since the closest dealer is over an hour away from me and i work 60+ hours a week i dont see that as being convenient

This “custom flash” keeps coming up. Your condescending view of the “cookie cutter” tunes and tuners is pretty baseless at this point. As it stands you have a relatively stock car. Compared to any OTS stage 2 car you would get your ass handed to you in any sort of race.

If I was you, I would keep quiet about it until you have your custom ballsohard tune running and you have set some sort of record(s). If your custom tune and unique hardware setup don’t accomplish that, then you will look quite foolish.

Apparently, I’m not as smart as you and that’s ok I am here to learn from much smarter folks maybe someday you won’t be the know it all you think you are but I doubt it… Again, I’ll trust my tuning to people who do it for a living not as a hobby, but I bet you’re good at it so go for it… I don’t go anywhere to get flashed, I pull my ecu put it in a box and send it to APR, two days later it shows up back at my house… Pretty cool how that works really, not sure what happens but it works… LOL Link to this remote setup that I can buy???

Missed this one… So you have a custom exhaust, eh? What makes it “custom”? Just an fyi, headers haven’t been proven do some research and I looked into porting the SC years ago newb… Does that mean I tried to do “custom” mods? Oh and I have a custom intake and shift paddles so take that… lol

for those of you who didn’t know. the custom tune is EPL and maybe AMS pre pacokaged excuce on why there customers cars are not fast… every EPL customer needs a custome tune… This was a big thing with the RS4 guys… They needed a custom tune… turns out they just needed a JHM tune and not a EPL tune to go fast… Seems now the EPL AMS guys are going to need a custom tune as well… The best custom tune you can get if your an EPL customer is a GIAC OR APR tune…

I have never purchased an APR or GIAC anything so I’m not waiting for anything.

Further, you’re getting an EPL tune…and last time I checked, EPL sucks at tuning. As I asked you much earlier in this thread, please show us evidence that EPL has a clue what they’re doing with respect to tuning Audis and producing performance. I will warn you…many before you have tried and failed. EPL sucks. That’s why they’re getting fired by companies and customers who used to be EPL brainwashed, like you.

I’d much rather have a tune that works than a tune that sucks and sees me coming in last place but that I can ‘update’ on the fly. How they get the tune to you, is irrelevant. You’re buying into the tune updating process and foregetting why you bought the tune…for performance.Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

He doesn’t. He has an x-pipe chopped in, in place of the resonators. Hardly custom. The best part is an x-pipe in that location on the B8 S4 does just about fuck all. Might hurt pulses actually, rather than introduce scavenging. It’s a frigging supercharged V6. Volumetric efficiency on the exhaust side isn’t much of a concern. Bet it sounds like shit too.

where did i say that epl/ams will be better, its so funny how everyone gets butt hurt because something else “might” be better than what they currently have.

it is showing its advantages, and yes i believe in a full tune. i guarantee that if you go to a race track all of the fastest people have had their cars custom tuned and not just a flash.

this mentality is why the audi market has fallen behind compared to bmw and imports. its pretty sad

did you ever think that headers arent proven because they have never been “tuned” , you spend your money to go fast i choose modifications wisely and dont let my wallet control how fast my car will go

So how much were you paid to develop this tune switching setup? Because that’s the only explanation for fighting for EPL’s tuning prowess.

I have asked a couple of times for you to show evidence of EPL being able to tune an Audi effectively, but haven’t seen you post anything.

Your whole thing is about custom tuning being superior to these pre-packaged tunes, but

1 . you haven’t shown jack shit that would support this in the Audi world
2. you haven’t seen anything from EPL that shows what they can do, yet you’re running your bulldog mouth about the APR and GIAC setups

actually this mentality got us from polished turd supercharger kits with fancy dynos to multiple, well performing kits getting RS4’s into the deep 11’s with just bolt ons.

i have yet to say anything bad about giac/apr except the fact that they are just a flash, they perform well for what they are… but they dont fit everyones needs and they refuse to provide a solution unless it goes along with one of their “stages”

Just show me something. Show me why anyone wouldn’t be a moron to get an EPL tune on an Audi. Anything. Show me some performance that is relevant. i.e. not a dyno. Not a single gear pull. Show me EPL knows what they’re doing.

The last guy to come here and defend EPL was jonathan cohen and his partner jason from AMD. They were hiring EPL to tune the TVSr1900 supercharged B7 RS4 they were working on. I challenged them to show me why I shouldn’t laugh at their choice of EPL. They fed me the same bullshit you did in this thread. ’ they’re big on porsches’…‘they tune for driveability’ blah blah blah. After 18 months of development, the car hit the strip and they buried the results. Fortunately I dug them up from some Camaro guys who were there. They said the car went low 12s @ high teens MPH. lol. Within a month, AMD had ditched EPL, and hired UM to tune the kit. They then went 11.3 @ 126 MPH. EPL FTL . AMD has hid from the fact that THIS FORUM warned them about how shit EPL was, and whenever we shove it in their face, they run and hide from it like you are doing.

Whenever people run their mouth about EPL or custom tuning, I ask them to show me evidence to support their mouth, and they always do what you do. They dance and hope nobody notices they didn’t answer.
