Chit Chat

Well it’s not the cars itself, it’s the stage 1 guys that call our cars slow and talk shit. You guys think of something witty then, because I am down… Lol

HEY!!! Cheap shots at the disabled kid over here!!! Haha jk

No I haven’t yet, but I am looking at going within 2 weeks, so stay tuned

Good point saki… it’s mostly a few bad apples… or in the 1.8 case a batch of bad apples that give them a douchy image. The 1.8 guys local to me are all for the JHM work. One of the guys is waiting for me to get dp’s and exhaust because he thinks it will be cool to see a 3.0 smoke his car lmao.

Do it Motorsports! We need some friendly competition going. Then we can start saying we lost time slips and get our dads to race our cars for us :stuck_out_tongue:

I need to talk my dad in to going heads up against me with his d3 s8 :stuck_out_tongue:

d3 s8?? Siiiick!!! Not sure what they run in the 1/4 mile, but it would be an interesting race. Lots of powaaa but they are pretty heavy

the D3 S8 probably runs pretty similar to the C6 S6, which iirc is like higher 13’s which isnt all that impressive for a 5.2L V10… tuned to be tame unfortunately.

All that motor just has to keep up with all that weight lol

Alright a little less “attacking” whatabout “30V30” or “ITSAV6” because so many people ask “is that the one with turbo?” no. It isn’t. Lol

Or “JHM FTW” haha

3PTSLONOMO

Only get 5-7 letters to play with man  lol

Quit replying!! How are we supposed to get caught up!! Lmao

Zingo, love your passion! love everyones passion with the 3.0, you guys really are taking off and you deserve it because of all those shit talkers. show them what you are made of. its easy to mod a turbo car, the aftermarket is massive, but to mod a NA car is something truly special because you work to make the car so efficient rather than cramming more boost down its throat.

last year i purchased a b6 1.8t that needed quite a bit of work and as i took the car apart and put it back together, i couldnt help to notice how poorly and cheaply that motor was built. i ended up just selling the car because it just was not worth it. long live the 3.0, you guys will be making headlines soon enough. it took me 5 years to get where i am and it was worth it and it only just begun.

Well how about ZINGO30 or ZINGO3L

That’s what I’m talkin about lout. I’ll have to give those a try. I mean what are the chances lmao

Well given that your other one was already taken …

zingo3L is solid.

Maddog offhandedly mentioned turbos, and while I dont have any interest in a TT setup (would prefer a s/c setup). It brought up a question in my small mind.

Say a single turbo option was investigated and found to be cost effective. What would be the math behind this? For example, would a single K04’ed 3.0 yield any performance gain?

OR do turbos work in the same way a supercharger does, in which case too small of a turbo would just be a useless hairdryer/PES supercharger?

Single turbo is fine and the only record of one that I know about is some Russian guy did a single turbo on his 3.0. It would all come down to the choice of turbo. Ko4 maybe to small for a single application, t28 should be about the right size

t28 is the one used for 1.8T stage 3 setups right? I wonder if an average sized turbo would make for a good middleground on the 3.0. I can’t see the car hitting too much over 200whp with boltons, and the next step would be a supercharger which would bring it up to like 400whp.

That, and it would be super instant power as the 3.0 would spool a turbo way better than a 1.8. A guy in my local audi club mentioned this idea to me awhile ago, just forgot about it until now.

turbos won’t happen because

  1. nobody will bother with fabbing this up
  2. if they do, nobody will tune it effectively
  3. turbo power on a 3.0 (an engine we don’t really even know the limits of yet) will require a built engine

So, at the end of the day it will never happen (succesfully). Someone will do it and tune it horribly, and the car will run like a 3.0 with full bolt ons.

Personally, if I had a 3.0 I’d just wait for JHM to destroy a couple 3.0 motors with their Vortech or nitrous kits, and get on board with them when they’ve done all of the due dilligence.

How many BHF V8’s were destroyed in the R&D for our cars?!

3 or 4 (that I know of)

I put my hand through the rather impressive hole that a jettisoned piston blew through the block on a JHM turbo car. Pretty insane.

Lol the one that accidentally ran way too much PSI?

Yea I’ve already talked to the tuner at length about the FI options, and am convinced that the s/c setup they are looking into is by far the best solution. My question was more out of curiosity, I suppose the engine is too untested to even guess at it.

I was actually told that a turbo option with a custom manifold would probably be cheaper than doing the s/c, however the performance difference between the two easily makes up for the additional cost.

Unrelated, but I’m so jelly that I live thousands of miles away from all the JHM action!
