Aluthman's Intro and Build thread

You can’t help everyone. You can say you tried, that’s a good friend. Tons of people got ripped off on the PES blowers. Those that spoke up got harsh backlash, until it was clear and everyone realized that they did get ripped off and stuck, but that’s because most want to believe, even when its clear they shouldn’t.

I kinda feel like a douche but I backed out of the deal. Looks like I’m sticking with Maestro for a while longer.

i wouldn’t feel like a douche…just feel like an informed consumer who is making an educated decision

p.s. that RS6 model looks freaky real

You did what very few people actually do. You just proved that your a man of your word and that you should be taken seriously
read what you wrote here

Then you wrote this in this thead when asked why not have a pro tune…even if you paid nothing for a tune its not your tune and its still an expensive gamble. You already said what it would take for you to switch and from what you wrote if you would have gotten the stolen tune or tune from someone not even known for tuning or even having a tune. If you wouldn’t have backed out you would have gone well below the standards you set

from here think about this… your setting the standard for the rest of the entire b7 guys. The b5 comunity turned into a backwards movement. The b5 guys started to accept cheap parts hacked tunes and china parts. When people like you stand up and say no and you realize something is a bad idea and you do something about it you save the platform from the dirt bags that make the platform fail.

This is 200% correct!

Also check this out. Probably not the same guy, but it would sure be funny.
Daz steals tune, GTA steals his beats!

In unrelated but fucking awesome news, CT is finally getting a dragstrip!

http://connecticutnationaldragway.com/index.html

May only be 1/8th mile initially, but it still beats driving to NH to make a few runs.

You can still get good info from the 1/8th!

My first time ever running was at an 1/8th mile strip. It was the Cooper River Raceway down in South Carolina in my '98 Z28. I had a blast. This was back around around 2004ish.

Very well put and lots of respect seeing someone who not only followed what he set out to do but someone that shows he has standards.

The tune stealing dillenger his first name isn’t daz. He goes by daz due to not wanting people to know his real name. When you make a name for yourself stealing from people you probably don’t want people to know your name.

Back to the thread. Aluthman have you ever ran your A4? I love 1/8th mile tracks. I might be old but I feel they’re just as fun and very safe.

I’ve yet to run my A4. It’s a 3 hour drive north to the closest strip in NH. I plan to make it there before summer is out though.

First review of a SAW tuned car.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/607813-Sprint-Auto-Works-proudly-presents-Custom-Tuning-for-Audi-Vw-applications

Would be interesting to see how well it performs against APR or REVO (because lets be honest a JHM car would annihilate it!).

Not an ounce of data, has nothing to compare, and is worried about MPG…not exactly a review worth mentioning.

Tell him to find another tune only car to do some pulls with for comparison.

Was also just reading this : http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/568738-Sunday-wrench-day-at-JrTrainor-s?p=9963264&viewfull=1#post9963264

Jrtrainor is the guy at SAW who is tuning through ddillinger. He hadn’t tuned a smidge 2 weeks ago when he started at SAW, now he is “revising bike tunes” and “making powerful tunes”.

This is exactly the kind of lies I was talking about, He is a super nice guy, but he just feels the need to make up these crazy statements to show off. I think some people actually believe him too. That’s the worst part. People misinterpret overconfidence as skill.

People who want your money are always nice. I do think you’re right however this is an attempt to misrepresent whom he really is. All in an attempt to defraud unassuming people.

What’s even more telling on how uneducated this shop is. You don’t need a custom tune for elevation it’s truly sad if I know more about tuning then these guys do. The ecu has the ability to adjust for all elevations. It’s not like APR hasn’t been able to sell tunes to people in super high elevation. They’ve been selling tunes all over and for all elevations for over 10year’s now for the 2.0?

Swapped valve covers today to see if that’s what is causing me to use oil.

Did you have the silver VC before? Was the bottom of it coming apart?

Swapping valve covers? Can you share more on how this would be an issue?

The channels for the PCV system on the early valve covers (silver in color) would come unglued thus screwing with how the PCV function works and you get oil going down the wrong channels and getting consumed etc…

This is a pic of what the valve cover looks like underneath and this is what comes unglued:

This thread goes into detail and shows what the PCV channels look like once a VC is taken apart:

Yes and yes.
