Pretty useless without knowing about them.
I’ve beaten ‘stage 3’ B5 S4s in my stock RS4 and my bolt on JHM B7 S4 before, both of my cars were high 12s cars (the B5s were patchy modlists, stock fuelling etc…). I’ve also been anally raped by them (well sorted ones).
Calling a B5 ‘stage 3’ is a great way to scare lots of people who assume they’re all like JHM’s 10.8 @ 130 car, however reality is most of them are lucky to run 12.5 @ 113 on pump gas. A tiptronic is even slower. The FASTEST EVER tiptronic B5 S4 time is 12.25 @ 118. That was on race gas. Here’s his modlist…no stone left unturned here:

Most tiptronic stage 3 B5 S4s are lucky to see the 12s at all.
For perspective, here’s what happened to a stage 3 B5 on pump gas and a very solid modlist (frankenturbos, revised VAST tune, ER SMICs, full AWE exhaust etc) when it went up against an APR TVSr1320 supercharged Audi (RS4), also on pump gas.
That Audi would later run 11.8 @ 118-119 so basically what half a dozen B8 S4 guys have done…in other words that RS4 is nice and quick, but not crazy. It still obliterated the ‘stage 3’ B5 S4.
