1/ Primetime has tried to help you. So there’s that. So don’t be such a dumb dickhead and quit burning bridges.

2/ Primetime has like 7,000 miles on his 4 year old B8 S4 (yes, 7,000) and 6,600 of those miles were run on RACE FUEL on the RACE FUEL tune…in other words he almost never runs the APR 93 tune, and certainly doesn’t log it or give much of a shit about the parameters.

So, it makes total sense that, from his perspective, the ignition timing angle parameters weren’t a big deal in the log you sent him. He is used to looking at his race+ tune that APR has developed for the guys who run better fuel than the OTS 100 tune.

Saxon/Saxoff everyone, and I mean EVERYONE on this forum told you so. Told you long ago. This is not a jap car with a super basic ECU that needs custom parameters for a complicated, one-off big turbo setup modlist…this is a German car with a highly sophisticated ECU, and some highly UNsophisticated modifications (pulley, exhaust) to account for, thus custom is bullshit. Good to see you finally figured out that dealing with a bullshit one-man show who doesn’t have time for Audis because he’s too busy making the slowest custom 911 tunes doesn’t make sense when you’re getting lapped by the OTS APR/GIAC guys. Just a shame that you didn’t listen to the only people who told you this inevitability before spending your money and time chasing Tony around.

Listen, no offense to APR or anyone, but if I had the security defeating tools, I could probably make pretty similar power with an ECU tune for a B8 S4.

Close boost bypass = 90% of the gains this or any tune makes on this car. The results are nearly indistinguishable from GIAC to APR for example. Lean out AFT a hair…ramp up the timing advance a bit (but not too much) and leave the throttle alone unless there’s a restriction and WHAMMO…I’m on the leaderboard. The B8 S4 is like a turbo car in that a couple of minor adjustments earn you 90% of the gains. The last 10? Sure you can seperate yourself by being great and getting that last 10% of upside, but to be honest, there’s only one tuner who has found that 10% on the B5, B6, B7 and he can’t be bothered with the B8…so the rest of them are probably all going to be pretty competitive at 90% or so. Unless they do something weird like run mega timing while running pig rich for protection like REVO does. That will work well in ice cold -3000 DA, but on a hot summer day the car is slower than it’s peers.

The fact that you just admitted the results were indistinguishable from APR off the shelf vs. EPL custom fanciness should probably be a wake up call.

Listen Saxoff, nobody here told you that you’d be terribly slow with EPL. We told you that EPL sucks and that custom is a bullshit way to sell tunes, but is not needed. Then you lost your fucking mind lecturing us all on the beits of custom tunes (on a car with no fucking mods beyond a pulley lol). We also told you that in the past, when EPL have had to tune something, they haven’t done very well, so why on earth would you fight the current just to be different? Saxon ran roughly 4 tenths slower with this tune… Gold Standard! Not to mention apr tune has been out since like sept 2010 and GIAC sometime in 2011… But yeah EPL is an innovator… Good thing this newb is correcting the other tuner minions… Don’t know what we’d do without him…

It’s always the by guys. If we bought a Porsche I guess we might care. But it’s not a Porsche it’s an audi and so far the only gold standard epl has with the audi guys is the standard of not buying epl tunes. They don’t outperform anyone.

In my opinion if your not getting a GIAC or APR tune for the by s4. Your an idiot. Some people in foreign countries excluded and so, even restrictions apply. But seriously epl has been tested and it’s not up to par.

The funny thing is that people think EPL is good because people tell them EPL is good.

EPL has NEVER had a fast car. I mean seriously never has put together a well sorted car. It’s always ‘look how great our dyno was! (on our in house dyno)’.

'look how great our 60-130 is! (as long as we don’t have to change gears, because our driving dynamics are absolute dogshit)

The tuner is just not that good at making a car accelerate, unless it’s in a single gear, in-gear pull. Bring a gear change or two into the mix and all of a sudden nobody who owns an EPL car knows how to drive, and that’s the reason the car is so abhorrent.

AMD had a 16 PSI TVS1900 supercharger setup on a B7 RS4. We already know a well sorted B7 RS4 will run 12.2 @ 112+ with tune , bolt ons, and pump gas. AMD, tuned by EPL + TVS1900? 12.0 @ 120.

They claimed 500 whp.

Weird…because the bolt on RS4s are making 365-370 whp, and running within 2 tenths

AMD fired EPL and got a new tuner, and the car went 11.3 @ 125. Just the tune. Seriously, just the shitty fucking EPL tune was all they changed.

The story is that EPL sucks at tuning. They know how to tune for their dyno. And that’s about it. We have a list of about 100 of the fastest B5 S4 cars here, and there are I believe 2 EPL cars on the entire list, and the fastest is like 18th and the customer had to tweak the hell out of the tune jsut to get 18th on the list. That’s sad.

It shoudl be noted that I’ve been saying this about EPL tuning since 2011 on audizine, and 2012 here on AR. I started this thread on AZ to show the B5 morons that the Tial ‘results’ are dogshit and that not one of the EPL tuned Tial dyno superstars is even remotely succesful where it counts. Sure enough, look at the results. Fastest car was self tuned by some guy. The EPL cars were embarrassed. (Justbrowsing was an account I made to post that thread lol)
