It just doesn't work: Tesla

Sorry… You just went from ‘biggest automaker in the world’ and backtracked when you got bitch slapped and laughed at…and now you’re saying biggest market cap?

What the fuck would that even prove? (other than the insatiable thirst stock market participants have for impossibly shit valuations)

You haven’t done your homework. Fuck off and catch up.

why do I wait in the garage for my car to cool down??? I know this sounds strange but it is a CAR things inevitably brake or need service. Does it not have some kind of brakes, axles, bearings, control arms, etc… they do need to be serviced. It only takes 10 min to pump fuel into a car in NJ with their silly full serve only law. It is less than 10 minutes easily. In my S4 I have driven 1000 miles in day, try that with your silly tesla, it will break down or run out of juice no where near a fast charging station. Boutique cars like the tesla are just that maybe pretty and novel, and maybe the latest thing for the hipster but in the real world it doesn’t work. I liked the honda FCX clarity since it worked like a car for people that drive cars.

Well looks like the ‘affordable’ model X will only cost you a clean 132k at launch

Good to see the range increasing and the cost diving. Soccer moms and real house wives of Thousand Oaks rejoice!

Now time for west to tell us why the model X is better than the Porsche Mecan Turbo S…oh wait…

tesla fanboyism < porsche fanboyism

I’m worried the comparison will make west’s head explode :o

Actually, that one is simple… It’s because Porshce uses an Audi DSG in the Macan S and Turbo… ;D

We agree on 1 thing. I liked that car so much I bought a Honda Insight 5 door - a nice 2600 pound car with more interior room than a Macan and can hold an 8’ surfboard. Obviously there is no hydrogen infrastructure in the United States and the FCX was way more expensive than they sold it for, which was still 2x the cost of an Insight. Thankfully for Tesla, there is electricity in every man made structure.

I’m actually glad that all of this is being stored in the Internet archive and waybackmachine, because you guys are going to sound like idiots 50 years from now. The notion that spending $10 a day on carbon fuel for a powerplant you have to drive around with is pretty antiquated. Like 1900’s antiquated.

Regarding the Model X, it’s still going to cost you $80k to get into one with modest options net of incentives. It will be interesting to see what this does to Macan, Cayenne, X5, Q7, Escalade sales. I know a lot of people who bought the Macan because they got tired of waiting for Model X, and as first time Porsche customers they’re really liking the brand.

I still don’t understand the logic of someone who gets irate that a person who pays over $7500 a month in federal income taxes alone would get a 1 time rebate of $7500 on a car purchase. How dare they get their tax money back? For the people who “don’t add good”, that’s only a $300k a year income. That’s first base in California.

But I thought we only had to wait 10 years to see Tesla take over the world? It’s been a week or so, and you’ve increased your estimate five-fold lol.

This is great…now we will all be idiots in 50years, lulz

[quote=“westwest888,post:102,topic:7706”]
ROFLMAO… Source for $300K being 1st base in CA as you call it… $300K is top 5% even in your homeland of CA, which by the way is NOT even the top paying state on average…

You’re such a fucking troll and it’s getting really old seeing you spew a bunch of bullshit with no factual support… Do us all a favor go buy yourself a Tesla and be gone from here…

Totally agree primetime, whatever value is brought from audi roll cage installations and 8 thousand dollar bbk’s is completely negated by hall of fame level trolling in threads like this. How on earth the karma train doesn’t lead off to ban land is beyond me.

^^ ya he certainly has his supporters lurking around on here. every time i think he’s finally gone off the rails, some members reel him back in.

I give him a karma bump every now and then when he posts a good video or an insightful comment. Then it’s like he forgets to take his pills and it all goes to shit.

I have as well, but lately it’s been back to AZ-type west haha

Agreed… I even originally put before erasing a comment about how he can be helpful especially with the road race guys but goes off the deep end more often than not… It’s just getting old and it’s one thing to have an opinion but when you try to twist facts or make them up that’s just not good… Then when proven wrong he ignores it and posts something totally different…

lol. I do my fair share of head scratching sometimes too.

To be honest, I think Tesla (and Space X) are pretty interesting/cool companies. I’d like to see them succeed (especially the latter - since I want to see more space exploration).

But still, ease off on the kool aid ;D

It’s starting to turn almost into fanaticism.

In 50 years I’ll be 87. If I’m still here I’ll be lucky to know my name.

West - you have many lofty projections for Tesla, it’s quite comical. I personally don’t think they will exist by 2030. Elon Musk alone is a risk, sure he’s young but he isn’t guaranteed tomorrow.

Question: do you really think a median household considers buying 100k car to save 25k in fuel and 10k in maintenance over 10years?! Fuck the fuel and maintenance, a majority of humans don’t look past tomorrow.

Thanks for the entertainment West but you sir are confused.

your car came with teh same battery as his. In order to be a road race superstar, you bought a $1000 battery to save some sprung weight (in otherwords, you’re a moron) while rocking some ugly, cheap, heavy cast wheels.

what did you do with your old battery? Turn it into a tree? Oh, it’s in the landfill. Nice one.

So you are actually worse than everyone else’s Audi, battery wise.

You’re so myopic it’s laughable. I can’t fucking wait till you’re out of your 9 AR lives.

Looks like the new Model X will be $142,000 for the one that accelerates well. That’s after Tesla not paying tax…and after receiving government grants.

Incredibly stupid.

The BMW 330e looks interesting. It’s a 1.5L Mini Cooper turbo motor driving the front wheels, with an 8kw battery pack in the trunk to drive the rear wheels. That will let them torque vector, if programmed to be a sports car (it’s not).

Oddly I don’t trust BMW to actually have a replacement battery pack in 8 years. Tesla might charge them a lot of money for supplying it, or it might be an incompatible technology altogether. BMW is currently having problems with the starter batteries in their turbo V8 cars dying every 8 months, so they’re a mess when it comes to electronics.

The biggest risk to us is VW Group, MB and BMW get on the wrong side of history. Like Blackberry or Microsoft. It’ll be quite a fall.

I don’t think I should be banned from the Internet because I see a different future than some of you have considered. Lol. We can still tune our 10 year old Audis and waste gasoline like it’s 1999. I love spending $150 a day on gas at the track.

you should be banned because you do nothing but act obtusely to fit your own narcissistic view of your achievements. Your times sucked because your driving sucked. As a ‘benchmark’ you were completely crap.

If you don’t understand the impact of density altitude on an 80 degree California night on performance, you should stick to the Porsche forums where the 50+ crew like to talk about driving gloves rather than performance.

If you really think the 911 is the only German car to run in the 11s, that’s fine. But that is only because you’re completely obtuse and unable to take in information that may slap you in the face with the cold hard reality - which is that you suck at racing. You’re a shit driver. Your mom was wrong…you’re not a golden boy. You’re just another hamfisted fuck who sucks at changing gears. Nobody else is cheating. Nobody else is lying. You just suck at this. I watched your videos. We all did. Your shit times were your fault, because you’re terrible at it. Got it? Just because you suck, doesn’t mean a fucking thing for the rest of us. Go practice and get better…but don’t impart your version of acceleration onto the rest of us.

Once you come to grips with that, your reference point on performance will change. You won’t anchor everything based on what you saw with your own eyes on your own timeslip (very engineerish to only believe your own flawed experiment). You will realise what is reality, and you will be welcome to discuss it. But pretending or creating a new version of ‘reality’ to either make your shitty Tesla argument work…or to shield yourself from the scathing reality that you’re a shit driver is not welcome here, and your karma, repeatedly, reflects that.
