epl b8s4 tune

Looks like he probably had DA of -800 if dragtimes is correct - says natural bridge is right at sea level v his previous which was about +2300 ft

I give Saxon respect for writing this post, even though it’s clearly due to EPL slighting him on some $$.

Anyways, just thought it is interesting how right a lot of the people here were, despite it always turning into a pissing war.

yeah, if I were to give him respect, I would want to see him come back here, eat shit, and apologize. All we did was try to save him thousands of dollars and hours of time and frustration, because we knew EPL was fucking useless.

In response, all he did on the other hand was act like a fucking maniac protecting Tony from us telling him the truth…and here 2 years later, the EXACT shit we warned him about was happening all along. He’s just finally admitting it.

Wow. Not surprising - but at least he finally admitted it. He did act like a complete jackass on here and may have accumulated the worst karma rating of any member.

The thing I learned early on was just listen to the smart people - they know what they’re talking about here. Too bad saxon didn’t get the idea.

in case anyone forgets how far back AR shining a spotlight on how shit EPL is

someone tried to say to saxon ‘oh it was because you were an early customer…maybe it’s different now’

what’s different…maybe the EPL standard practice of lying to customers and selling dyno sheets for cars that accelerate poorly is different? Nope. That’s the EPL way, for the past 8 years. Amazing how people still get fooled.

BUT THEY TUNE PORSCHES!!!

Yeah, because it’s tough to jack up a boost request on a 996 turbo. We can do that on my old blackberry.

Did saxon ever disclose his sweetheart deal with Tony? I don’t recall.

Also, weren’t we asking him for at least one more time slip before adding him to the database? If so, we now know why he refused lol

And that’s the thing as don’t just say this about EPL we all say it about the other company’s or people who suck at tuning. There are a few standouts in each platform. Giac and apr dominate in the b8 and you would be a fool to get a different tune. But people who want the deep discounts for crappie tunes call the happy and successfully tuned APR or giac fan boys. Same with the 4.2 there is only one true standout company and if you say that your a fan boy. Fan boy to be honest is something we should all be. The only difference is we smart people are fan boys because we got great results not a great hefty discount. Notice how epl said Saxton got a hefty discount. Now when you see epl posts about the b8 just know your reading another review from someone that probably got a hefty discount.

Not sure it was discussed here, but what bothered me recently is someone posted an EPL Stage 1 log that ran 0.90 lambda to redline (even “the leanest of all” stock curve tapers to 0.80 due to what IIRC APR says is based on a modeled EGT ‘protection’ threshold). Tony responded saying they measured EGT with a probe and there was no change running richer than what their tune does. Not sure I buy it. Then he posted a stock map showing it only runs 0.90 or leaner as well. I wonder if his tune disabled the EGT protection curve.

LOL@ Saxon… That was a dick post for sure… He posts under the guise of well since “I’ve seen a lot of reviews lately”… Really?

I think this is his apology… lol He’s ashamed he didn’t listen and went with EPL?

[QUOTE=saxon;10986052]apr times below, i never took a picture of all the times from epl as i was ashamed of how inconsistent they were

Anyway, I like how Tony says he just needs more data points… lol Dude this platform has been out in the US since late 2009, heck I ran 12.06 stage I in Nov 2010, it’s now 2015 and 5+ years later… They’re going back and forth now this will be fun… Again, I think it’s more a dick post than anything…

^^ he’s a VERY shady guy, as was transparently evident from his time on AR. Getting a straight answer from him was like pulling teeth. I think that’s why everyone grew tired of him real quickly.

Edit: referring to saxoff. I’m not sure if Tony is shady, but definitely incompetent at his trade.

For sure… I asked him for logs several times and he would never share… One day he emails me some logs, I review and offer honest feedback… He then is all critical of me after telling me they are APR logs and not EPL… I didn’t care whos logs they were I was looking at the data objectively… He’s better off with an M3…

Just noticed they “moved” Saxon’s thread, IE locked it… lol Tony must have complained…

Hahaha AZ is nothing if not consistent in that regard

Finally, another new EPL time… And it’s well not very good… Granted it’s a 6 speed but based on video dude can drive… 12.8 at 109 with tune and intake… Wonder what the 60ft was? DA seems to have been in the 600-1200 range depending on when he made the pass…

Glad “Tony is very easy to work with and the entire tuning process is easy to follow”, but the tune still seems to under perform… His money…

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/672626-First-time-at-the-Drag-Strip

IB4…

‘Tony/EPL isn’t focused on the 1/4 mile’

‘i’m most concerned about driveability’

‘this car isn’t built for the dragstrip’

‘I know it’s faster than when it was stock, I can feel it’

‘XXX car was there and it was running slow…everyone was that night’

etc.

just watched…you’re right. GUy can definitely change gears. EPL may want to hire him to drive all of their cars. Of course that would eliminate their number one excuse, which is that their customers can’t drive (that’s standard AMD and EPL…blame the customer’s driving)

Stage 1 tune, is there an EPL stage 2?

Yeah they use the CTS pulley with their software

More epl times…

Without clicking, are we looking at someone blaming their driving for shit results to insulate Tony?

Seems to be a reoccurring theme with these two companies (EPL and Solo)…numbers don’t lie though
