Finally found my perfect v10

Air suspension

But it doesn’t have air suspension ???

Thank much appreciated! Im just glad to be done. I can not wait to feel this car at sea level!

No I did all the mechanic work myself as well removed the panels and brought them to paint. I dont paint cars anymore, leave that to the experts. I always f up the clear somehow

The blueballs is required vacuum reservoir. There is also a small black on one on the drivers side as well.

How did you restore the chrome on your newer front grill? I want to do the same to the window chrome trim, as mine is cloudy and sad looking. Thanks for any tips. The car is drool worthy.

I actually purchased a new grill on ebay from some base a6 “oem” and swapped over the chrome. New oe grill with chrome was only $50

Try neverdull on the window trim

Some recent updates on the 6. Have not yet splurged on the JHM headers but am considering the TCU tune next. The car has been running perfectly still and not giving me any lip at all. So the shocks were going out so I replaced the shocks with the Bilstein B8s and the cheap HR s6 lowering springs. Did it for looks primarily but the ride is much less harsh vs OE, again old shocks were blown so difficult to compare. I would say the HR springs are about as rough still a little smoother than OE. I am running the half worn down 275/35/20s still and I have to take back my words, they do rub over DEEP dips now. No rubbing during normal driving. Hard turns or deep dips in the road they will rub. I am trying to determine what tire to run next. Potentially it will be a 265/30 or 265/35. I have to do some more measurements…

Installed some wheel studs

And splurged on the R8 oil cap and Porsche Coolant Cap

Next I had the opportunity to buy the Nappa Silver interior from an 08 S6 being parted out in Rancho Cordova. Below are a few pics of the interior before being swapped in. Doner interior was trashed to say the least but no tears or holes. Seat belts were cleaned with folex and I had the seats re-dyed. This cost me $400 for the refurbishment and the seats and door-cards w/ CF trim was $1g. Seat guy said seats should be good for 4 years ± depending on amount of driving. This is now my backup car so it sees about 2k a year and is garaged daily.

After pics:

In my opinion the white on black really sets off the car and makes it a bit more unique. Have been lovoing it so far. Also not hot like the black seats come summer.

Splurged on a new start button, $50, front floor mats $250 and the aluminum pedal set, $180. Passenger side CF trim $250 is on its way from GE and then I plan to close off the wallet again. Need to still do a trans flush and rear diff flush come to think of it, always something…

Oh, also had the door blades repainted $300

The upholstery guy did an amazing job. Looks like brand new seats.

Very inspiring thread thanks for sharing and in such a short period of time as well.
Good luck on future mods.

New leather makes the car feel new every time you get inside–especially if you get a color change. It’s an under-appreciated mod for a 14yr old car.

Cars beautiful!

Thanks yall. Freakin love this whip to death, a true disease. Recieved the beloved dash trim today from the dealer.

Finally got crack free carbon interior

I hope to have this feeling one day lol

What are BBK options for s6 owners, from the VAG family? i would think something from a bigger, heavier car can we swapped in, no? What was the rs6 caliper part number? i cannot find that anywhere.

I had to machine some ~8mm spacers to get the rs6 calipers to fit as well some longer bolts from a dodge RT. Else I believe you need new knuckles and maybe axles from the rs6 for oe fitment. Keep in mind these calipers are the same as the rs7, 63 series AMGs, camaro, ranges, and CYS-Vs with a different bracket. I dont have the PN offhand anymore. I know you can also get the brembo gt kit for the s6. Maybe some alcon setups, I have seen on some a8 D3s which are the same knuckle. The ceramic rotor setups will also all interchange. I’ve seen someone fit the ceramic calipers “19Zs” w/ steel rotors on a D3 with oe fitment.

So I caved and got a matching set of AP racing rear rotors 356x28mm up from the stock 330x22mm. They run a 45mm piston vs the stock 43mm piston. I also did test fit the s6 stock caliper on the RS6 brackets and they will fit and function the same and accominodate the larger width rotors, you just dont get the 45mm pistons and braking force. FYI, the RS6 brackets are not a direct fit to the knuckles, grinding was required. The C6 RS6 calipers / brackets do in fact run the stock s6 brake pad, same pad found on a lot of the larger audis with floating rears, I just sanded them down a little bit, re-used, and re-bedded. I am very pleased with the outcome and finishing off the BBKs all around. Few pics to match

Got around to installing the UK Analog TV tuner today. Plan to install the USB touchscreen overlay shortly. This was a super easy install and cost me about $70 including the module 4E0919146C, MOST splitter, and power / diag cable splitter harness. I removed the sat tuner for now because I plan to dedicate mount the android box there and launch dash command upon boot. Also fun being able to watch YouTube, movies, or the news

The 6’ farka video cable plugs simply into the RVC module. Activate VIM and TV tuner in VCDS

Fun little weekend mod to bring some functional modernization to the c6

I would love if you would detail this in a separate thread. I’m a video/audio/computer idiot, but would really like to make these updates. It’s the main area that the car falls short for me.

Pretty please?

Yes I will make a thread now

So in attempts to make the car perfect for my Ceramic Pro appointment on 9/14 I have painted the front bumper, hood, fenders, rear quarter panels, door blades, rear bumper, and trunk. What has not been painted is the doors and roof. Clear braw has been applied to all repainted areas with exception to the trunk and bumper, but did put bra behind rear tires on bumper on right and left sides.

Also had the headlights redone again and clear brawd. The f’ing car has to be perfect before ceramic. Black is near impossible. I had to get the fenders painted twice because we found a blemish under the clear coat after clear bra was applied. Repainted fenders, re clear braw fenders. Now dust under the fenders braw!! Back to get fenders brawd AGAIN for 5th time on Wednesday.

Headlight braw came out perfect and ready

Filler plate refuses to not take chips, drove 40 miles after painting it for the 2nd time. Still chips. Gonna live with it. No not happy

In front of rear tires. No the door is not chipped, just dirty.

Door blades and clear came out perfectly. Dirty pics

New OEM windshield put in today. $640 w/ tax + sticky tape for rain sensor +$175 for install. Good deal imo. Old windshield was chipped, pitted, afu. Ceramic goes on windshield so has to be perf

AMEX loves me

Lake,

Excellent update. The car is coming along nicely, and will turn out to be the cleanest s6 in the US lol. AMEX and Audi may be in partnership… the requirement for funds on these cars is never ending. Cheers and keep up the great work.
