richi, what ive learned through my years are trying to kill it at the launch is that it just doesnt work. you want it to be smooth and drama free. with your headers id try launching it at under 2500 and slipping the clutch to get a smooth clean launch. thats when your car will really move out
Call me a conspiracy theorist but I think he was running race gas… I guess will see when he goes back with race gas and runs again… he said he plans to keep the car just tuned with no other mods and run 100, because he thinks he will run 11’s… I just don’t see it happening w/o at least an intake and catback…
of course he is, he stayed in the faster left lane and got there after the major winds died down… ron you should let him drive your car so he can show you how to do it right :
[quote=Audi A5]Nice, you got my first run 12.92 all stock baby!!! Thanks.
A 12 second car out of the box, I was pumped. I figure in spring if I do a tune, exhaust and intake I can get into that coveted 11 second zone. I am pretty sure I can do it.

lol
yes the plan is to go sunday, you should definitely try to make it down. weather should be in the mid 40’s and sunny so if we can hook, there should be some nice times
LOL! Well at least he is into it and seems like he wants to improve so I’ll give him credit for that… He just needs to lose the I’m an NMRA racer and I am better than everyone else attitude… Jason gets how to drive the car as I he made some very good points on AZ… practice and making small changes one at a time to see how they impact the car is the key… I’m glad he set a new best especially for the trek he made…
Pic of my various runs through the day on saturday. Probably would have ended up a bit better if I hadn’t glazed the hell out of my clutch on my first damn run =\ Definitely got better after it cooled down.
Best run (out of the right lane): 12.548 @ 112.60 60’ 1.893
YEAH! My RS4 is fun like that. Spins the tires like it’s the goal. Unfortunately it’s not. But the lead up etc…you really want to go blaze of glory and run something heroic. Easing off the line seems counterintuitive and our moron male egos just won’t let us do it.
However when I watch a GTR launch…or a 997 Turbo…I realize I’m doing it wrong. THey just leave with no drama and gradually start raping.
