JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

Yeah, and I ran like crap on Sunday. Couldn’t get better than 8.4 1/8th (although the car easily had 8.3 with a good launch). In comparison, for my 12.53, I had an 8.09 1/8th. Something’s up with mine as well but I don’t have the time to deal with it right now.

It looks like I will be trying out this tomorrow:

^ my weekend project as well

^ my weekend project as well

I followed the DIY and used a die grinder to open up the housing. Now the intake manifold flap moves smoothly and free. I can feel a big difference while driving.

Now to the fun game of the night. Lets play the game of guessing what I broke tonight. Here is your clue:

I will update with pictures later next week.

Thanks. An axle breaking would be too easy and I wish it was that.

By the way, they had prepped the track so well that I was sticking when I walked around the car. I almost walked out of my shoes.

drive shaft or. Didn’t you get some different kind of rear end that had issues. If so that.

Since we are on the subject…I went 13.4@99MPH in my truck tonight with tune only.

1.81 60’…lol, Launching this 6,000lb truck is fucking violent. DA was retarded…-1300ft or so!

I broke two limited slip rear diff units. It would have really given it away if I told you guys that I was pouring gear oil on the track after that launch. When I got out and looked I saw that the front flange of the rear differential was pulled out. Once I got time to look closer into this I found that the front pinion gear bearing was destroyed along with part of the case on the inside. The ring and pinion gears were damaged from the pinion gear moving around but the Wavetrac LSD unit was fine. So it is time for a new to me rear differential and I am going to swap over the LSD carrier unit. Anyways, to the pictures of broken shit.

This is the bearing that broke:

Here you can see the outer bearing race of the bearing that broke. Farther back you can see that the inner pinion gear bearing race is pulled towards the front of the differential. There should be part of the diff housing there holding the spacer and bearing race in place plus the ribs/splines in between the two bearing races are damaged.

Finally here are some of the broken bits inside the bottom of the diff by the magnet.

Oh the joys of breaking stuff. Got torque?
