Does JHM Still Technically Hold the B5 S4 Record 1/4 Mile Time?

It’s a pretty amazing motor…it’s definitely a torque monster. I’m by no means an expert on the motor yet, but I have read its full boost at ~2500 RPMs. I’d be willing to bet the reasons for it not trapping higher and having a faster ET is the shitty aerodynamics that come into play at higher speeds.

As for the 60’ it’s probably just the right balance of power and weight. I know it’s hard for you to not light up the tires out of the whole which in turn makes it hard for a killer 60’ and the ecoboost really can get this thing moving. My wife even said “holy shit” one day when I was getting into it…lol

The funny part is my best time in the S4 is a 1.78 60’ 8.2 (1/8) and 12.86, soon I will have a truck that runs close to the same, but can pull a boat or haul misc items when need be. I plan on surprising a lot of the Diesels around town.

You should take a gander at what Full-Race is doing with the Eco-boost. They had some interesting things from Ford on display at PRI.

Good stuff man, I’m just leaning towards livernois because its their tune that’s on the fastest trucks. They also have a lot of R&D in the works for upgraded turbos and motor builds. Full race products look great though I’m really interested in their behind the grille intercooler setup. I don’t plan on going mod crazy quite yet. Probably wait until the the truck is paid for in 2 years or so.

CV has a ford excursion with a massive turbo that sounds like a jet engine when it idles. It’s crazy. Would like to see it run.

That ecoBoost engine is very impressive. I’ve seen a really quick tuned and modified Lincoln MKS with it. Cadillac is getting a twin turbo 3.6 next year. Interesting times.

You must be out yo god damm mind

Really? Eurocode went 10.87 at 131.66 back in 2007. http://www.ecodetuning.com/shop/static/Media/ETpage3.jpg

Got a timeslip?

Again you’re a gosh damn moron. How the fuck would he have a time slip if the car is not his? It’s in the fucking magazine.

Oh the timeslip is in the magazine? So since he seems to have the magazine scanned, he might have the timeslip is what you’re saying? So you just contradicted yourself.

See why nobody listens to you anymore? Useless. You’ll see just how useless you are soon.

What are you idiots going for?..proving people wrong?

You found a stripped out race car that also went 10.8…5 fucking years ago.

[quote]Meanwhile, EuroCode was struggling to find the speed of its initial run as the air temperature continued to rise. They eventually hit 11.3sec, then finally reached 11 dead before we began to question their insistence on retaining the full interior. After that, they disappeared back to their trailer and stripped out the seats and removed the exhaust. Returning to the track, the S4 ripped to 10.87sec at 131mph and was promptly removed from the track by the officials for not having a cage fitted.

To be honest, if someone produces timeslips and confirms that the track was a real certified track, I will immediately add it to the list. I have asked for this a bunch of times and nobody produces anything or confirms anything. It’s really annoying. We get a magazine that says ‘they ran 10.87’ but that’s it. Does EuroCode advertise in the magazine? Is it really an impartial source of information? All of these are questions that make me just want to see the damn timeslip but for whatever reason nobody produces it.

The last time a EuroCode customer (a former employee as it turned out) came into this thread to promote the EuroCode car was a few weeks ago. Paperboy. I asked him for timeslips and modlist so I could add it to the list, and he completely ignored that, and just kept rabbiting on about how it’s ‘way faster than JHM’ (1/100th of a second lol)

I am sure this will cause a big ole argument and my karma will surely plummet but I gotta say this weight thing is bullshit. I am tired of hearing it, no one goes to the strip and chases 10s in these cars and doesn’t pull something.

Case in point the Jhm car, its been said a bunch (never by them that I remember) that not only were they full weight but that the stereo gear and shit was in the trunk and I just personally can’t believe that without seeing it with my own eyes. Number one, jay isn’t stupid, he was chasing a time, just like with the low 11s I seriously doubt he would handicap himself like that. Number two, I know a little bit about b5 s4s and his ass end would bottom on launch with hundreds of pounds of subs and amps.

That was just my prime example. Many people bitch if someone pulls a rear seat, but then do it themselves and neglect to mention it. People go and chase a time, 13s, 12s, 11s, 10s and so on, no one is going to do so and not remove random bullshit atleast that might be in the car normally. If they do, they are wasting their efforts, time and money.

I completely agree its a douche move to claim full interior if you aren’t, just like saying you are on pump when its e85, its sneaky and all that. But this whole full weight thing is tired. No heavily worked car is full weight unless the person buys shit parts because half the reason for many of our mods is a weight savings.

As for eurocode, I can’t stand David serabi and think his shop, his insurance frauds and everything surrounding him is a total joke but that car did run that time, I was there. The gp events were ran very honestly back then, haven’t been to one in years but back then no shop involved would have tolerated fudging of the numbers.

There’s nothing wrong in that post. Personally, I take folks at their word until they prove me different (unfortunately happens often enough). Not enough time in the day to dissect and ridicule every minutia in life.

Stand up is stand up. Bullshit is…waste of everyone’s time. Not that hard of a concept really.

I like something I read/saw recently…silence sure beats bullshit

why would you ask me for a timeslip? It wasnt my car and I wasnt at the track when it happened? It was at an official track (Fontana) and I know Eurotuner magazine had an actual video of the 10 second ass on their website at one point sakimoto, why dont you go dig it up? I alredy know the time it ran and it was a full street car without seats. If you want to know more about it and would like a timeslip why dont you contact David at Eurocode and ask him.

Exactly, issue is that often its other people making claims for the actual owner of a given car in a given discussion, throwing out what they believe to be true as fact.

People use to see my rear seats pulled and that turned into my car being gutted. I have seen people get chastised like that in comparison with others who supposedly run “full weight” and it irks the shit out if me cause its a bit misleading.

Exactly people call Bullshit on something when they werent there and apparently didnt know anything about it till someone mentioned it. But at every one of those GP events there are many competing shops that are rivals and people see what happens, its not done behind closed doors. If any of the numbers were off for any reason other shops or even guests that some of the shops bring are all there to witness the Dyno’s and the dragstrip events when they had dragstrip events.

you karma will plummet if you’re wrong and say stupid shit for the sake of it. If you want some facts to come out, there’s no problem.

Let’s look at your post and help you break it down

  1. weight matters to me, but not to some. I don’t really care to be honest. I think if you can do it full weight that’s far more impressive. So is doing it on pump gas in the car’s daily driver form. People love to say ‘my B5 S4 is as fast as a Ferrari’ but then fail to mention that the Ferrari is always as fast as a Ferrari, and their B5 S4 is only as fast as a Ferrari when they meet a load of conditions (lw track wheels on, nice looking street wheels off, race gas, race tune on, back seats out etc. ). When I go to the strip, I take all the loose shit out of my car. There’s no spare to remove from an RS4 but I used to remove it from my B7 S4. I leave the seats in because it’s noot a fucking Honda at a friday night ricer party on the street lol. I’m sure I could go about 1 or 1.5 tenths quicker with no interior, but I’m not at the strip to set a time…I’m there to benchmark my car and the platform. If there are no seats in it, it’s hardly a benchmark for my car or platform, is it?

  2. JHM’s car ran 11.1 , and then posted a 4 minute long video of it on youtube. Watch it.

http://jhmtuning.com/videos/onecut.wmv

It was a nocut video where Dan ran from the stands, while filiming to meet with Jason as he came down the return lane, opened all the doors and lifted the hood/trunk. They made that 11.1 pass with no exhaust and open dumps (back in the 11.1 days). The stereo shit was removed…Jason never claimed he didn’t. He mentions that he ran with it still in the car on other passes. I think you’re confusing maybe his 11.51 time when he had the stereo? They have since put full exhaust on the car and gone 10.88 as we all know. You can see in the videos of the car that the full interior is there. I think you need to actuallly watch the videos and get to know the facts, rather than listening to JHM haters and taking their excuses for JHM kicking the shit out of their times as ‘facts’.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=JglEI7LqLP8

  1. The Ecode time will get added as soon as I see a timeslip and a modlist so I can add all the information. Same goes for everyone.

Saki, you and I are in the same page here. The fast as a ferrari comment is priceless because I hear that shit often.

I never recall jay or Dan making crazy claims, it was always others who would in an attempt to discredit other fast times. The Jhm car and passes where incorrectly claimed many times as having (iirc) 250 lbs of stereo gear, baby seats, or whatever present that I am sure are totally factual for some passes, but not for their record passes.

That is all, I just think we shouldn’t pick and choose what gets discredited for these random things that are only an issue when it fits a particular motive. A run is a run, a time is a time, a trap is a trap. Some people really do daily their cars with stuff pulled, heck half the s4 owners I know have probably never even had rear seat passengers, so why not loose the dead weight.

or worse…it’s their detractors shitting on their accomplishment

i.e. what you just did to JHM. Fail. Go watch those videos. Here’s what Jason posted on every Audi forum on earth after he ran that time.
