Funny you should ask… just came on here to post an update…

So a few things

Went on an audi cruise this weekend, so the car was getting used hard.

Had a fresh tank for Sat with the new button… everything was working… bottle heated up, purge button and solenoid were working… next issue arises!

The system seems to be firing when armed and past 4k RPM, but regardless of WOT.

So i found myself have to disarm the system until right before i was ready to use it.

Any thoughts on this? Is there a way to reset the nitrous controller?

Regardless, i ended up going through a full bottle on Saturday… made some great pulls… when its on it on hard. Makes a huge difference!

Next issue…

Sunday morning i opened the bottle and heard a leaking sound… narrowed it down to the nitrous filter.

Just spend the last hour messing around with various connections going into it and making sure everything was tight… and the conclusion is that there is a leak in the actual housing of the filter… end of the housing on the OUT side… right at the seam of the cylinder.

So, yes, this is the second part from this kit to fail within the first 3 tanks for N20…

I want to order a replacement filter and want to verify the size of the fittings.

This seemed to be hardware issue. And the part looks identical to the one from NX… not sure if thats where JHM sourced.

Either way, not their fault.

Just sucks.

Still need to know if i need the 4 or the 6 size wise…

The kit? Yes

Oh and i found out the 4AN is the size that JHM uses.

Also, i talked to another B7 owner with the N20 kit today… their filter also failed within the first couple of months of installing the system.

Its a $68 part, so im not trying to make a big deal out of this, but somebody at JHM should take note that the filters they are including are shit…

Sorry I just saw this now. Yes it’s a 4 an. Did you get the same filter that already came with the kit. What I did was purge the kit without any filters then install the filter. I never had a issue with my filter take a picture of yours maybe they are getting different filters now. Back in the day this is how the nos company would tell you how to install the filter. Because particles can build up in the lines during install and fitment.

I don’t know what made your filter fail but if it was clogged debris then that’s at least helpful to know they didn’t make it into the motor.

This is the one i ordered as a replacement.

Why would you purge the system without a filter? Isnt the whole point to keep possible contaminants from the nitrous entering the system?

On mine its always hooked up and nitrous is being directed through it when ever the system is pulling nitrous from the bottle.

Sorry it’s a free air purge. You get lots of stuff in the lines that you wouldn’t think after getting every thing assembled and the bottle filled. Chances are something got the line then clogged the filter. Did you cut open the filter. Some fill stations have nasty debris in there tanks.

New filter installed… system is working again, no leaks

Have a fresh tank in and my goal is to get to a dyno and the track soon to get some numbers from her…

Will update accordingly

Ditch the 60-130 just get some cool 20-80 stuff. No need to almost double the speed limit for a good power video. Great to hear it’s up and running.

Wish i had good news and track times to update this thread with… unfortunately i do not.

Went for a spirited drive on Sunday with a few other enthusiasts… about an hour in the car gave out at the end of a pull on a nice straight section of road.

Oil and fluids everywhere. Had it towed directly to RSWorx. Initial diagnosis is that something shot out the front of the block, and the engine is toast.

WOrking on researching options here… if anybody has any brilliant ideas, please feel free to post them!
