Really interesting thread for me purely because I am considering going the charged route.
I can pick up a 2nd hand PES G4 locally for around $2000. This is the description of what you will get for your money.
PES G4 supercharger with 4psi and 7psi pulleys, includes stage 2 intercooler (without piping). The snout has recently been rebuilt and I have a full rotor pack rebuild kit. You will need injectors, idler pulley and serpentine belt to install, all can be sourced locally.
However, could turn out to be a real can of worms and the old saying, where there is smoke there is normally a fire comes to mind so I figure I will rather put my hard earn money towards a new charger and I doubt that it would be PES. Just to many stories etc. flying around. Too many other quality kits out there as mentioned JHM, APR and TTS etc. However, if I have to pull the trigger right now I would probably go JHM Stage 2 if possible and get it over with. Sure the other kits mentioned are all good companies with excellent hardware etc. but for me the value for money and the research that comes with the JHM is probably what swings my $$$ in their favor at this stage. Just can’t justify spending close to double on anyone of the other kits.
Rs4fan I’ve seen full pes kits go for 1000$ frankly they aren’t worth that. Most people get the kit thinking they see a great opportunity for such a cheep price. There’s a reason it’s so cheep. It’s because it’s not with more. The thought is… well if the kit is this cheap I can’t loose. But just think, the seller realizes that the kit sucks so bad he is willing to sell it for dirt cheep, just to be rid of it.
Like I said in our previous conversation, the past has shown that after we are comfortable with the safety and performance of our supercharger kits we allow people to purchase the kit before the official release. I also stated that we would know more as we get closer. I cannot promise you anything at this point in time.
I went 12.3 (m90) and 11.7 (112) then 11.4 (tts) I love performance data, well I enjoy obtaining the results especially good ones. Tts car ran 6.3 100-200 in really top conditions though think it was -1/2 degrees
sometimes software isn’t refined by tuners before releasing the product to the public.
Roger, an S5 owner in North America, complains that his TTS kit had partial throttle acceleration problems with his car, and no it’s not surging from boost.
It’s one thing to set up a tune for mapping an engine with a conservative tune for all conditions or heat soak. It’s another to dial in a tune on newer Ecu’s that can constantly change parameters based on ambient air temps. and to ensure that dailly driving isn’t effected too much, if at all. a comprehensive tune.
Is Roger the only TTS S5 to have partial throttle problems? does anyone know if it’s been resolved?
Haven’t heard anything about any the s5 other than horsepower who owns tts and was also fighting the car a bi5, and Roger who I thought was a tts distributor. Or was that someone else?
There is an rs4 over here with the tts kit. Not sure where he went.
Mrc likes to tune cars on their dyno . For whatever reason they fought really hard for that. Maybe that’s the issue with Roger’s car.
Sorry for the non-sequitur. I was trying to point out to the TTRS4 member that the TTS kit for the S5 may have a little bit of a software problem with daily driving conditions, as opposed to just modifying the WOT portion of tuning the vehicle’s ECU. We’d all agree it’s not just hardware, but the software as well to get the most from, in this case, a supercharger kit.
Buddy…please reply to this. There are people on other forums who think PES is fine because a PES sales rep is running around saying you were the only one who had a problem and that you have your money back from TONY@PES so all is well

If you DON’T have your money back, please also clarify. There are people sitting on the decision whether or not to write cheques and give credit card info to PES for $10,000-15,000 on these fucking kits, and if they are being lied to and PES is indeed bust, I think you owe it to them to clarify
I got fucking CRUCIFIED on rs246 and they locked the thread after Spinner the tale spinner said you had your money back and were happy.

Either way, forum and vendor are in bed together…hence, no impartiality.
That’ll really shake you into perspective. My only PES experience was I once spoke with a disgruntled pes customer. His claim was PES has no inventory of parts ever. He said PES buys parts after people pay for them. To me this seems to make a logical conclusion for how PES works. Why would PES take money from someone on EBay and not be able to ship for months.
PES has a terrible reputation and history. Now after seeing their new building, you can’t help but loose faith in where they are going. If PES is doing to well and they are ready to sell kits perhaps they should show a picture of their ready to be shipped kits next to a daily newspaper. Maybe it’s time to make a PES warning thread and include all the failure upset customers and lies they have told and apparently keep telling.
Don’t think pes are sponsors on 246. Phil the only site admin is a car nut currently owning an r35 and a tuned b5 rs4. I fully expect him to do his homework before just approving a sponsorship request
But where do you draw the line? It’s obvious that Audi Superchargers UK is advertising on behalf of PES. Is spinner a regular, standard member and advertising for free?

So PES’ old location was vacant 2 months ago…and their new location (lol) is an abandoned garage that Tony is using for mail.
So…where the fuck is PES??? I mean if this is a great company with great products coming along including lasers (lol), where the fuck are these motherfuckers?
let me paint the picture to show you how absurd this is.
You’re moving your business. If you’re a normal (i.e. real) business, you prep this well in advance. You pre-arrange forwarding mail. You arrange the phone move. You ensure all of your communications are up and running long before you move. You then prep the new location and ensure business as usual happens once you change addresses.
How does PES claim they did it?
They didn’t tell anyone…literally nobody. They didn’t get their phone lines moved, and in fact have lost their old numbers. They didn’t get the new place ready…it’s still an abandoned old shit hole. They didn’t arrange for staff to move (everyone is gone) and they have basically not done anything a normal (i.e. real) business would do.
So, either PES has fired all of its staff (other than Spinner who is a 100% commission sales rep thus $0 overhead) and is doing the worst business location move of all time…a mere 10 miles across town but completely fukt every step of the way…or PES is dead.
Seems to me that it’s pretty clear. They got booted from Camars drive months ago…scrambled…couldn’t move their phone lines…didn’t change their web page (probably haven’t paid that guy either)…and are now fukt and scrambling to give answers.
