Has PES finally bit the dust? Rumour has it...

You’ve brought up a good point. It seemed most every PES customer ended up getting a different tune anyways. I think they’ve hurt themselves even more by saying their new tuning would provide 500+ when most everyone knows that’s a fabricated lie. It’s more bad marketing. They’ve got a bad rap for both their parts and tuning. With the new whipple supercharger they should’ve had someone else tune it. Bring in a company that is reputable.

I would take a PES kit with the whipple and a reputable company tune over say the disaster that is the gmg or amd or not sure the other names.

Well maybe we’ll get Tony’s side of the story, as it appears he has just joined AR.

Would be interesting to hear. For the 3.0, their was a local euro company that offered to do custom tunes on the pes kits, but they advised against it as they weren’t comfortable with the quality of the kits.

This just sent out by local tuning shop…fk me what a claim

480kw and 525kw???

Are they insane? That’s 640hp and 700 hp

It’s South Africa. They don’t seem to have the Internet down there yet to verify such preposterous claims.

No, contrary to popular believe we do have the Internet down here it’s just that the local crowd will swallow all the BS that’s being dished up to them. I have seen the advert from the local tuning shop a few months back already and has been waiting to see what come of it and this is the figures they claim for the RS4 with the PES charger.

“The standard manufacturer specs are 309kW and 430Nm once we do the RGM-S4 Supercharged conversion you could expect in the region of 480kW (644hp) and approximately 800Nm”

All that for a around $19K.

Same with the guy that claims 700hp and fasted RS4 in Africa for the APR charger that was installed by the local APR agent. Don’t have a problem if it is true, just so arrogant to announce and claim it outright on a public forum. Sad thing is the customer actually believes the 700hp the shop feeds him and they will keep on doing it as long as he keep on spending money with them. Not sure what they charge for the kit but I will be surprised if it’s anything less than $25K.

Good post, and welcome to the site RS4fan

We see this in lots of the markets around the world. The American market is probably the toughest, where people demand MUCH more for their dollar. Perhaps a history of modifying cars being so much a part of the culture means it’s a bit more mature as an industry.

I get in arguments all the time with the guys in the UK when I suggest they should demand a higher standard of proof from the tuners. They all freak the fuck out and scream ‘I’M NOT TAKING MY CAR TO THE DRAGSTRIP THANK YOU VERY MUCH!’. Great. I didn’t ask you to. I asked the tuners to. The best tuner over there by far is MRC, and they’re already using the dragstrip to benchmark performance and seperate themselves from the rest. However the UK market guys seem to be oblivious to the benefits of this. Still early.

I imagine South Africa is similar…maybe a little farther behind.

For perspective, when that yellow TVSr1320 car kept running high 12s at the strip, nobody seemed to bother. We noticed and said ‘WTF!’. Altitude or not the results were terrible. Turned out APR knew that already because they hired JHM’s tuner to write a new calibration for the RS4 kit and teach their engineers what they were doing poorly. As a result, the kit was night and day different with the new tune.

The 1740 kit is a great example…that guy is going on about 700 hp etc…and then squeaked out an 11.9. Sure it could be at altitude, but it’s fall in South Africa and conditions are decent. Still, nobody noticed that this was a mediocre result…aand NOTHING like a 700 hp car.

Hi Everyone,
I was alerted to this post and I wanted to come on and make a statement to set the record straight. I will not be responding after this.

PES is NOT out of business…. nor going out of business

We have been in the process of a big move as well as staff changes that will enhance our ability to create new and unique products. We have invested in new laser scanning and rapid prototype equipment. We have also added a new CAD Design Engineer, and master Audi tech to our staff. Admittedly we’ve struggled logistically during this move and as part of this struggle includes our lines of communication. Yes we are a bit behind on deliveries due to our move and supply chain from Eaton, however our clients have also been kept informed of the situation and most have been are very understanding. There is only one client that has laid claims on these forum threads and through ebay has requested a refund. We were in fact ready to ship to him however having seen him go public with his opinions (mostly non-factual) we feel it’s best resolved by supplying him a full immediate refund. On a positive note this was the last of the M90 kits sold via an end of line sale, there were many who were disappointed to have missed out on this sale so this kit has already been snapped up by one very happy client!

For all our clients and anyone wishing to make enquiries we have our phone lines back up and running at 888-664-9951. Or you can contact us via email to tony@pes-tuning.com, info@pes-tuning.com, or the contact form on our website at www.pes-tuning.com, or via snail mail to our new address at 4942 national St., Philadelphia, PA 19135

I will finish by stating it’s unfortunate that the clients like Marzz and others that post their extremely positive comments are ignored and/or put down, yet speculation and heresy are expanded to false statements about the company going out of business.

We will continue to expand our product line and grow as we have since 1997.

Thanks to all of our clients that have supported the products throughout our 17 year history

Tony, Sounds like a lot of excuses to me not that I have any skin in the game… Planning things goes along way… When will Marzz hit the strip to prove the gains of the kit? Also, you mentioned Eaton, you are NOT buying directly from them are you? Hint I know the answer already as my wife works for Eaton… Oh and welcome to AR, doubt you’ll stay long! LOL

What a shitty first post. You come on here to say how great your company is without even addressing your apparent hosing of your ebay customers.

Lucky for this forum, you won’t be able to have the site administrator ban the members here who call you out.

Thanks, been lurking around for quite a while.

Exactly my point. According to my knowledge the are no other charged RS4’s locally. Perhaps a few with some DP’s, after market air filters, exhaust systems etc. but nothing close to the level of the APR car and hence everyone stand in absolute awe whenever these one off wonders get onto a forum and start making claims. And we are all just to eager to eat all the BS in whatever form or shape it’s dished up because most of us can’t afford a charger. The pure thought of an APR charged RS4 is just insane and hence justify every claim being made no questions asked. Don’t get me wrong, that APR kit is a quality piece of kit but the freaking price and hysteria around it locally is mind blowing.

Hi Tony,

Can you show us how you somehow still convince people to buy Eaton M90 kits? I think your skills rival those of the best hypnotists on earth.

Also, can you finally address how the Eaton M90 can make 525-530 hp, when engineers from your supercharger provider have confirmed that this is impossible?

I once engaged you on this topic on A5oc before you paid the site owner to get the ability to ban me, and your response was a non-response.

When I asked you to provide performance proof that your RS4 MP90 kit was achieving these fairytale power numbers, you posted the following:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrzMB4N4PHs

12.65 @ 110 MPH in the 1/4 mile

That’s a B7 RS4, driven well, in EXCELLENT conditions for making power. He had catless downpipes, exhaust, lw wheels, lw seats, and your PES supercharger kit. That was his best time (and to date is the best time achieved by a PES M90 RS4 at a certified track).

Funny thing about that is…here’s my RS4 (camera car). Similar DA (worse actually), well driven, and only mods are catted downpipes and exhaust.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4SGcn2MRMw

12.51 @ 110 MPH in the 1/4 mile !!!

Want an even bigger laugh? That other car that whipped my ass? That’s Mistro from this forum. It also had the same exhaust as me, and lw parts + JHM tune.

Basically the only difference between his car and kryptonik is that Mistro had a $650 JHM tune…and Krytponik had a $13,000 PES SUPERCHARGER.

Mistro went 12.21 @ 113.2 that day…4 tenths and 3 MPH faster than Krytponi8k’s supercharged car. He dyno’d 365 whp or about 450 hp. Not 525. Yet he whipped the shit out of your supposed 525 hp car.

So, if you are confused about why people like myself mention PES and your history as poster boys for why nobody should trust the dyno, you shouldn’t be. You should find it pretty obvious.

Derp. Congrats on not setting any record straight.

Hi Tony,

You have seen the claims made by the local PES agent in South Africa in this thread.

Are those claims valid and can you confirm whether they have actually obtain any charger from you that was fitted and tested by them on a local car to allow them to publish the claims the are making or are they just going on your claims and figures?

Would really appreciate your response.

Where Tony can’t control content (by paying the site owner) he won’t engage.

All you have to know about this guy is that he’s weaseling around desperately trying to find a new shop after getting booted out of his old one.

WHO THE FUCK has their phone disconnected? Delinquent bankrupts, that’s who. When you move your office, you arrange to have your phone moved and you arrange to have any interruption explained with a message. The phone company doesn’t disconnect your number. They do that when you don’t pay them.

Where’s the new address Tony? What’s the new phone number? Are there notices of eviction at your old location plastered all over the windows that you want to explain?

FYI your phone lines are not up and running. Still disconnected. TSK TSK. I guess Verizon fucked you.

Is this the new facility? Siiiick.

That’s the new global headquarters where laser machines will be used.

Not to mention calling your customers from a BLOCKED number. Ya that really screams of quality customer service . . .
