100 vs 104 race gas

No more War Room pls ;D

Seriously, if you are doing that just to be safe that you don’t run out of fuel, then at least run it down around your neighborhood, then put 5 gal in, run it to 0 miles, and put the other 5 gal in before you head to track, or something like that. …

Understand about the weight, 8 gallons, and concur.

Why would anyone buy a Eurocode clutch? Do people even run these?

The last person that had that clutch was paperfag and he promised us great things…he hasn’t been seen since then, I actually think it was because it failed or was slipping pretty quickly after install.

While I can’t speak on JHM products for the B8, I can say that their B6/7 S4 RS4 products have always been amazing…I wouldn’t expect anything different for the B8. I would never buy a Eurocode product, they have headers they have never shown testing for and same goes for their clutch.

OK

There is a used ec clutch + flywheel on the zine and the guy now has a JHM clutch flywheel setup so that may say something? I only asked about EC because that the only company I knew making them. I had no idea JHM made a kit as well. I do have EC ak and sways and have been happy with them but those are only bolt ons.

If I were to do a new clutch is a new flywheel necessary?

I’ve also been happy with my sway bars, links and AK. They provide the b8 with decent product support, though I can see the headers issue. Wish JHM did more for this platform…I like the rear rotors I bought.

It’s not necessary, unless it has many hot spots, or is warped to hell from many hard launched miles. But, the way JHMs flywheel setup is, which is fucking awesome, just buy their lightweight flywheel, which has a replaceable friction disc. Then when it’s time for the next clutch, you won’t need a new flywheel ($1299 stock), simply replace just the fiction disc and gtg!

Consider that and the lighter weight, makes it the best available, most likely in the world. Huge props to JHM for continually making high quality upgrades for Audi.

Sorry missed your first question, http://www.coastalplainsraceway.com/. Jacksonville NC. Gates open and 12:00, runs from 12;30-4;30.

Not too bad for rest of day.

Agree, the last time I was out there I was dealing with about 2000 ft. DAs. Thanks for the info. Jacksonville airport is only a few miles away and I’ll be able to get current data very easily.

I have the JHM flywheel with the hybrid clutch, which is ceramic on one side and organic on the other. I’m quite happy with it. JHM did the install for me, so I know it was done right.

FWIW, below is my best time sheet on my car, done back in May. Went again in June but times almost identical. The 60 ft times aren’t very good. Used launch control and this was with an APR tune. Also, meth injection was not installed at that time. DA about 2000 ft. I’m car 22, obviously?

what’s interesting is that you might be the only guy to be able to run REVO somewhat safely since you’re spraying alcohol at it. The REVO pump parameters approach the other tuners’ race file parameters. Running pump + meth is effectively running race fuel, so that works well.

Your time won’t be considered a pump time though…it will be pump+meth which is looked at as effectively race.

Understand and thanks, question. I’m told to switch the tune to number four setting for the strip. REVO says #4 is the mode to use when burning anything over 100 octane. I don’t know what my current setting is . Had the SPS box sent to me after the Revo install so I don’t know what setting I’m currently using. Web page doesn’t help but I have messaged Jeff but it’s Saturday.

Don’t over think it. Do your best to keep it simple. Your surrounded by the most successful guys in all the audi platforms. Take notes don’t deviate from the advice. Take notes on each pass and share. If you can take video take video. If you listen to all the guys here and follow there advice you should crush your old times. Aside from opening the door in the middle of the pass and trying to parachute out of the car there should be no chance for you to fail.

Just burned to the same range as I am from the strip. Should get there reading about zero miles remaining. Have a go pro, sitting here charging. Car is ready, I’m ready, weather would be the only problem. Thanks.

Have fun and good luck. Report back ya old fart (i kid :P)

Awesome Sky, best of luck! We will accept no timeslips but 11s ;D ;D

Has a revo car even been in the 11s?

I honestly don’t know.
