Exactly. Thanks for the encouragement!

Mmmm, strawberry quik anyone? That’s what came out out of my supercharger. Oh and those metal bits were on the drain plug. Clearly water is getting into the charger somehow.

The normal looking red oil at upper right was clean s/c oil used to try and flush as much of that nonsense out.

Uh oh that’s not good. What were you checking that made you want to check that?

Regular maintenance. S/C is self contained and lubricated, well supposed to be, and the oil should be replaced at each oil change interval.

Wow you dont want water to get in there that is something you want to look into

During the break in you might see shards from what I have read. The HD units and SI units have patttern ware and the blowers actually have a gear set that honestly breaks in.

the only other thing I think is odd is that its actually normal for the blower to weep oil out after a oil change.

Think maybe water is getting in through breather bolt on top of housing during power touchless car washes? So small I wouldnt think so and I didnt notice a check valve to check per say. Maybe it wasnt fully seated or something? I dont know. This car is giving me more grey hairs by the day.

I’m going to check again this weekend. Going to back the drain plug out just enough to let a few drops run out to assess the color/condition. Try and rule out that it didnt happen after 2 days at least.

If it helps. Your a pioneer for this car and clearly the Allroad comunity. Sure little thing after little thing will pop up and whlle I know that can be hair pulling at times it also makes you the master of the car.

Youll learn all kinds of stuff. I know your a little new to the 4.2 and before the summer heat takes off too much from your past posts you drive in some hot hot temps. Make sure you use 50w for the motor and always on long trips keep an eye on the oil. The PCV system is very agressive and will pull in oil at steddy rpms also note that the JHM supercharger helps pull even more crank case air out so with some of these long trips you take keep an eye on that.

The blower oil generally needs to be changed each oil change or if you were not in high rpm pulls you can go every two oil changes. You will know if you have enough oil in the supercharger if after a pull or two a little oil weeps out.

That comes back to the point of the water. thinking about it if the supercharger is meant to weep oil that would also led itself to something weeping back into the charger so maybe make sure to not spray the charger directly when washing the car.

Ya, I only go through touchless power washes and often under carraige cleaning but the belly pan should be helping there, but I will stop and only wash in bays now.

It has been a bit of a learning curve with a lot left to learn. I really wish it had gone a bit smoother with all the time and money devoted with less than expected in return, but we’ll get there.

Here’s some C5 Allroad inspiration for you from a fellow Allroad owner:

I know of 4rings. Nice guy, badass car and build

We gave Goodspeed your contact information. Have they reached out to you yet?

Yes Jake. I am holding off until I try one last ditch effort from home. Have a windows7 home premium edition os ordered and on the way. In the end, if it works, is a better option to try before taking off work and drive down to Phoenix. I try and avoid it at all cost.

Thank you for your help. Any word back from vortech?

I am as close as have been to being able to flash file from home. Vpn and browser loaded on my amazon special dell laptop with windows7 os. Not bad for $150. Need to setup the cheetah cable/driver and should be good to go. Fingers crossed.

One issue I saw was when I was looking around on the jhm browser after logging on, I saw every tune under the sun. Not just my file update. Need to read up more to be sure I load the correct file.

Email Jake and he should be able to tell you which tune is your’s.

Yep. I have done so. Waiting for reply. Would love to finally get this done tonight!

So, I got a new file loaded. Not sure if it is the file however. There were 4 to choose from in my list. I chose the one that made the most sense as being a 2nd revision based on their names. Car didnt blow up and ran fine.

Went down the same stretch that would inevitably set my cel for maf signal along with the accompanying abs/esp lights. Well, it didn’t trip the fault codes. I am not sure if this is a product of resetting the ecu with any burn or if it was/is infact the correct revision doing its job?

Is it too soon to know or would it be more likely that it solved it? Thanks in advance for any feedback and insights.

I dont want to jump the gun but if the update was to fix the MAF signal and you did what would have triggered the code before I would say you should be all set. Its very usual for JHM to set code and code triggers very low vs other companys that want to turn stuff off. I know it can sometimes be kinda a naggy thing but I know that approch has saved a lot of people from having issues.

If the code dosent come back in about a week I would say your probably good.

Agreed. I was happy to finally power through my laptop struggles and get it loaded. And, I appreciate the safer approach by JHM. Fingers crossed this was the fix for this. Obviously will continue to monitor. Thanks as always for the feedback Justin

Put another 100 or so miles on it. No issues followed. Throttle response feels much less touchy and less surging. Especially on descent. CV said he was looking at that with the revision since it was primarily happening when dropping steeply from elevation.

Going for the same trip in the morning. Now need to figure out this annoying surging/dip in idle when the ac is on. Car full on stalls when coming to a stop after hwy cruising and is darn near impossible to drive in town with ac on.
