I thought he was faster than his usual routine on both the chip and the putt on 18. And there went the 19-under record. The putt was awful. Just like Tom Watson on the 72nd at Turnberry in 2009.
I see you dont understand golf again. Let me help.
Chipping does not = short game. Chipping is one component of the short game. Dave Pelz wrote a book called ‘short game bible’. It’s not 1 chapter on chipping. It weighs 2.2 lbs and is 450 pages long. Wedge play (50-100), bunker play, chipping, lag putting, short putting…these are all components of the short game. Spieth’s putting is best in the world. His short wedge game was great (50-100 yards). His bunker play wasn’t a factor but its good.
But his chipping was spotty. He paintbrushed a couple of shots at key moments, one of which turned into a double bogey on 17 saturday. One of which cost him a shot, and almost 2, on the fifth hole yesterday. He made another mediocre shot on 18 that cost him a bogey, and again on 15 which he saved with a tough putt. Same on 16, which he saved with a putt. Same on 8 which he saved with a putt. Same on 2 where he left a shot on the table. Ignoring the holes where his putting saved his poor chip shots (8, 15, 16), his chipping actually cost him 3 full shots. Again…did you not watch?
On ball striking, I said “I’ve never seen someone with such bad ball striking spurts score this well”. Spurts. As in he rolls along well for a couple of holes, then sprays the driver 50 yards off the centre of the fairway and struggles his face off. You’re microquoting and framing…I guess to salvage some sort of mental victory? Pretty funny.
I’m discussing his golf. You’re discussing it as a 20 capper who watches a leaderboard on his phone. Maybe you’re still smarting from getting owned a few pages ago in this thread where again you acted like a 20 who has no concept of what’s really going on with this game. I’m not sure…but pay attention and you’ll be better off.

No, you’re discussing individual aspects of his golf, rather than focusing on the results, which are the only things that actually matter. To wit:
I’m sure you could pick apart Trevino’s game as well - criticizing everything from his swing to his never-ending chatting while on the course, but his 6 majors and 29 wins (plus 29 more on the senior tour) speak louder than any stat or group of stats.
Regarding what you “own”:
You have insulted me, belittled me, mis-quoted me, provoked me, and generally acted like a pompous know-it-all prick, but all that just adds up to being you being a trolling jerk and nothing more. You’re actually like an elementary school playground bully, and just as pathetic.

I think you just aren’t that good at reading. I was discussing how he was playing, not whether or not he’d win. As I said, I named him as my masters champion pick a while ago. You don’t have to sell me on Jordan Spieth.
I was discussing how he was hitting it etc. because I watched the golf. You were discussing sports cliches and reading leaderboards on your iphone.

zcd …lots of swearing, shouting, all caps, bold. Are you ok? Maybe you should step away from the keyboard?
you’re often feeling ‘attacked’ or ‘belittled’…maybe seek some help with that persecution complex. You don’t seem to be able to cope very well. These are pretty dramatic words for a golf thread on a car forum. I think there’s something wrong with your ability to understand context.
This discussion started off with me making a comment that spieth’s 64 looked pretty sloppy, and that he had loads of loose shots, and you’ve tried to cliche your way into an argument. Seriously, go read the start of this conversation.
Similar to the Bay Hill discussion where you did the same thing…picked an argument out of thin air. Then got owned as usual. Same in the thread where you were being an Audi fanboy and anti BMW people. In fact I don’t know why you quoted that…I had pointed out your foolish statement that a BMW 335 owner was worried about being embarrassed by an Audi S4. Reality couldn’t be further from the truth, but your concept of reality is so distorted that you don’t see it, and turn it into a big thing.
…same when you used to whine about your Stasis tune. It’s a broken record man.
Here’s the full BMW conversation. It’s clear you’re very insecure. Probably why you are projecting insecurity on the 335 owner.
Funny, ‘it happened exactly like I described’. In your head. You’re acting like you can read the guy’s mind. Maybe he wanted to run against a different car that didn’t have a loud exhaust? Maybe he was tired of running the same car? Maybe he was waiting for his buddy behind you? Nope, not in your head. In your head, he’s an insecure pussy who is ‘scared’ of a mid 12s Audi lolol. Maybe because if you lost you would do that? I can’t think of ever seeing someone ‘scared’ of a barely faster car at the strip, and I’ve been there 15 times and watched thousands of passes.
after more ranting by zcd, he disappeared…then necrobumped that thread a year later with the quote he posted above lol.
