. You got the wrong night and the wrong time. Try to keep up.

WHERE???

I said this about fuel:
JHM 91 tune vs. Aviva 92 tune (negligible, buit a difference…and JHM had 93 in the tank anyway…however on the
JHM 93 tune this will get REALLY interesting. Haven’t bothered with race gas because it’s just not necessary)

But when you factor in what JHM is accomplishing with WAY less boost, on stock fuelling, and with a car tuned for 91 (but running 93) it’s pretty staggering.
Show me where I say 93 makes no difference?

Reid…you suck at this. Just go home. You look like a crybaby. I am showing you facts and you are running around in circles.

agreed!!

No, here’s where it came from.

Notarmed was there the same night as AMD. HE ran his B8 S4. He reported that the DA over the course of the night ranged from -750 to -950 from like 8 to 10 PM. In his words ‘let’s call it an average of -850’.

That’s what I used because as I said, I asked jonathan from Aviva for their timeslips so I could get all of this information (exact times of runs etc) and they never followed up with it. Once I looked in the video after tweets shit his pants like a diaper wearing baby, I saw that they ran much earlier in the night when it was warmer. AMD DA was -433 closest to their record setting run. Notarmed’s estimate was off by 417 feet.

I also estimated DA for the JHM run based on a conversation I had with JHM about it. They said ‘DA sucked, it was around 100 feet’. When we look what it was when they actually ran their good times, it was actually +664 feet. So JHM’s own estimate was off by 564 feet.

All that matters is the difference in density altitude between the two runs. It’s ironic that when I quote someone who was actually there, in the absence of the exact time of the AMD run, and am off by 400 feet I am a liar in tweets book. However when I say DA was +100 feet for JHM, when it was actually +664 feet, a much bigger discrepency, tweets says NOTHING.

The difference between AMD and JHM overall was actually 1097 feet od density altitude, no tthe 950 feet estimated earlier. Thanks tweets…that makes the JHM time look EVEN BETTER.

As you know trap speed isn’t going to vary much between a good to great driver. So that’s easy to answer.

With respect to ET as you also know, launching the car will bring the biggest variable. Both JHM and AMD had high 1.8 times because they blew the tires loose on the launch.

So with respect to ‘driver mod’ Jason @ AMD can bang gears as can Jason @ JHM, however on each run both cars left some on the table by struggling with traction and posting mediocre 60 foot times. Their times are virtually identical here…we’re talking 2 hundredths and a tenth of MPH. They both got the same out of the car.

It should be mentioned that AMD and JHM are only 6 and 8 hundredths (100ths) faster than TTS was a full year ago, with a similarly shit 60 foot time (high 1.8 again).

There is only a ball hair between the three kits. How they go about it is very different of course.

This guy:

I am probably off on my whp guess for the stage two JHM SC. Then you followed up with this post.

Too bad I didn’t bet you a coke that it would run in the 11.3x.

The problem with running an intercooler and creating a cooler source of air for the stage 1 kit is that you end up running the risk of making too much power. I suggested that if a car in Canada is allowed to be supercharged (where we see ambient temps of -10 to -20 celsius each winter, and density altitude of -2000 feet or better) why would an intercooler be dangerous? It can hardly beat our cold dense winter air.

are they still discounting the kit? or is it still the intro price for the rs4… the kit for the s4 is slightly over 8k

JHM ran their california tune (for Cali 91) and put 93 octane in the tank
AMD ran their 92 octane PNW tune (for PNW 92) and put 92 octane in the tank
TTS ran their UK 98 tune (like our 93) with UK 98 in the tank.

All 3 were pump gas.

I can’t wait to see the JHM car tuned for 93 with some good 93-94 octane east coast pump gas in the tank.

When I was lining up @7:23pm, they confused me for the Audi that just went down the strip and wanted me to exit the staging area because I didn’t have the proper safety equipment to go low 11’s.

Also, drag times takes their readings from a local weather station miles away (Covington, WA) where as the the actual DA at the track was a little bit lower because PR sits in a valley (temps drop quicker). This works against DA when its hot, as it has a baking effect from a lack of wind flow.

I was also there for the 11.7X run, shall we discuss DA for that night as well?

Thanks for the input notarmed.

p.s. Nobody went 11.7X the other night you were there. Did you mean to say 11.8?

Couldn’t agree with you more in this regard. The top 3 are now within 1/10th for ET, leaving some room for improvement with better driving. I’m pretty sure they will all keep going for faster times with their kits “as is”, maybe not. 1/4 mile is silly to me, really thrashes the tranny and clutch just to show straight line performance. Fun to watch though and see everyone get hyped about their favorite tuners kit.

Anyway, good to see a “new” B5 take the stage and get serious power with reasonable money.

A bad driver can thrash a clutch/tranny DDing a car. A bad driver can thrash a clutch/tranny in any sort of racing IMHO. Things will break eventually, its the nature of the beast, but it’s good to see company’s showing what their kits can do in a performance/acceleration test that is recognized across all platforms.

Correct. 11.8

I typed this up while giving my 4 year old a bath this morning, so excuse my error.

That was the original point I was trying to make to JHM re getting an intercooler. If I’m allowed to run in -10c, then an intercooler during the summer months should, by deduction, be fine. JHM says they’ll be releasing an intercooler for the S4 stage 1 as optional. As soon as it’s available, depending on price, I’ll be jumping on it.

I don’t think the rs4 stage 1 kit needs new injectors whereas the s4 stage 1 does. That in itself is an added cost to the s4 kit. I think that’s one factor that plays in the pricing difference between the s4 and rs4 stage 1 kits.

Hell ya!.. From what i read it looks to be “massive” and claims to be at the 3k price point???
