His car is currently not running with the AMD kit? Anyone else other then Per who has publicly expressed a positive or negative experience with an AMD setup?
maybe. Not sure. He has owned pretty much every part available for the damn car. JHM exhaust, twice. JHM tune. Milltek fullback, twice. REVO tune I think. PES blower. AMD blower. Multiple big brake kits.
The boost they’re running on a car with a 12:5:1 compression ratio is kinda absurd, also that 8500rpm optional redline is quiet sketchy as well…
Why bother buying a product that is more risky, more money and less proven when a company like JHM exists…
If your not a fan of JHM there’s also APR…
JHM will be 11.0-11.2 on pump with a good driver on 8psi with no fueling upgrades and APR will be 11.4-11.6 IMO with a good driver with no fueling options as well…
JHM is less money than the AMD kit and APR ‘might’ be a few grand more but at that point why not take the ‘safer’ route?
Ah, given that past history then, it is a very real possibility that the AMD could be removed, and the JHM (which it sounded like was the preferred kit) would be installed.
lets not forget Per who got a huge discount and oh yes kryptonic also got a huge discount… Per is a paid spoaksman so don’t listen to what he said nothing he said is valid. Per also had the kit on his car for only a few weeks and then had motor damage that required his motor got pulled.
also here is a great point from Auditude…
If you actually watch the video of the AMD car at the track is blowing smoke everywhere. Yoiu can tell the motor is hurt. They are running too much boost too much RPM… AMD is known for blowing up customers cars to try and sell a product. JHM is known for blowing up there own in house JHM owned cars to make sure you don’t blow up yours.

What are most forum members thoughts on the required cutting to install the JHM kit? I know these cars aren’t museum pieces, but at the same time they are relatively rare and just the thoughts of cutting into the unibody definitely irks me. Unfortunately, this seems to be the best kit currently available so do you just suck it up and deal with it?
I personally don’t understand the big deal, and it’s trimming (most would be surprised at how little)…your not hurting the structural integrity of the car so the people crying “cut into the unibody…how could you?” are complete idiots. DO we really think JHM would screw with the safety and integrity of the frame.
Let’s look at it this way…#1 your already supercharging the car…so you aren’t to worried about warranty. Supercharging is also going to turn away some potential buyers, but those are usually guys that want an un molested care that wasn’t beat on. It doesn’t matter what supercharger you use or if you had to modify a piece of the car that you can barely even see. #2 once the JHM charger is on, how many people are going to remove it before resale? that doesn’t even make any sense, and when it is on everything looks professionally installed (as long as you take your time cutting)
The only people worried about the cutting are JHM bashers and scared little QW folk, not people who want the BEST and truly care about reliability and performance.
Kryptonik got AMD supercharged and disappeared from AR like a fart in the wind…
weird…
Does this car look hacked up?? or that it’s resale value has decreased by $30k?…nope, but I’m labeled a fanboy

APR’s new kit is supposed to be pretty close in price to the introduction of the last one. I think people will be pretty excited about the times and then loose that excitement when they see the price lol.
