True.
I guess a fool and his money are soon parted.
…and sadly, he and his money are again parted when he buys the next bullshit kit (AMD) from liars, sold by the same shitty no-integrity shop (KMD).
^^ Some people would buy it. Look no further than the PES supercharger for the RS4. Despite running 12.6 at the track - :o - the kit sold.
oddly enough, 12.6 used to be a good time for the RS4. He ran it with about $30,000 in mods though lol ($5000 exhaust, $12,000 sc, $4000 wheels, $8000 lw euro RS4 seats).
Saddest part was my bone stock RS4 almost matched his supercharged time, and then I comfortably beat him after adding nothing but a used 3 year old JHM fullback exhaust.
I agree on all accounts but one thing I don’t understand is even if they did make this kit work who the hell would buy it?
that’s a good question from a few standpoints
would anyone put $20,000+ into a B8 S4 to go faster? For this I would say, definitely. People are putting $20,000 into B6 S4s…and B5 S4s.
would anyone give these hack losers $20,000? To this I say I sure fucking hope not, but one thing scam companies have proved in the past is that no matter how often you change your name and act shady, some dumb Audi owner will still give you money.
I’m surprised they did as much testing as they did, this was a bad idea from the start
Well this continues to keep proving what we keep saying all the time it takes more then a welder and a dyno the idiot that thought this was going to be a good idea it’s a be guy. That tells you everything you need to know. The b5 guys suck at the b5. That same lack of understanding wasn’t going to do anything more the do what happened here. A bunch of lolz
Got home late from work and read through this thread again tonight. Full of win/lulz. AR classic for sure.

d.p., agreed… I just think it’s shitty and in the long run why the “tuner” has changed places/names a few times in the last year… Look no further than a few posts up, IE Saxon, he went EPL “custom” and basically wasted money since he switched to APR, although he seems to be in denial of some suffering some form of cognitive dissonance… Overall just a pretty shitty way for them to conduct themselves and of course Toni lets them get away with it since the $'s rule… Wonder whatever happened with his review of OEM+? LOL
Saxon Looks to be selling and moving on.

LOL! He’s waffled for some time now… Wonder what he’ll get? I’m about to do the same except I’ll be giving the car to my wife for a daily and buying another toy ;D She’s just not sure she wants the S4 or a Q5… I told her no test drives until the spring in case she doesn’t want it… Muahhaahhhhaaa…
My general feeling is it’s challenging to change the induction system of a motor, whether it’s adding a SC or a turbo. It’s much easier to buy a new platform. My BMW 3 series really needed a supercharger and a mechanical differential. Made a lot more sense to switch to an S4. Now that the B8 is aging, it’s worth it to look at new platforms if you’re still into supercharged motors. The F-Type has AWD for 2016 with both their V6 SC and their V8 SC. They’re kind of heavy for sports coupes, though. Not a deal killer but it’s no Cayman.
I still haven’t met a turbo motor that I’m enamoured with for sports car use. I think they’re fine in street luxury cars. Maybe Audi’s electric turbos will change my mind.

Looks like those guys did a shoddy install when opening up the ECM for the bench flash. I still don’t get the appeal of this. It’s not cheaper (maybe a couple hundred, but still 1200), not faster, nor is anyone out there running it hard/vetting it out.
If it’s really a quarter inch gap, did they bend the cover (prying it?) :o
I recall that while APR used to make it so that ECUs were shipped to their facility, a different tuner (REVO) allowed the dealers to do it? Could be mistaken.

Mine has been opened before when stasis did the tune. I dont see how it would be so hard to close it back up properly. I have opened one as well and it does take some effort, but not to the point of leaving a non weather tite seal.
