Another new intake...

Eurocode is coming out with a stage 2 of their Intake.

LOL! You know I was about to STFU, but no, you continue to spew and make me lol…

So how much will we see from stage II? Another 15hp/12tq??? I bet those dynos will look really purrrtttyyy… This is gonna be some intake boy… What about the fuel economy will we see another 10% increase! That’s fucking great… These guys should probably design for Audi if they are that good! I bet it flows even better than stage I and we all know those are some hellacious numbers…

About 55whp and 75 wtq on a cool day.

Interesting roll-out strategy by EC. Wonder why they chose to introduce this intake and then hint at a Stage 2 version in the near future. As Prime indicated, how can they possibly top the claims they made with Stage 1? E.g., 15hp gain and remarkable increase in fuel efficiency. To be fair, APR made similar claims about fuel economy with their intake. It’s all bullshit - I average between 14-16mpg. That was the case both before and after installing APR’s intake.

Also, I am confused about EC’s “made in the USA” selling point. These are German cars lol. Highly doubt that the typical S4 owner (after dropping $60k on their foreign-produced car) cares which country produced this $175 intake. Strange.

Are you testing it for them?

If by testing you mean driving around with it, skreet racing, jumping curbs, etc. then I’m sure he is… If you mean testing it via data logging, making some passes, etc., then nah that won’t be necessary for the folks on vendorzine to buy it… Why bother! Lol

That’s what I’m thinking. I know it didn’t hurt me but I’m just trying to determine whether it was a worthwhile investment. Almost wishing I had stuck on my winter setup and run 100 again to really limit the variables.

Oh but it’s for a 20% increase in fuel economy*

lolol

Nope

Ya that’s right, I forgot you were running 100. But wouldn’t that also be an argument in favor of your new intake? 93 on a 93 tune, summer tires in 35-40 degree temps, yet you still were running 3/10ths better consistently. I’d say CPT hooked it up.

Lol - so true. But EC seems to have a ninja style testing method with paper’s car. Who knows what they actually do with it!

I’ve heard he’s already got the tvs1740 in it

How do you know what their testing methods and style is? You work for them? You run the ninJa tests for them?
They data log these cars, dyno test them, use flow bench testing, as well as side by side comparison testing between multiple cars, as well as other testing methods that I will not disclose. You guys make fun of the, and talk shit over and over and over about a product none of you have, no one you know has, you guys havnt tested. I love your methods of reasoning to judge and try to tarnish a product you don’t know jack shit about and a company whose testing you don’t know jacks hit about. It’s all good though its an open forum and their are a lot of clowns that try to stand in the way of progress. Eurocode has more high end high quality parts for the B8 platform than almost anyone else on this planet besides maybe APR, and they have more kickass parts coming out than most B8 tuners and manufacturers have released since the beginning of this platform. I’m done with this Rodeo of a thread.

See… This why you have limited credibility paper

You react emotionally and defend a product and a company without paying attention to the pertinent questions. You just flail away aimlessly.

The claims made by euro code are pretty serious for the stage one. To recap:

  1. 15 HP and 12 ft lbs to (wheel or crank?)

  2. 11.5 % mileage gains

What do they do to accomplish that? Replace a hose with some sound deadening material with one that has none. Replace a paper oem filter with a cone.

OK so that sounds insane.

Now we hear they have stage two coming… For What? They’ve already created the greatest intake mod in the history of cars (if you believe them) .

We have seen no proof even though they have done ‘flowbench testing, dyno testing and side by side pulls’

When someone makes incredible claims and people are skeptical that is not hating…that is just healthy. Otherwise you would have loads of bullshit artists getting a free pass.

In the b6/7 forum on audizine a vendor launched a $200 ‘special alloy’ pipe to replace the oem rubber intake hose and would deliver all kinds of great things . Some were skeptical of the claims but many people bought it, literally. One guy BSRpilot even dynod his car (at the product manufacturers chosen dyno) and showed great gains. He raved about how great it was. We later found out he got a free one and was buddies with the company.

Well soon the people who bought the GSG Intake were Co planning of portable fitment and frankly that it made the car no quicker in any perceivable way. The aluminium tube became another heatsoaked part in an already hot engine bay. When people don’t minded refunds, GSG (Ghost Squad Garage) disappeared. Literally personified their name. When we did a Google Street view search of their location, it was a fucking storage locker.

So the moral of the story is that asking hard questions and demanding a higher level of proof and accountability from these companies is healthy, not hating. The only one who called us haters for being skeptical about GSG?

BSRpilot… THE GUY WHO GOT THE FREE INTAKE.

Paper, I was going to reply but Saki already did a nice job so no need to pile on… Now run along and help EC with their testing or marketing over on vendorzine… I’m sure the guy who asked for some data will get clubbed to death by the diehard EC fanboys… that should be entertaining… why don’t you go lead the charge?

Oh and as for EC being some kind of pioneer with all these high end revolutionary parts, really are you joking again? Yeah they were first to market with headers, we all know how well those work, or at least most of us do… Besides no one has ever made headers before for a car… The only part they actually thought of that is unique is the chassis brace, which by the way I have… So much for me being a hater… The rest of their parts like sways, a shifter and now an intake are parts that others have already come to market with and EC is just remaking, not much innovation really, but hey believe what you want… What about the rumored crank pulley I have heard about for the last 8 months… When will we see that?

Clochner, It’s actually funny what you did there… You caught little paperboy in a dilemma… He mentions the “stage II” intake to try and stem the noise but now realizes if he admits to having it we will ask for pics and #'s which he isn’t capable of providing since the EC won’t let him… Yeah he doesn’t work for them… LMFAO…

My guess is they rolled it out this way because stage I was low hanging fruit and it seems like they are still getting their designs for stage II finalized. No idea what it will consist of but I’m interested to see it regardless. That said, Stage I definitely doesn’t look like anything special, and I would like to see their (an others’) data

FWIW, though, they do put out quality products in general from my experience. Their short shifter is well-engineered and far and away the best for the B8 and the Alu Kreuz and USS just flat out work and work well. My car is more fun and predictable to drive with them installed and it seems to have higher limits. They also seem to be good guys that are working to promote and drive growth for the platform and are more than willing to set up group buys and discounts and try to make their customers happy.

Far and away the best…compared to what? There’s the former Strat which is just a shorter knob, but what about the JHM? Any of you guys have the JHM short shifter? They dominate the B5/B6/B7 market. EuroCode is a bit of an afterthought.

speaking strictly about the shifter. i have had both and the jhm on multiple diff cars. the eurocode is far better and just feels more solid. has more adjustability and feels far crisper than the jhm ever did and i have nothing but love for jhm. but credit is due to where its deserved. anything but the EC shifter for the b8 would be the afterthought here. many have switched over from the jhm to the EC and are happier

I have the JHM SS. It’s very nice. One can adjust the spring resistance for reverse, otherwise everything else is static. It is far superior to the stock shifter and I’ve enjoyed mine.

The EC one allows you to adjust the same spring, keep the stock plastic bearing (who would do that?) or use their metal one, adjust the shift height to 3 different heights, and adjust the throw to three different settings. As far as customization features, it is superior to the JHM B8 shifter. I haven’t tested one though, so I can’t comment on how it feels in comparison.

I’ve had both JHM and Eurocode short shifters. The Eurocode is far superior, and that isn’t a knock on the JHM. The JHM is basically the same stock design but all metal and with a shorter throw and knob height and interchangeable reverse springs. The Eurocode is a superior design with less play where the lever connects to the pivot piece which connects to the linkage. It uses the same reverse spring as stock, which is fine, but offers 3 throw adjustability settings and is infinitely adjustable for height. From a pure feel perspective, it’s damn close to a gated shifter. In short, OEM < Strat < JHM <<< Eurocode.
