Well, I’m sorry to say but its a really sad day for me. I have to suspend work untill probably the end of summer and I can only pray I’m not forced to list her for sale between now and then but only time will tell. Its been a lot of fun owning this car shes the most beautiful and amazing peice of machine I have ever owned, rough times are ahead but I’m going to fight as long as I can to keep her.
Mate that sucks, I hope that everything falls back into place for you.
shit, thats not good at all. sorry to hear that!! Let me know if you do end up trying to sell her tho. I am interested!!
Thanks guys, I’ll keep you all updated. Right now I’m just stacking my paper so that I can do basically everything at once when I drop transmisson. Right now it looks like she might be parked untill the end of August, only time will tell.
Work to come-
-JHM Clutch and lightweight flywheel
-034 Control Arm Kit (already have)
-Tranmisson Rebuild kit with Composite Synchros
-Front o2’s, Hoping for JHM DP’s at same time but we’ll see
-Apikol Front Snub mount (still awaiting 034 bracket from JHM)
OR
Nothing ends up happening and you see her for sale…
UPDATE!
I accidently deleted the text that was here, and dont care to retype it all…(in short my tranmissons ok, and my problem was sensors and suspension which resulted in horrible vibration)
But all parts are in!
034 Control arm kit with new hardware, Meyle HD Tie rods, Apikol Snub and 034 Bracket, Bosch Wideband o2’s, and since Recaro’s are on backburner a new drivers lumbar!
http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z457/A4QuattroV6/newparts.jpg
Control arms are really light, my tie rods weigh more than some of the arms. Can’t wait to see how she feels with new control arms and snub mount should feel nice and crisp.
Also did some vagcom mods, windows, fogs… LOVE the fog light mod, will post pics of that later when I can get some night shots.
Sorry its been awhile. But I finally just got my car back today with some work done.
Both front o2 sensors are installed which was a HUGE PITA!!! also I was able to get the front Apikol Snub mount installed which I can’t really tell if It feels better because unfortunatly it looks like my flywheel is bad … I don’t have control arms in yet because I am going to focus on my transmisson first.
Also the 034 snub bracket for the S4 does NOT fit the 3.0, the holes just don’t line up the bracket needs to be wider because all 4 holes won’t line up. Apparently nobody has ever tried this yet cuz JHM couldn’t give me any info on if it would fit and told me to let them know how it worked out.
So on to my next step which is transmisson. It feels like my synchros are fine because the car has no problem going into any gear when the car is off. Once the car is started vibrations are at idle and increase with RPMS… Also shifting above 2000rpms is basically not possible, I have to let the RPM’s drop then it will engage. So I assume there was some kind of install error, failure to even put the new flywheel in, or who knows.
So next i’ll be researching LWFW and see if that is something I would want to try to swing. Only thing is i’m worried how much chatter i’m going to get. Also I read the 2.7t clutch and flywheel fits but I think i’d rather have the new clutch+LWFW JHM made.
good stuff on slowly getting your back up to scratch…
Thanks for find out the hard way if that snub mount bracket didnt fit, it was on my list of things I need to get…guess I can cross it off now.
FML…well time to get some Saki and sushi for a pick me up and pray something good comes of this…
dude what happened???
its weird how good the car actualy looks on the back of the truck…i noticed that looking back at pics when mine was taken away
Not sure, hearing some pretty bad noises. Shop has her now and they are pretty busy so I might not hear back untill early next week but I don’t care what it is, if I have to I’ll rebuild the whole thing! I’m just praying that its just a bad flywheel or something simple. I would hate to have to get into this motor as I’m sure it would not be cost effective. Its all speculation at this point, I’ll update when I hear from them.
Well, turns out my flywheel is shot. First part on the list I’ll be ordering this week is JHM clutch kit, I’m curious what the holding power is?

A43Go6MT
Bosch Wideband o2’s this helps what?
Are those up or downstream?
Less chance to throw low efficiency CEL codes?
They are precat, and mine were not reading and hoping to clear my Cat efficiency codes. It only cleared bank 2, bank 1 came back.
On another note, JHM is out of stock on clutch kits >:(. Since I need my car back I’m forced to look elsewhere. Probably ordering clutchmasters stage 2 in the morning with steel flywheel.
Parts ordered-
JHM Intake Spacers
Clutch Masters FX-200 with Steel Flywheel (21lbs)
clutch slave cylinder
Motul Oil Change kit
Redline Gear oil
Valve Cover Gasket
And after that I’m tapped out, I really wanted DP’s but I just can’t swing another 500 on parts plus install which the only place I’ve found that would do it is the stealership and they want like 800$. Its okay, I’ll save DP’s when i can buy the FI catback at the same time.
Use Google to find Exhaust places.
Use your zipcode for the search.
I found lots around me that way.
I think it has something to do with the laws in Nevada they all said they cant remove cats or they could get in trouble. I think the dealers way around this is by you signing something that it is for off road use? I am not too worried about it, when the time comes I am confident I will get the setup I want.
Have the shop do labor stating that the exhaust was dammaged on a speed bump and have them rate
it based on that. Then the shop could do what ever they wanted?
Some shops around here won’t touch the downpipes.
First off I would just like to say the only reason I did not go with JHM clutch kit is because they were sold out and I needed my car fast and by the time I had ordered 2 clutch kits that I will be paying restocking fee’s on I was not interested in ordering another, and on top of that I’m not interested in flywheel chatter because I am not looking for a fast car, just a little more go.
So given that heres a shot of the parts I’m installing, and I opened the CM kit so heres some shots of that as well which I think I might be installing the CM kit. But we’ll see. So for now here is some pics.

Well, looks like the shop found the culprit of my problem… It seems that when I first bought the car and had a transmission AND a new clutch and flywheel installed the shop decided to just not put in a new flywheel! I will be proceding with legal action in every way I can to make them pay for the cost I gave them of the flywheel AND the labor for making me have to go back into the transmission. Why are so many shops so scandalous!?! Maybe my next investment should be hidden cameras all over the car.
