C5 allroad

Success. Logged another 100 miles or so. Encouraged by the last couple hundred miles. Car feels much more linear and smooth. Less surging on part throttle and hesitation under full. Hope I loaded the correct file 1st and foremost and that it has done the trick. Car did not stall when I came to stops with the ac on. It did rpm hunt a bit in traffic but much less. Seems to be an intermittent thing. Vac leak maybe?

Thats a good amount of time to not get the same code. Just saying that the car is smoother and the car seems to be runing better would tend to say the update clearly was helpful. After 100 miles I cant see the code coming back on unless your able to put the car into a siuation where the system is just at some weird range of air.

The not stalling with the AC on again is a positive sign. Surging can be a vac issue do you have a boost gauge in the car with vac reading on it.

I am thinking the same after the next 100 miles. Kind of feels like “oh, this is how the car is supposed to feel like” Was hesitant to believe it, but am encouraged at this point.

I have a guage waiting to install. Will read vac/boost.

Did about 14 hr round tripper this weekend. No cel!!!

Wow you really go to some nice places. Your allroad looks awesome. The B5 look aged when you put the two of them side by side.

That and code free great trip

Thanks Justin! We are fortunate to have family that live in some picturesque places. Family reunion this weekend. Was a great time!

The B5 looks classic imo. It still catches my eye and looks good in the rearview mirror. Ha!

The c5 allroad looks dated to many also. But I think it is one of audis most unique and original cars produced. Put the c5 next to a b8 allroad and the c5 looks very old but I still like it better.

It was pretty funny when stopped at a gas station in bum fuck NM and the guy filling up his diesel dually says “nice audi” “those are nice cars and that is a really nice one”

That is such a cool car, I love how it looks like just a nice family wagon, but has a dirty little secret. Could waste a Corvette while you have a bike on the roof ;D

Thanks man! Sleeper avants are the best

Threw the roof top basket on. Not sure if I love it. It does suit the car tho. Will mount the bike trays to the basket tomorrow. Will need a damn step ladder to get to them tho, especially on higher suspension levels. Lol!

Hmmm… on one hand, it looks too hippy. On the other hand, looking hippy is exactly why the allroad is so cool. Let your hippy flags fly ;D

I think it just looks too small… I mean, if you’re going to put a basket on top, go all out and stick a huge freakin’ basket on top 8)

HMMM Im with you. on the one hand it dosent look too bad. The name obviously says its not German so there is that.

I think maybe its starting to make the car look too busy. One of the tons of cool things about the car was that it was very hardcore looking. You did a great job of making the car super simple and super hardcore. Its like when people black out there cars taking off the chrome trim and other small accent pieces. So any little thing you add will pop out at you and any big thing you add will pop out at you…

Still its great to be able to get more utility out of the car.

It is for utility. They make an extension for it.

And, I have zero issue with letting my hippy flag fly. Steel your face sticker in place.

Heres how she sits with bike trays arrached. Last pic shows where I want to notch the fairing so it sits flush against the basket crossbar.

Next on list of things to do;

Fit 18z bbk (yellow calipers w/ black and red allroad badging)

Dip (yes plastidip) my flares, bumpers, rockers and probably dechrome some trim. My flares are in pretty rough shape and miscolored/paint fade/peel. Figure dipping them all one consistent color will be better. I got dark gray and it is really really close to the roof gray which is good.

Definitely the coolest wagon I’ve ever seen.

And I’m a Subaru convert. Subaru makes some great wagons. But holy shit… this project is a whole other level of cool. Great work.

If we could get S6 Avants in the US, that’s what I was going to buy when I bought my Saloon. I still would rather have the Avant version if it was a choice. An obscenely powerful station wagon is pretty much the coolest kind of car I can think of, and you nailed it.

Edit: Please don’t tell me the gas mileage is better than 20mpg, I’ll crap myself. I hope it’s got fuel mileage nearly as bad as my S6, because otherwise I’ll be tempted to go buy one for myself as a daily driver, and I can’t afford that right now, so don’t tell me that

Ha, thanks man. I am a huge fan of wagons (avants) also. Always have been. Owned an old volvo turbo wagon 20+ years ago. Even an old nissan wagon. The registration said 15 hp. Lol!

I was always really bummed the c5 rs6 avant was never a possibilty stateside. And, the newer ones are just as badass or more so.

Just say this, prior to JHM and the transformation it was a sub 20mpg car. Certainly around town. Now, well I will spare you the misery. Lol! It’s a solid low to mid 20’s conservatively cruising on the freeway…If I had a guess, I suspect your car will see a bump in mpg after its transformation as well.

looks great from every angle.

Such a badass car, I’d love to see this beast in person some day
