JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

Those look comfy and grippy. Look fwd to seeing them polished up in person. Car is really coming together to s point where you can enjoy the final product

Looking good Jimmy, would love to see the install details on the Chiller setup as well as your feedback and experience with the kit, please do share when you have time!!

I have everything installed for the Killer Chiller setup and it was working shortly until my high side AC line blew off. Originally the factory Audi high side line is 5/16" ID but my JHM modified line for the supercharger kit is a 13/32" ID. I had jerry-rigged a fitting and line to work but it didn’t hold so I am waiting to receive the correct size T fitting and line to do this correctly. Joe at Kincaid Performance has told me that it shipped out so as soon as I get it then I can throw it in really fast and get more data to share. It is to be expected that there will be these little holdups with a custom project like this.

Why not embrace the crazy ideas sometimes if you can actually make it work. There is a good video by CT Fletcher that I have been seeing lately that puts to words what I have thought for a long time. “I am going to keep doing what I want to until they pour dirt on top of me.”

Back on topic, I have considered using water injection on my S4 to get the intake temps down. Notice I said water injection and not water/meth injection. Water/meth injection is ok when used correctly but it causes issues with my S4. However I would want to run the water injection a very specific way because I don’t like the way that most people do it. Most people put a nozzle before the throttle body. Kind of like an old fashioned cheap and easy nitrous injection. Instead I would want to run direct plate style water injection to get as even flow and cooling as possible. Then I would likely have to mount a tank in the trunk because there is no more room in the engine compartment. To be totally honest though at that point I would just rather run nitrous instead but the stock S4 block can’t handle that. Currently though the intercooler kit with the KC unit should be more than sufficient on my car for the time being. It will be very interesting to see how my car responds to going to stage 2 SC at some point long down the road.

Finally got a little time to relax today so I installed my Euro RS4 seats. Still need to clean and condition them but all things in due time.

Tested out my Killer Chiller setup on my JHM stage 1+ supercharged S4 today. The ambient air temperature was 72°F at the time of the pictures with temperature readings. The KC unit got the intercooler water down to 49°F after 4-5 minutes of sitting still. That is a 23°F temperature drop below ambient! This will lead to a lot more power from really cold intake air temperatures!

The after intercooler intake air temperatures ranged from 57-60°F, which is amazing! I have a temperature sensor as part of my Zadatech gauge installed on the backside of the intercooler. This is with the pre-supercharger intake air temperatures (pulled from the Mass Air Flow sensor via my P3-cars gauge) around 90°F. Keep in mind that this is all while sitting still!

Then the intercooler water tank and the intercooler itself was pretty frosty after a quick drive.

Right now I am exhausted so I am going to bed but I will be getting more information ready for the guys that have been waiting.

KC for the win. In for cool info and fast times

so so cool. Thanks for the updates this is such a really cool project.

Wow, that is a huge drop, some good information.

I am sold, not sure where I will fit everything but that will be my next mod and I thought I was done after the initial Stage 1 and recent 1+ installs.

Thanks for sharing Jimmy.

It will only get better once I get something else working. Been having difficulties with getting everything working the exact way that I wanted but that has seemed like a theme since I had to do something different than just an intercooler install. There will be a much better update with pictures and details once I get everything working the way that I want.

By the way, I have said that before. That I would be done after doing a certain thing and then I get bored and want to try some new things too. At this point I have just come to terms with it that I will probably not stop modifying this car until I completely exhaust every potential idea somehow.

Stay stage 3+ happy. I think it’s cool to continue to tinker as long as the car remains in running condition so you can actually enjoy it, especially the track. Once you hit that “perfect” phase you may get bored too, which is never fun. It’s like the saying goes it’s not about the destination rather the journey

I believe that’s exactly the situation I am finding myself in at this moment in time. Having done the Suspension, Rims, Brakes & Rotors, Interior and eventually the Stage 1 & 1+ blower I told myself it was mission accomplished. ;D
But, sigh :(, a few weeks on and I almost on a daily basis find myself in the garage tinkering, looking and walking around the car, opening the hood and sometimes I just sit and stare at it and ask myself what next? I just have this unexplainable itch to do something more to it even though it almost tick all the must have mods as it sits. Must be boredom I guess :-\

Buy a tesla. No engine to tweak, no mods available, no tuning companies, no tune to tune.
