That looks like it should clip back together.
Now that you have to Intake manifold assemblies, can’t you just pull them a part and mix and match the non broken parts

That piece actually has a small crack where it seals together. Took out the runners, they look to be in good condition besides being caked in grease.
I would hate to pull pieces from both and end up have two, non functional actuators
where’d you get that from?
I’m gonna guess fleabay?
Pretty
Gonna look sexy.
Figured out what I’m going to do with the actuator so once the paint dries I’ll probably get it done and installed tomorrow
Gonna use sticky tape…
Nice looking forward to it
I wrote the guy a message on eBay telling him about the intake, this is what I got in return

Good to see that there are some honest/respectable ebay sellers out there.
That’s awesome on the seller’s part.
Funny thing is, I’m using the entire set up other than one of the actuator cups.
Well it’s “done”… And I use that term lightly.

Also did the tb coolant bypass

So I started the car up and it’s sputtering & misfiring like no other… Haha story of my 3.0!!
I parked the car for the night but I have a lead into what’s causing it.
Time to get some sleep and spend allllllllll day tomorrow on the bitch
^any work with manifold like that often will have a rough start, but it should idle down in less than 30 seconds. I’d just check your vacuum lines and that everything it torqued to spec.
Vacuum lines are all good and torqued correctly.
I’m using starter fluid spray like count suggested and I have two leaks where to manifuld bolts down. Unbolted and retorqued and double checked to make sure the spacers weren’t cracked. I’m going to try a couple more things then I’ll sit my car outside for trash day… Lol
I’m surprised how level headed I’ve been, last time this happened I lost half my tools in the walls of my garage. Lol
are the mating surfaces between the head/spacer and intake/spacer level and undamaged?
They are now
Went back and put small washers on the head of each bolt and retorqued them down. The heads on the new bolts are small and sink down more than stock. The washers did the trick and it’s running like a champ.
No codes and feels more torguey having functioning runners & a working actuator. On top of having a running, vacuum, and misfire free car is I’m getting the money back for the parts I ordered.
Hell. Yes.
good stuff, any chance you logged pre and post (re working actuators)? there is some dude on AZ with a 3.0 who has some build thread and was swearing up and down he was better off without them… massively moronic, a chart would be a nice way to illustrate his idiocy
I dont have access to a vag com, that’s still on my wish list. He isnt very level headed on the 3.0 platform. He said he doesn’t like the he said she said shit and acts like there has been no testing on anything. He is using panty hose for an air filter for Christ sake.
Maybe it’s just me but I feel it being more torquey and quicker from a roll.
it should be, there is no disadvantage to a properly designed multistage intake manifold… you get twin torque peaks (or more depending on design), and with the airflow a 3.0 makes at the moment coupled with the rotary design (v flaps) I don’t see if being a restriction (unlike the timing chain 4.2’s dual stage or timing belt 4.2’s triple stage.
yeah I saw the pantyhose thing and walked away lol
