tell me about it

pics

Pics of your girlfriend’s cousin?

Ha! Got me by 12 seconds.

Saki, you could be her grandfather lol

ok track junkies i just thought of an issue… lol im on snow tires. i sold my wheels cus im getting some adv’s for the spring time. how will that affect my times and such if at all. should i try to find someone to lend me some wheels lol?

I wouldnt worry about it, cabracco used to go with his snow tires all the time and still ran good times.

If its colder the rubber may be better suited for the pavement than a sticky summer

good enough for me thanks brian

Depends on sizing…but as beem said, they’ll probably help.

Post the size/brand and wheel size/brand

vredestein wintrac 255/35/19 on factory titanium 19’s

lot more weight than the BBS… what tires were you running on the BBS’s?

For me… stock 19’s + Dunlop Sport Maxx GT = 58lbs… BBS CHR + Conti Sport DWS = 47lbs… 11lbs delta…

Thanks for the welcome guys.

yeah Saki- I’m Stage II with version 1 tune and AWE tuning intake. The tune is dumping a ton of boost for me (20-25%) in this weather. Timing is also being pulled with this crappy winter gas we have. Hopefully, from what Richi says, the next version is worth it. Is 20 whp that APR advertised that noticeable? My car is running pretty strong so I might not get the same Wow factor Richi experienced, as his was probably down on power with the CPS leak he had (as we saw on that awe dyno day), which is now fixed. He might have had an additive effect of the CPS fix and the version 2 tune together.

As far as cars- we had a 996 GT2 which supposedly runs mid 10s. I don’t know why he comes out. Never see him run. Just hear stories. Guy is quite the character though. Car is crazy fast.

There was also a Stage III B5 S4 that came out. He is running RS4 turbos, manifold, injectors, Autospeed tune, custom down pipe, exhaust… the one good run we had (third gear pull)… he pulled like 3-3.5 cars up to top of fourth gear. He was running pump tune. I’m afraid to see that car on race gas and 27 psi.

Another guy came out with a JB4 135i with meth, intercooler, etc… Both the Revo and B5 S4 took turns raping him from a dig. Kid was not happy.

It was a fun night.

Paul- when you get your car back… I’d love to meet up for some pulls. Your car is gonna sound insane.

As far as Atco goes… you are right… there will be a ton of 12.5-12.7 times with the DSGs especially if they are hanging up on first gear like I did when I tried the Revo car for one run. and sure enough… 12.67? @ 112 was my time IIRC. It was last run and we did manage to take out spare tire, tools etc from trunk too, and drop driver weight by 75 lbs.

It might be something to note but the runs got slower and slower for the Revo car as the day went on (12.4-12.67?) while the DSG Stage 1 APR car we took a few months earlier got faster and faster with each progressive run (7 runs total I believe), and with not as ideal track conditions (DA, temp).

Everyone thinks that the DSG cars are hella easy to run at the track… Granted you have less variables etc, but what Ron does is not easy. Everyone thinks they can run an 11.79 with race gas. It’ll be fun. Can’t wait for the sword fighting.

I don’t mind being a log bitch for this event. Seeing as how Rich had issues he wasn’t even aware of, I’d be happy to know that everything is 100%. Seems like some other folks have had some sporadic, random mechanical issues slowing them down as well.

Don’t think I’d mind making a few runs for the hell of it. Least I could do is learn a thing or two. Haven’t raced at a track since my B5 S4 and that was wayyyyyy back.

Wow the OEM 19" Peelers/Dunlop setup is that much heavier than the 19" Titaniums/Pirelli’s? (~50lbs is what I got when I weighed my titaniums).

The 18" Enkei EKM3/Conti DWS Winter setup I have weighs in at ~45lbs per.

on the ch-r’s I was running the factory p-zeros. on my new setup I’ll be running 255/35/19 re-11’s on 19x10 adv’s

you’ll waste all your weight savings on the wheels by runinng RE-11s

Great track day tires…but terrible acceleration tires. May want to reconsider that and get some Michelin Pilot Super Sports on there.

saki i wanted those but i just figured cus i already had two new re-11’s sitting in the garage. maybe i can sell em

contact 91gl…he has been finding some great tire deals for guys

I’m about 3 hours ahead of you saki lol
