I’m not totally against a B5 A4 having a 2.7t swap I understand where you guys are coming from, but if you allow one type of swap you have to allow them all. The AR list is meant to reflect how a car came from the factory for people to base their own results off of and compare it isn’t meant as a trophy showcase for people that are basically building a race car like the I5 swapped B7 RS4.

I think you are misunderstanding. An I5 in an rs4 is totally different than a 2.7 in a b5 a4. It’s the same frame, the same motor and the same trans for both the a4 and the s4. It even has an s4 body kit lol. He only thing different are the vins.

I do think its absolutely RETARDED that the a4 with a 2.7t wouldn’t be added to the list.

But if we allowed someone to have a 2.7t swapped B5 A4, it would open the flood gates for all swaps. That would be the argument “A4s didn’t come with 2.7ts so why doesn’t my VR6 swapped A4 count?”

If I wanted to build a B5 that ran low 11s, I’d do it, but who wants a 13 year old car that has a hideous interior and will need tons of other wear and tear items addressed. I don’t give a shit if my car is ever faster than the fastest B5, I do care how it stack up against other B6/7s, and to be quite honest if I run low 12s on pump, full interior, and daily drive it…

well it will be faster than probably 99% of the B5 S4s on the street. If by one chance I run into a well built B5 S4…on race gas…or E85…with no interior or weight reduction and he happens to spank my ass, well I’ll give him a thumbs up and go about my business because I don’t really care about being the fastest.

You’ll find plenty of praise for the 2.7t in the 4.2 forum though. The trash talk is reserved for the 2.7t scam shops and big talkers, but nobody denounces the entire engine or platform

the b6-b7 interior is a slightly updated b5 interior the dash ect is very very similar architecturally. The b8 s4 has a nice interior the b5 interior on my car is vastly updated with flat bottom steering wheel porsche gt2 seats and soon to be modded rnse. other then that b6 is the ugliest looking exterior. B7 rs4 looks good but again if im looking for a stop light pump gas fast comfortable car the b6/7 is the last car on the planet i would buy… <c63

I gave him a car and a time and he said it was not impressive so I asked him to post a b7 with an impressive time. It escalated from there. I posted more videos, and he gave more excuses as to why they don’t really count.

As far as a complex goes, I could have bought an rs4 if I wanted, I didn’t. It’s not a complex, it’s a preference. And you don’t see me trolling the b7 forums all day asking for 1/4 mile times either.

That;s a great time in the real world (it is…there are literally 99.9999% of cars out there who would see nothing but tail lights in that setup). Because the weird thing is most of us will go out and run our cars. That is what most of us don’t understand about the B5 S4 community. A lot of guys ran at the track in the past and had great results, but the new breed of owners dodge the track. They’d rather post street racing videos, dynographs and logs. I’m sure 8URV8 will eventually go to the strip and I hope he runs well, otherwise he will never be taken anymore seriously than he is taken right now.

As for you, I’m not even sure where you fit in right now, besides videographer…I guess. What are your plans? out of curiosity…I’m not trying to bash you, I just seriously wonder what your point is sometimes besides just to argue. You have 2 B5s, right? Do you have epic plans for one? or both?

I disagree. My B5 is equally has nice with Recaro Sportsters, iPod interface, bt and nav. Fit and finish is more refined on the B7’s and certainly more current. The less than wonderful gearbox reminds you it’s a 13 year old car. The B7’s feel 10x better and 100x better after getting out of a B5. I do this a lot.
