Another new intake...

Really? What “special treatment” are you referencing? If you would like I can post my $1,500 invoice from 2010 when I purchased the APR tune? That’s right I paid full price… I didn’t buy the pulley directly from APR I bought it through ECS and was given a nice discount as a results of letting them keep my car for a week to dyno, make and install video, do a photoshoot(that’s my Quartz B8 in all their ads),and design some parts for the B8 that they would sell… Oh and those dyno results were horrible but I still posted them for all to see, unlike some of these other folks who claim to have data but don’t share… In the end I basically paid ECS’s vendor cost for the pulley, I’ll gladly post that as well if you would like, which I am sure won’t make APR happy but I’ll do it anyway… Finally, the only other APR parts I have on my car is the CPS which I did get a discount on because it was “on sale”, you do know APR occasionally runs sales, right?

Now I’ll guess what you are referring to is my various tweaks to the tune I have had over the years? In case you weren’t aware APR pretty much always revises their tunes as the platform develops so those “freebies” are given to everyone else as well as me… The fact that they let me test it helped them just as much if not more than it did me… Let me ask you who would you want to test a tune? A guy who just drives the car and uses his butt dyno to say yeah my car is fast, kind of like you, or someone who is willing to do countless logs send them to APR, pay to ship the ecu there and back do more logs and take the car to the strip and post vids and results of that… I wonder how many people I influenced to buy the APR tune? I’ll go out on a limb and say more than anyone else…

Also, since your new to the B8 S4 scene and Audi’s in general you may want to go read some of my posts where I criticized APR on all the forums for not flashing my car correctly the first time and for not having the pulley tune correct when they released it because they didn’t test on a DSG car and it caused some issues, kind of like the giac tune is doing from what I hear… I have never met Arin in person, we are “friends” on facebook and we do trade emails and such about the car and he is helping me with plans for the TTRS if the fucking thing ever shows up… So your analogy is pretty weak… Anything else you would like me to address?

Oh and I wasn’t online much last night… Did I miss the benchflow #'s?

^^ Is that what he was referring to with his Deion Sanders quip? What a joke. It’s not surprising though - dude throws out so many unsupported arguments. Just look at this thread alone. I’m still waiting for a single comment from him supporting his car forum v. amazon customer review argument (LOL). Then there’s the few other questions I’ve asked him in this thread - no response there as well.

My amazon analogy was about sample bias, period. I don’t understand why you feel the need to waste anymore time e-thugging it out on such petty stuff.

As for my comments about prime time, don’t try and read too deeply into my criticism. Merely pointing out the fact that a consumer will cultivate loyalty towards a company that provides great service, as most of your recent posts are all but spreading the love for APR - and everyone else is garbage.

I will take your (prime time) word for it about the apr criticsm, as I don’t have time to go back and reread everything. My deon sanders quip was trying to bring out some fun/comedy, this thread just got way to serious (partly my fault)

It was an analogy that makes not a shred of sense. Can’t believe you’re still clinging to it. “e-thugging”?? YOU BROUGHT IT UP. And what is “e-thugging”?

WHERE HAVE I SAID THAT “EVERYONE ELSE” IS GARBAGE? Point to me to it. Do you recognize your behavior of lodging completely false allegations against people? And don’t worry, I’m not reading deeply into anything your write at this point - it’s all at the surface level . . .

You failed, and therefore, by definition, have committed type 1 error.

I just dont see the need to continue arguing a point that brings no value to the conversation. Shall we go back and forth with wikipedia quotes until we are both satisfied?

And, relax. The first paragraph was directed at you, the other two were in response to primetime’s post. I am not accusing you of anything.

nothing yet.

did john at roc-euro ever do this? id like to see them.

Dont think anyone has. Not publicly anyway

Well that was fun. Sooooo, the 034 hose?

So did I miss those flow #'s or are they still not posted?

Let’s recap shall we…

Claimed 15hp and 12tq, yet no dynos… Claimed 40 miles per tank improvement, no proof… Claimed improved flow over stock and the competition yet no flow bench or air mass #‘s posted, no proof… Yet they are "shipping out like crazy’’… mmmmmm koolaid…

This just in the good news is it does fit the B8.5…

Where are those flowbench #'s paper? Step up and prove me wrong…

good summary. Standard internet business.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but no intake OEM has provided what you request. Shall we conduct our own?

Any of you guys ever consider doing a setup with the pipe running down to the passenger side fog area like mine? My secondary air pump was relocated and my massive filter sits down there with no problem. Brings in air cool air without the engine heat contaminating it.

While I have no vag data to back it up, I think it is a pretty respectable setup so long as it’s feasible on the S4. I picked up 3/10ths in the 1/4th* (several variables changed as well…including driver skill) though my traps stayed the same. Previous setup was similar to the Roc-Euro.

I also dont have the data to support this but I suspect the open element set-ups aren’t that bad. After a night of 60-130 we met up and immediately popped the hood and the supply pipe was cold to the touch.

I agree. Seems Roc-Euro/USP are currently the best off-the-shelf options for the S4.

Only one company has made this flow testing claim and only one company has fan boys running around holding up these flowbench tests as if they are proof of something.

Thats the only company being asked to provide the data.

How is this so hard? You are stricken with an epic case of Stockholm syndrome. Only euro code has not kidnapped you, just your money. And for that, you feel compelled to defend them at every turn, to the detriment of your own reputation on forums, especially this one. It’s very odd.

Primitime is fighting for better accountability for claims made by tuners, and clochner is fighting for more clarity from embedded operative marketing campaigns. You on the other hand are fighting against both guys.

Basically you are on the side of NOT having companies prove their outlandish claims…and you are on the side of people NOT being completely clear about their business relationships with the tuning companies whose products they are actively touting.

Thats fucked up. Are you sure you belong here?

All I did was ask for the data concerning flow numbers for competitive intakes – so that we can compare and contrast, steering the discussion towards a more technical dialogue.

Yet we get this drivel of drama.

This is getting tiring. Where are all the technical threads you guys talk about? Oh wait, lets just wait for another retarded post from Audizine.

Yawn.

Yet…your at 102 posts now…can’t help yourself from coming here, huh?

I wonder if GOD can manipulate the member status under the user name…

You won’t get it, but others will

So now we have a jab about post count, followed up by (literally) name calling.

Have fun with you circle jerk guys. I tried to assimilate, but it turned out to be more of the same.

And you were on lighter winter tires the first time when you ran 12.9, right? I think your new intake helped shaving those 3/10ths. Conditions were definitely better, but you were also running summer tires in 35-40 degree temps.
