Anything interesting going on around here?

You’re such an antagonistic pussy. I was laughing at his ‘cherry popping run ugh’ comment. It’s called laughing with him.

So 13.0 @ 111 was the best. A lot better than 13.4 @ 105 for sure.

Still lots of et left on the table there.

What were conditions like? Tshirt weather?

How did you stage the car?deep? Shallow?

What rpm did you shift at?

What launch technique did you use?

Yep, all I could muster. Really wanted 12.x especially after the realization was its just not that fast.

Shorts and T-shirt prolly 80°+

Not 100% sure? Deep I believe as there were two sets of stage lights, and I would trip the second set.

Shits a blur really (expected). I tried my best to shift as close to 7k (per JHM recommend) as possible. Went over it a few times though and under shot it others.

Launch was granny roll out for most part. I got the balls to rev to maybe 3k or so a couple passes. Only made 5 and said I’ve had enough. Want to drive this car home and writing was on the wall.

Too bad. So you drove 3 hrs there, heatsoaked it pretty good and had no help since Dan was unavailable? Bummer. It’s always nice to have a buddy there who can give you some pointers.

Was it fun?

I’m liking the 111 trap. Now you have a benchmark to beat next time. Shame Dan couldn’t make it out. I’m always grateful to Saki for being there on my first time out. My first ever runs were in the 15 @ 93 range and after getting some pointers (like turn off ESP lol) I squeezed a 13.8 out of my stock Avant.

Keep going, drag some mates along, I love the social element.

Ya, Dan wasn’t feeling up to it. Yep close to 3 hrs. No worries though. I dont have a helmet either (barely needed it ;)) Was going to borrow one from Dan. Almost got my money back, but said F that shit, so I ended up borrowing the track owners grandsons helmet. Dudes were cool. Also got to see a fight so that was a bonus.

Haha dragstrip fight for real? Hahahaha that’s awesome. Going to scare away the quattroworld.com guys from ever going so keep that story quiet lol.

Hopefully next time. I am a little disappointed with that trap mph. Honestly going in I was hoping for low to mid 12’s and mid to high teens, but was not all too surprised at results. I am guessing a lot has to do with crap CA91 pump and pretty warm temps but who knows. Combined with what I believe to be a conservative tune and rookie status, the results are the results.

Had fun though and my car made it home in one piece, bonus!

Yep. A little slap boxing amongst brothers and a full on back down. A little anticlimstic but a fight nonetheless. My girlfriend was cracking up but ready to get out of there. Said the track was epitome of boys peacocking…fights, reving engines, burnouts, etc…pretty funny

I gotta say, I cannot stand listening to that antilag/launch control/whatever you call it shit. All the civics there were running that shit. I know it serves its purpose but annoying nonetheless

FAW, I posted a video with no excuses… Just a reminder.

Happy, good work buddy! The track isn’t exactly around the corner so you pretty much dedicated a Saturday to make it happen. What did you have from DQ?

My usual blizzard with Reese’s and Snickers ;D. Girl had her usual the peanut buster parfait. Always a welcomed treat. I have simple tastes and needs…

Saki - as far as heat soak goes, I got there shortly after 11 and didn’t run until noon. Also upon recommendation.

Your car being heat soaked would have been an excuse. The more your talk about the track, the harder it will be to resist making an excuse. So far you are doing great. You went to the track because you wanted to. That is all that matters.

I’m going to try to help you get motivated for a future return to the track; what other cars do you recall being at the track and what did they run?

Hmm, there were some blown boss 302 (i think) stangs there. They were low to mid 12’s at around 120 or so (fat rear slicks and skinny front wheels) A few full on drag cars like a vette that went 9.0x @ 150ish maybe 154. A bunch of other muscle cars like camaros, some later model camaros running pretty damn fast. I think one of the civics put down a crazy fast low 9 @ 145.

Lots of trailered cars. Very few street driven. Wasn’t too crowded though so that was nice.

Honestly was just trying to wrap my head around what I was doing there :D. Narcisistic I guess?

My favorite car there was a 1940’s Ford. I think he put down a mid-higher 9 @ 14x.

Did I miss somewhere that you laughed at him?

People hated on Jupiter for running 13s with 770s cause they don’t understand basic things, I am not going to be one to do that, even if his car should be way quicker and faster. I unlike some understand its a sum of all parts equation. I hope no one says he flopped at the track as others have recently said about certain cars. If they do I will probably antagonize them.

Ya. It does feel like a bit of a flop. Not because of anyone’s comments though. That shit is just fluff and wouldn’t really phase me anyway. The results or lack there of speak for themselves. Would definitely like to see this car movin out a bit quicker. Really have always had the same goal as most and that is get the most out of my car with the sum of all parts like you say. Maybe this is the most? Maybe small tweaks and modifications could yield better results? Time and effort will tell.

Oh and probably some $$$ >:(;D>:(;D

Who hated on Jupiter ever? I think you are too far up AMD’s ass. You don’t know which way is up. Nobody hated whatsoever on either guy.

With respect to Jupiter running whatever he did there’s clearly more in it if he is cutting 2.2 sixty foot times so his runs don’t prove anything, good or bad. Neither do these runs prove abything about rs6r.

The difference here being that we know that running rs6r on good fuel and a 93 file with stock motor, good cooling and exhaust can produce trap speeds in the mid 120s. With the 770 cars we know only that they have produced mediocre at best results with any type of modlist other than a built motor running mega octane (tonyaiello). All the other 770 times have been epl cars, and have been disappointing results. No hate. Just facts. I would love to see otherwise.

If these guys are running hot cars in 80 degree heat running California 91 I don’t expect much out of them. Nobody is hating on anything.

Was that a joke? Well if it wasn’t, please try on this tee shirt for size.

  1. you agreed with someone about you having a bad launch. Shit you drove the car, you know how whit went down, there was no Ned to talk about your launch, unless…

  2. you blamed your dyno chart and please don’t say you didn’t. Your video was purposely posted in that {AMD dyno #'s thread} so your car could be an example of how a BEAFY dyno chart from epl didn’t yield you an 11sec pass.

I still applaud you for posting your video, but don’t get carried away.

I am one of the best at bullshitting a bullshitter. always REMEMBER that.

NICE video.
Who’s car did the beeping? That last beep was short. It seemed like it was your car and if it was, you got a little jump on him.
Also if it was your car, it gave you the advantage. I am also pretty sure you ran him in your power band, your sweet spot.

If you can do a pull like this, you should never have another reason for not going to the track and doing your 10sec pass.

It was a nice video.
