XS-Power Longtube Headers for Audi B6 / B7 S4

It happened.

looks like we are half way to your goal of 4…

May have another guy purchasing them too, LOL. I can’t wait to see their posts when they realize they are junk. Even though they will probably say that they like them and its worth it because of how embarrassed they are for purchasing $1k of crap.

You would think one would learn from the past experience of others on the XSPower DPs…

I think there’s a check box when you sign up on this site regarding xspower. If you tick off that you’ve purchased their product your account doesn’t get created.

regarding the AZ thread its funny seeing someone who bought a junk supercharger system b/c it was cheap looking to do the same thing with headers

He’s gonna have to pull the motor anyway when that supercharger fucks his motor up lol

Things like these headers aren’t competition within the platform like most people would think. It’s just knock off junk, the same junk that plagues the B5 S4 world…

I can see it now…B6/7 S4 header…Billy bobo tuned, with XS power catbacks with a W-pipe running 14.5 1/4mile times at the dragstrip.

It’s bad enough all the fuckers who get JHM tuned complain because they actually have torque now! We can’t help it you fucking FWD civic with 40hp was easier to drive than an AWD V8. FUCK!

This is what happens when B6/B7 price points reach below 15K…

May the V8 gods bless the B6/B7 platform

id argue that the equal length isnt as big a deal on a crossplane motor to an extent but the collectors or lack thereof on these is apalling. i wouldnt be surprised if they flowed worse than stockers from the pulses hitting each other and stagnating.

David already explained why he purchased these headers to begin with, although most of you likely didn’t read it, he originally purchased JHM headers and AFTER A YEAR he still did not have the headers in his possession. $3000 for a set of headers for a $15K car is INSANE, what’s even more insane is having to wait over a year for them. David saw the opportunity to get a copy of those headers for 1/3 the price and he got them within a WEEK. What the outcome of these headers will be is something we will all see in time, give him a chance to complete his build and test them out.

Assumptions are being thrown left and right here when the ONLY person here to have even SEEN these headers in person is DAVID. Some even DARE say what materials they are made or not made of by looking at the PICTURES!! LMAO.

FWIW, I’ve tested MANY Chinese built headers and VERY RARELY have I had an issue with them ( except when used in turbo applications, then they generally suck ). They may not be high end race quality, but bang for the buck they are usually VERY good options. In regards to these headers, the ONLY person here that can post about their quality is David. So until he posts his results, STFU.

Wow… the only time there was a year lead time on the JHM Headers is when their machine shop had a fire and ALL production on JHM Headers came to a halt. AND on top of that JHM was REFUSING payment on headers until they were able to start making them again. So therefor, David never purchased JHM Headers and had to wait for a year to receive them, he was only told it will be a year until he could BUY them from JHM.

It’s funny how information can get so skewed.

::slight_smile:

what is funny is that this guy has these chinese headers…but has done ZERO before testing in order to do after testing and see if they work

As I said early on, I think they’ll be like catless downpipes. Here’s the generally accepted progression of downpipes quality from worst to best:

stock downpipes
aftermarket larger diameter downpipes with cats
piggies
gutted stock downpipes
aftermarket larger diameter catless downpipes
jhm headers with cats
jhm headers without cats

The chinese headers will fall somewhere in the middle of all that. If I was a betting man, I would say they’ll perform like 2.5" catless downpipes. Good…but not worth it. So if you take it a step further, and look at catless downpipes vs. China headers,

Catless headers= $450-550
Install = $200-$250 (approximatley)
Total = $650-800

China headers = $1000+$100 shipping
Install = $1000 (approximately…it’s likely more)
Total = $2100

So there’s a $1300-1450 premium over trexturk or milltek catless downpipes, for questionable quality items and questionably designed headers…from China…and your engine had to come out to install them…and there are zero proven gains over stock let alone over any other downpipes option. On top of this, the first guy to buy them is installing them without any proof of concept…nor is he going to do any testing that would show us delta vs. any other exhaust setup.

Can someone please point me to the part of this that looks promising?

This is somewhat unrelated to the headers, but here goes…

FWIW I have the XS downpipes on my RS4. Bought them from a member on here for dirt cheap so I said why not. Well, the shop had to modify the fuck out of them to fit, and even had to modify my Milltek system (cut off about an inch on one side) to mate up to them. They also had to move the O2 bungs since they were so poorly located they hit the transmission with the sensors in. I mean who the fuck puts sensors on the top of the downpipes? Why not put them on the side? Oh yea, I know, because XS does not give a fuck about the parts actually fitting.

So now I can only sell the whole exhaust setup together unless I re-weld the inch back onto the Milltek catback.

I will NEVER buy an XS product again. It’s cheap knockoff shit and XS could give 2 shits if the parts fit your car. Not like JHM, or other companies where they actually perform R&D and test fit the parts they make. For the money I spent getting these downpipes modified and fit, I could have at least had a set of Magnaflow DPs that actually fit the car.

I am willing to bet a lot of money that not only do those headers not fit properly, but perform like total shit and likely break in a relatively short timeframe.

My thinking was, hey, they are just downpipes, how can they fuck that up? Well, they can, and they did. XS products are not worth the cheap price you pay since you are in it for a REAL product once you get the pieces of shit to fit correctly.

Don’t get me wrong, the car sounds AWESOME, but not until the downpipes were hacked and re-hacked just to fit properly.

If anyone is interested I am going to be selling my full 2.5" catless setup for RS4, fits perfectly now after the modifications. I decided I am going to purchase the full JHM exhaust because I don’t think there is a better system on the market, personally.

holy crap that sucks.

Pulling your engine and fitting XS power headers would be a good laugh. Can you imagine how brutal it would be if they can’t sort out some 3 foot long RS4 downpipes??

Exactly my point. They couldn’t even get RS4 downpipes right (which, if you’ve seen RS4 downpipes before, are nothing complicated by any stretch of the imagination).

The chance that they got these headers right is 0%. Not 5%, not 25%, 0. These guaranteed will not fit and will provide many more headaches than they are worth. XS has not fit these on 1 single car before putting them up for sale and saying “COMPARE TO JHM AND SAVE.”

Compare it to JHM’s R&D process, and LOSE.

lol you should write their ad for them

did you buy them on ebay?

p.s. how’s the car coming along? I can’t remember if you changed your tune (literally, not figuratively) or if you still have the Uni stage 1?

Bought them from swesna. Obviously not his fault, he had no idea they would fit this poorly. He gave them to me for cheap so it was like a “why not” sorta thing. Problem is, cost an extra few hundred just to get them to fit properly. The shop basically constructed my own custom downpipes using the XS as a base.

Car is good, just put the JHM short shifter in along with these downpipes. Love love love the shifter. I gotta say I do love the downpipes too, the car is just so mean now, but I coulda dealt with less headaches / modifications to them lol.

I’m sure someone is in the market for a full 2.5" catless exhaust system with Milltek non-res… but I will run this exhaust for a while until it bothers me enough to change out.

Oh and yes, still on the “Stage 1+” tune from Unitronic. Awaiting their Stage 2 file which they said they would have ready for me for Waterfest.

Is Milltek really 2.5"?

;D

It’s funny…people wonder why Milltek gets made fun of on this site.

Here’s their webpage description of the catback. Shocking, I know. They sell downpipes and catbacks that are a fucking total clone replica of stock. They just have some nicer/louder mufflers.
