Damn… I just realized there are 2 holes to block off. I’ll have to get at the other one later. I plan to make some other mods as well to the piping and adding cool tape.

Yup download the torrent and use a new ish iMac to burn it to a dual layer DVD using toast. I made a couple a while back.

My rnse2010+ in my RS4 that I just bought on Ebay included a 2011 disc (burned)

Is the 2010+ worth it, how do you like it? I am thinking about taking the faceplate off this and buying a 10+ unit from an A3 unit on ebay they are only like 600$ or something like that. I have yet to even see or use one of these units. If i ever get my car back I could install it.

The gap between upgrading and selling a regular rnse is not bad. I did it for the agility to use sdhc cards.

I have 2x32gb cards full of thousands of songs, full screen display, and the ability to control it with the steering wheel

It alleviates the poison of the awful iPod interface, and the uselessness of using the auxiliary cord and having to hold a phone/iPod and look at the tiny screen…which is a$200 fine here for distracted driving…if you don’t rear end someone.

So that’s what I like.

It is also way faster at calculating etc. screen is way better but no big deal there.

All around great for me and considering it is like what…200 bucks or something difference, worth it to me considering I can always downgrade and get that money back on sale of the car

  A friend of mine at the dealer gave me some free keys that are new but have been cut, I found them on ebay virgin and anuncut but they were 80$ ea and free is better.... So I have 2 new keys that have been cut.  I ordered 2 B6 virgin key fobs (10$ea), and 2 blank b7 key blades (15$ea). Since 2002's need a new Comfort Convienence Module to use the B7 keys I picked one up on AZ (100$). I also finally got my hands on a new Auxilary alarm control module to fix the quiet chip (200$ new from GAP). I'm hoping to have my car back on Friday or early next week so I can install this and my RNS-E, but I'm not holding my breath.

2 cut keys that were never used, 2 virgin chips from B6 keys, 2 blank HAA blades, Swapped all together and made 1 fresh key. I found a place to cut them and then I’ll see if they will program, fingers crossed.

     Here are some pics of my car mostly reassembled minus the front bumper and engine covers.  Since I was already paying a lot of money for new cams and followers I had the my entire car fully inspected and anything that looked old or needing replacing got it and the repair list is so long I won't even try to list it. Basically I'm ahead of service and ready for go mods, unfortuantly I'm broke as this was a huge job as every inch of my car has been inspected. 
   I don't really like the way the black valve covers turned out but I'm going to leave them for now because shes going to the body shop after this for some minor repair on scratches and dings and I'll see if can have it pulled off then and repainted a different color like silver? need some ideas. Here is a Aero wiper blade kit, ECS magnetic drain plug, valve less wheel stems kit from ECS. And heres some pics of some 255/35/19 tires I tried on, they were too big so I went with 245's. I have a video of the first start up i'll post later. 

Edit- Forgot to mention, JHM intake spacers are installed ;D

Good to hear that she is back together…you are right those black valve covers don’t look so good, maybe if you went with a silver it might look better

Thanks lout, yea I think some shade of silver will look a lot better too especially after I get the rest of the engine bay cleaned and detailed and hopefully I can find the right shade of silver without too much trouble. Heres the video of the first start. The sound cuts out half way through for me and I can’t seem to fix it so its only like 15 seconds long.

After 3 painful months I finally have her back!! Honestly it feels like a completly different car. Its been so long and I did so much to it that its completly different. She feels so tight, the RS4 control arms from JHM feel precise and corner beautifully. My clutch master cylinder was bad so now my clutch feels proper now it basically runs like stock but grabs way more. Runs so smooth from the cams, the intake manifold spacers drop the temp of the manifold enough to where you can notice it just by feel from before and after. With maintenence up to date I’m starting to get excited for some real GO mods because I can see them in my near future.

I feel like an idiot for asking this, but if I do full exhaust JHM DP’s and FI catback. And then tune. what stage will my car be?? I’ll have intake spacers, stage 2 clutch, full exhaust, tune, jhm trio kit, and zingo mod.

My next question is whats next? Other than BBK which is only going to shave 2lbs per rotor. What can I do to get more power out of this car? Can this car see 13 seconds without forced induction?

EDIT- I also installed rear o2 spacers so i’ve now done all 4 and CEL for cats has not come back yet.

Good to hear you got her back - I am a little jealous, it will be 2 years end of next month for me.

In terms of stages, n/a cars dont really have stages, I suppose you could call it stage 2. As turbo cars are stage 1 is a tune and stage 2 is tune exhaust and IC’s.

At this time there is not other performance mods that I can think of, so I guess once you have the exhaust and tune you should bug the crap out of JHM to build us some more parts lol

you’re driving an NA car. There are bolt ons, and power adders, and maybe some deeper engine work/headwork/cam work…but no stages in the NA nomenclature.

Stages are traditionally the bastion of small OEM power, small displacement forced induction cars. Even then, they’re murky as fuck and frankly a bit silly.

“I’m stage 1 because I have a tune”
“I’m stage 2 because I have a tune and one other part”
“I’m stage 3 because I have bigger turbos”
“I’m stage 3+ because my bigger turbos are cooler”

What about the guy with no tune, but full exhaust, fully decatted, LW wheels, LW rotors, BBK, intake and a reworked intake manifold, exhaust and intake cams? Is he stage 0? Who the hell cares.

Your car is your car, and stages mean nothing. You can’t just say ‘I’m stage X’ even if you’re in a turbo car because you always end up having someone say ‘what mods?’ and then you explain them anyway…so the stage nomenclature is useless.

Good point Saki, I think I’m just going to call my car tastefully modded and leave it at that.

On another note I got my B7 keys cut and I started the car with them just because I wanted to see what would happen because I read that without the immobilizer coded the car will just shut off after a few seconds. This is not the case. I was able to drive off in my car although the dash had a key light on and some others and the hazard lights were all flashing and I couldn’t turn them off. Thought it was weird no alarm or anything.

That is weird with the key. Maybe you should get your immo checked! Anything on VAGCOM?

I don’t have my laptop with VCDS anymore it died. I’m going to program them today or tommorrow so we’ll see how it works. I asked my Audi tech he said that the car should of shut off.

Would anyone think I’m crazy if I put a feeler up??

The car should deffo shut off. I had a 3rd key for my old 2003 A3 that I never got programmed for immo but it would open the doors and the key would turn in the ignition and activate the starter. There would be a brief firing of the engine, quickly cut out by the immobilizer.

Maybe cuz the chips are virgin? The guy is trying to code it now cost me a bill and it might not work for sure, i hope it does cuz it would suck to waste a bill and not have new keys plus what it cost to make them.

Edit- keys are coded and i even got the pin code for my car :slight_smile:

 Well I wasn't planning on doing any performance modification just yet, but the notorious cat efficiency codes have come back after I have now replaced all 4 o2 sensors with genuine Audi sensors and they still returned. So I just dropped it off at the body shop to fix some dents and scratches, and install USP door blades. After it gets back my plan is to get DP's on as soon as I can swing it. I think its best to take the cats out instead of tune and have them coded out. I am hoping to titanium wrap my DP's  as well.  I wish I could swing FI catback and tune, I wonder if I could claim fastest NA 3.0 after that...
