Packs down into this:
I prefer 32gb class 10 sd cards, allows you to video in the higher fps( makes for awesome slowmo) just got a few on BF from best buy for $18!!
Also external mic from radioshack with go pro’s convertor works awesome for “reducing wind noise”
I just noticed earlier today that there’s no hole in the gopro 2’s case for the external mike. Where’d you order the skeleton case from?
what are you doing for slo-mo?
I was going to film in 720-120 and then use Twixtor or something to smoothe it.
Any samples you’ve made?

That store is in Mississauga.
And I’d never heard of twixtor which also looks likes fun. Keep the ideas coming!

FYI that ‘store’ is a drop ship business run from a basement. It’s not a retail store. Just online.
I’ve been obsessing over the DJI phantom for about 2 weeks now. I stayed up till 2 am 2 saturdays ago watching youtube videos.
I can’t decide if it’s something you use 5 times then abandon…or something that becomes an obsession and turns you into an RC nerd.
Fist I thought, “oh cool look that little helicopter can make your go pro fly around 10 feet off the ground” and that quickly turned to whoa WHAT THE FUCK…IT"S 2000 FEET UP ABOVE THE CLOUDS!!!"
Whoa shit, that’s awesome! How do you control it when it’s not visible, i.e., above the clouds?
just cross your fingers?
it’s pretty crazy.
I believe there’s a mode that if you engage it, it will return to where it started the flight from (GPS).
I was thinking…what could you do with this thing? Make some cool videos of your kid’s soccer game…film the city from above…get aerial HD video and 12 MP photos of your property/neighbourhood…film some cool landmarks and stuff.
Here’s a neat idea…
A remote tilt control for the Gopro mount would be cool.

you mean a gimbal? I think they’re a few hundred bucks.
rotorpixel is one used in the surfing video I believe
ZenMuse is the most popular. About $400 and up

It’s like your own personal drone. I want.
yeah, it’s very wantable. I showed a friend and he wants one, so maybe we’ll split one for now to decide if it’s a fad or a keep, then get our own.
$500 for the DJI phantom, and I’ve found no way to get a deal on them.
$400 for the high end Zenmuse gimbal if you want it
Other options include a screen so you can see what your camera is fiming while flying, or goggles that you wear that show what the camera sees. These are each around $500 (you’d only really need one).
It can be $2000 in a hurry but a basic DJI Phantom would be fun as hell for a while until you’re bored.
Wow. Just wow. $500 is a steal for that. This deserves a thread of its own.
The guy going through the amusement park has some cohones…or likely a lot of disposable income.
I think it’s pretty easy to bump into stuff and not crash. Like when he goes through the ferris wheel you mean?
That’s probably an 8 foot wide gap and the thing is about 10 inches wide.
In the snow I made a few videos and used slow mo to see the tires gripping or slipping.
Also I got the suction cup off a few times, even on a clean well mounted surface.
R8 V10+ will do it every time!
Most of my videos were shot with a gopro
Where is the slow motion?
It’s pretty hard to judge those gaps, from way down or through the wide angle lens.
Googled for phantom crashes, fun to watch.
This guys an idiot, but wow, you’re right, it shows how durable it is. Apparently prop guards are available?
