GIAC Stage 2 with AWE Tuning Pulley

I think it’s a good result. Another tuner has a car in the 11s. That’s great for your platform, whether you guys like the vendor or not. I say good show. I really hate the way GIAC marketed this stuff and the way they had 1fastscammer/GIACdealer pretend to be a happy customer. Of course that looks professional compared to jfonz lol.

As for the fuel being leaded or unleaded, who cares. They’re probably catless. Further, it’s not pump gas so leaded or unleaded, they’re each as relevant to our daily lives either way. Not very.

With respect to the trap speed, your EVO probably weighed what…3100 lbs? You can get a smaller car moving through the first 1/8th mile with much less power, so that makes a lot of sense. Of course the same EVO that runs 11.8 @ 114.5 is probably gasping for air by the finish line, while that S4 is beginning to really get moving.
For a 3800-4100 lbs AWD car, 11.8 @ 118 is good. Great would be 11.5 to 11.6 @ 118. So this result is good. I reckon launch control wasn’t so awesome when they ran the car. Probably left a tenth or two on the table.

I’m guessing…
1.78 60’ and 5.06 330’ times

Very good and informative post. With respect to ET, I was think 11.5-11.6 was doable as well.

Ya I hit him up months ago, glad he’s ready. I’m going to see if I can set it up with my other race so we can get some results for 2 new tunes.

You still wouldn’t want to run leaded fuel with the oxygen sensors we run. BTW, I dunno about 99% of te runs on those three fuels prime, many of the high octane runs were done on Profuels Mark II, which is 110 R+M unleaded. Highly oxygenated with MtBE, or so it smells to me. It’s the opposite philosophy of the Shell URT advanced, which is not oxygenated.

I’d also say that trap seems right, the two runs I did in Bears car were both 11.8@118, it shifted into 5th about 100-150’ before the traps. But the 60’ was 1.71 for those runs.

Ummm what?

Maybe they meant their stg 1 6mt software runs better than their stage 2 6mt file?

And FB trashtalking/hints lol? Why nothing on AZ or here?

That’s weird.

The best companies are not running round mentioning their competition. They’re too busy doing their business.

And 1/4 mile and 60-130 databases have shown the opposite (pump and racegas)

I won’t even go into vag com logs.

Lol exactly…I forgot he act us was a straight inaccurate claim.

found this post just now…

Can’t wait to see some real world comparisons with an APR stage 2 car.

Agreed! You still thinking of heading to TMP? I still plan to go just not sure when… If you want to drive down my way, I’ll be glad to make some passes with you at Thompson… TMP is probably closer for you though and I am sure Bear will oblige if I can’t make it that weekend…

If anyone in the greater Cleveland area gets one please look me up for some passes… I also have a pulley tool for removing the stock one so if anyone needs it just let me know…

I will definitely give it a shot. Just waiting for the weather to clear and to decide which wheels would be a better option for the 1/4.

Love this:

93 whp stock
93 whp stage I
100 whp stage II…

wut?

what wheels/tires options do you have?

Help me out here…

APR picks up what…20 whp or so with the pulley (all else equal)
AWE/GIAC picks up about the same with the dyno above

So, what the fuck is itGuy/Jfonzarelli smoking claiming that they’re picking up 90 whp with a fucking pulley???

winter tires in 245 on factory 18s or 275 PSS on Alufelgen 19s or Dunlop 265 on Rotiform 20s

I’d run with the 275s and the 19s.

the problem is the PSS sucks for the strip. Bring them both and we’ll do some testing (although 245 is pretty skinny)

this was interesting. AWE marketing APR style with calculated crank hp numbers. I don’t get the point of that. I guess when you’re fighting Eurotuners you need to. Seems lame though. Wish the euro guys would just report wheel hp.

They posted whp numbers as well on their website. 8)

I run the skinny 245’s and do ok :stuck_out_tongue:

Salmon, If you have the room to haul them I would test the 18’s vs 19’s… 20’s=will be worst… Not sure you want to cross the border with a car full of wheels and tires though…
